I realized that in all of the selection books, everyone gives the credit of the characters to Rick riordan when the one that should get the most credit is Kierra Cass, the author of the original selection series. You HAVE to read it, it is amazing. The first part is a little boring but then the rest is amazing. 

    I do not own the characters you recognize, Rick Riordan does and I do not own the main idea of the selection or castes, Kierra Cass does. I own the plot and ideas in this book!

Annabeth's POV:

        " So, Percy, tell me about your family" I asked trying to start a conversation

        " Well, I have a younger brother named Tyson and he is 9 Years old. My mom is Sally, but she is currently sick and Tyson and I are trying to work as much as we can to get money to help her. My father left us just after Tyson was born." 

         Percy said looking a little sad. I felt bad for him. I forgot that he was a 5 and it was probably really hard for him with his father gone, his mother sick and a brother that is still young.

       " So what is your brother like, Percy?" i asked him

     " Well, he is funny and kind but he is very worried about mom and sometimes all he does is wish that she could be better. Even though he has to work and he is still 9" 

    " Really? That sounds heartbreaking. I know you hate the idea of the castes and probably hate me too, but if i could change it, my mother would never allow me to. I didn't know it was that bad"

   " the eights have it much worse, sometimes I feel thankful for what I have even if its small."

  " I think our siblings would get along but fight at times. My sister is also like that, but she is determined and bold even if she is young. Sometimes she is too confident but she is a great girl."

 "   I wonder where she could have inherited that  from!" He says teasingly

" Oh shut up, Seaweed Brain" I said thinking that his brain was filled with seaweed. I remembered that he loves water fro our last conversation and I told him I like owls and books

" Two can play that game, uhhh......Wise Girl"

" You know that that's a compliment, Kelp Face"

" Owl head"

"Fish Boy"

" Brainy Princess"

I didn't realize how close our faces had gotten during our nickname contest. Our noses were an inch or two apart. I guess Percy also realized that because he started blushing as well as I did.

" Well your majesty, it has been an honor walking with you" he bows, but then adds, " Although, I won that contest" he winked then walked away.

     I was still their slightly blushing when i started to think, he was good, but he is still in the friend zone to me. there is no way that I could ever like him, he is too disorganized and close minded.

   Time Lapse:

    At dinner, is stole a couple of glances at percy, but then stopped. I had a meeting straight after so i went to the meeting. Later, i was tired so i read a book and fell asleep to t with my maids hazel, Calypso and Lucy doing my hair and fixing the room.  They were always so nice to me.

Next Day: (Still Annabeth's POV)

 Hazel woke me up with a hug. I had known her since I was 13. She was 14 at that time so she is only 1 Year older than me. I tell all of my maids to be informal towards me and they are. We play, laugh and have fun all of the time. 

    " Come on Annie, we have to make you look beautiful so that those men will drool over you" Hazel said

  " DONT call me Annie and do whatever you want to do, just remember. I want a simple dress with a light layer of makeup,"

  " whatever you want....Annie- I mean Annabeth" Calypso said while giggling

  I roll my eyes at her then look at the dress that Lucy brought. It was a simple but beautiful red gown. She gave me matching red shoes.

     After we had breakfast, i decided to get to know some of the men of the selection better. I decided to start with Luke since he seems like a kind and interesting man.

       I wrote a note and gave it to one of the maids to give him

       Mr.Luke,

       Would you want to join me in the library at 1?

      Princess Annabeth

    I had to help my father with some protest brought up in a village against the castes.

 After I finished, I went to the library to find Luke waiting for me.

" I am sorr that I am late" I said

" No problem your highness" he said then bowed

" Please, none of that nonsense, just call me Annabeth" he smiled warmly after I said that

" As you wish. What do you enjoy doing" 

" i love to read, draw and play the piano" 

" Really, that is interesting. I would love to hear you play sometime, you must be excellent"

I blushed at that comment. People barely compliment me, other than Percy's sort of compliment.

" Why thank you, and I hope that one day you will" I replied

After a while we started talking and chatting about his family, he kept on throwing in compliments. I felt like we were just two friends talking. 

" I have had a lovely time with you, Mr. Luke"

" Please, just call me Luke"

"Ok, bye and i hope we can do this some time soon" I kiss him on the cheek, seeing him slightly blush as i walk past him and out of the library.
