Let's Walk
I'm typing this on my phone so don't kill me if there are a ton of mistakes but feel free to point them out... Hiya everyone! DPShipper here (what a stupid name, I know... I'm Dannyphantomfangirl on Instagram :) so DP would stand for Danny Phantom because that show is life) anyways... This is my first story here on wattpad but not my first one ever so it shouldn't be too horrible but I can't promise that it'll be good.
Have you ever had a thought, a thought you know you couldn't possibly entertain and you push it away so that it just sits in the back of your head and as it sits there, it watches and it grows. It feeds on your subconscious and inhales all other thoughts you'd hoped to have until one day, that one small suppressed thought is the only thing you can think about. The only thing your mind has room for. For Percy, that thought was Nico di Angelo.

Percy's POV
"Good morning Seaweed Brain. You need to get up, it's breakfast time!"
I groggily open my eyes and turn my head to the sound of my girlfriend's voice. Gods, she looks beautiful. Her golden hair has grown even longer and she refuses to take the time to go and get it cut. She has her head sticking in through the slightly open cabin door and is looking down at me in my bunk with her signature 'I Disapprove' face. As if I'm not immune to her stares by now.
"Seriously Percy," she chides, "you have to get up soon, after breakfast I was thinking we could go on a walk in the woods. Don't keep me waiting!" And with that she ducked her head out of the doorway and ran off to who knows where while I was left to get ready for the day... Can't I just not eat? Breakfast is for losers.
Don't keep me waiting!
Dam you inner Annabeth.
I could never deny her anything.
I got up and stretched to try and wake up some of my muscles before putting on a random CHB t-shirt that didn't smell too bad and a pair of jeans. Looking down at my bedside table, I saw a picture of me and Annabeth that she had taken on a random Thursday ((author giggles because reference)). She had one arm around my neck while I held onto her waist and rested my head lightly on hers. I slipped on my shoes and headed out the door.
As I looked outside I saw campers just going about their daily business. The Aphrodite cabin was chasing down some poor random kid from the Hermes cabin. Their next victim. I wasn't sure on wether I should help the poor guy or just sit back and watch. Apparently my decision was made for me.
"Percy! Wait up," greeted Jason as he raced to catch up with me. He clapped me on the back and gave me a friendly smile with just a hint of sadness. Huh. Mental note for later I guess.
"What's up dude," I replied and returned his half hug, "how've you been settling in to Camp Half Blood?"
"I've been doing good, I'm just worried is all."
"What do you mean? What could you possibly be worried about? Gaea's been defeated. Both camps are at peace with each other. The gods seem kind of normal. What's wrong?"
"Well. It's just. It's been 2 weeks Percy and no one has seen Nico. You can't tell me your not just a little bit worried?"
Of course I was worried but I wasn't about to tell Jason that. Somehow he and Nico had gotten to be really close while Annabeth and I were in... were down there. Surely he'd tell Nico about it and he'd never let me live it down. Besides, Nico can take care of himself.
"I don't know man," I decided to say, "he'll show up eventually. He always does."
We walked on in silence until we made it to the dining pavilion where Annabeth stood waiting by my table, tapping her foot impatiently. Jason grasped me by the shoulder gently.
"Good luck," he said and walked to his table.
Apparently he's had experience with angry girlfriends.
"Hey Wise Girl!" I called out as I reached my table. She's got her we-need-to-talk face on. I wasn't that late, was I?
"Why don't we go on that walk I mentioned earlier, since apparently breakfast doesn't mean much to you anymore," she said, attempting to sound light but the tenseness in her shoulders gave her away.
"Annie, come on, I wasn't that late."
"Percy, this has nothing to do with you being late. We need to talk."
And this would be the point where, if I were a cartoon, my character would gulp comically.
"O-okay sure, let's walk."
Maybe I should have skipped breakfast and gone for a hike in the woods.
That would have been so much easier.
"Wise Girl, where are we going?" I called out as she practically ran away from me. I had to sprint to catch up, but as soon as we left camp and entered the woods, I knew where we were going.
Deep inside the woods is a little clearing that overlooks a small pond, impossible to find if you don't know where to look. I had discovered it one day because I had been drawn to the water source and brought Annabeth as soon as I could. She loved it and it quickly became known as 'our spot'.
"Percy," she turned to me once she was certain no one was around to overhear us, "something's been going on lately. With you."
"What are you talking about Annabeth, I haven't changed at all."
"Yes, you have. You get really distant when we're together and you get this far away look in your eye, and Percy," she looks me in the eye to make sure I'm still listening, "I know your thinking about him."
"Annabeth that's insane. I don't.. I'm not.."
"Percy, you've changed, but that's ok. I think that maybe it's time for us to go our separate ways, and maybe one day you'll realize, just how much you love him," she finished with tears in her eyes and a sad smile.
"Annabeth.. Wise Girl, please don't do this," I pleaded.
"Percy, don't ever forget that I love you but your heart isn't mine anymore and that's ok. Just, promise me we will always be best friends?" She opened her arms out for a hug which I quickly accepted. I still don't fully understand what's going on but I bury my nose in her hair anyways.
"I promise."
And that's chapter one everybody. Is this worth continuing? Was it horrible? Do you all realize by now that Percico will happen? In this fic that is. What do I need to fix? Any pointers?
