CH 15
*Alpha blood in them*
The house was lively in a way the Garmon brothers had never had it before, the moment they accepted the Mcvincis' they knew they were in for a jumpy ride.
Raphael came home early from having trained his warriors with the hope of gazing into those beautiful baby blue eyes, he had just step foot into the doorway when the sound of yelling rang through his sensitive ears.
He marched his way inside straight to his living room where his brother Diego was lounging on a bean bag with a plate of alluring spaghetti meatballs, he was eating whole heartedly while the yells in foreign tongue continued ringing in high pitch.
His reddish brow rose in question but before he could ask angered foot steps stormed down the stairs as brownish blonde hair sway with each movements.
"Ohhh I give up!"
She exaggerated loudly as she storms pass him falling down on another beanbag beside her mate.
"And please don't ask me what is going on cause even I don't know and they aren't telling me"
She huffed out before moaning at the spaghetti meatballs she packed into her mouth that had calmed her down.
"Are they French? Or something else"
Raphael asked picking up deep accent that rolled off their tongue like second nature yet they look like normal Americans or maybe Spanish?
"Dunno, I do remember Beta Mcvinci having a accent and Beta female a Spanish of such"
She shrugged, going back to savouring the food in their hand.
The Lupez pack was across nation with the population of major Spanish and Irish speaking citizens.
I left the lovers of food and headed towards the chaotic noise. Opening the door I was met with a comical scene. My mate was still on bed though weak had a stern look as she glared at Harries who returned the glared with his own. He was hovering over the edge of the bed attempting to stand.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Just this morning before he left he had stumbled upon the blue eyed pup, Chris who asked if he could use his kitchen.
He had spent the entire morning thinking about how not only did he find his mate but his wolf had taken an abrast desire to adopt the pups. He had thought about how they would make their living arrangements, he would leave the decision to them if they wanted to start then they had to join the pack and if they wanted him to have adopt them.
Technically he was also their legal guardian since he was their sister's mate well that is until he marks and mate with her which is closely like marriage.
"Alpha Garmon can you please tell my sister to stop treating me like a baby"
"Am treating you like a baby? You are hurt Harries Mcvinci so sit still".
Anna restored back angrily.
He rose a challenging brow calling her bluff
"Well then why don't you stop me or better still tell your mate to stop me"
He rose on shaky legs struggling to make his escape less strenuous but Annabelle's growls said he was deceiving no one.
"What's wrong Anna? Cat got your tongue? He's right here you know"
The anger in the air was tense furthering confusing the life out of Raphael.
Her glowing blue orbs suddenly looked glassy then they turned golden in anger.
"Harries Mcvinci, you get you butt back in bed this instant"
"Guys come on, don't do this your body is still healing"
Chris who sat at the other corner of the bed tried to peacefully calm them down but to no avail. He was totally ignored.
Raphael watched the power play between siblings curious about who was stronger.
"Make me"
Harries snapped back his eyes also glowing, the tension became thicker Raphael also felt his wolf ruffle his fur ready to show appearance.
"I don't hear yelling, so did you calm them down brother"
Diego waltz in oblivious to the hot burning tension by the time he realized what he walked into he was stark confused.
"Diego please help Chris bring my Mate downstairs"
They could hear the chocked anger in his voice when he mentioned the word mate.
Raphael knew touching her at that moment would stir things up for him but rather scare her away, he didn't want that, he wanted to unwrap her out of her shell not drive her further away when he had just found her and at the hands of death at the least.
He wrapped his arms around the quivering body of Harries helping him get downstairs. No words was heard amongst them except for Diego's curious rambling trying to inquire what had happened.
Ann Marie was shocked to see them all downstairs, she address her concern by requesting they went back to their bed rest which Harries profusely refused saying spaghetti meatballs were best eating in the dinning and not on bed.
The tension between the siblings was still hot, Annabelle had a farway look in her eyes that only the boys knew but refuse to comment on, her eyes were mostly golden while she watched them all not even touching her food.
Harries had enough, he was still mad at his sister, he knew why she had felt the way she did but that didn't mean she could just give up on them like that hullicanation or not, her words hurt him, he had his tough shell up front for a reason.
His palm banged harshly on the table, glaring those eyes at her.
"Enough Anna!, will you please just chill and eat"
The whole table was taken aback by his anger except for two.
There were times where the twins took roles of being the responsible ones, it was how they were able to cope, they shared their rights but no matter how Annabelle would always be superior, but at that moment she was still lost inside her body.
"That is no way to speak to your sister"
Raphael also had enough of their tantrums, he was so close to demand they tell him what was bothering them.
"I can talk to my sister anyhow I fucking want to"
Raphael glared back at him.
"Harrs knows what he's doing, we know what we are doing, Alpha Garmon"
Chris added not even bothering to look up.
All siblings were still mad, Raphael had enough. He growl ripped through him harshly, the twins retaliated back but only this time they triggered their shift and this time they wouldn't be able to stop it.
They crumbled to the ground sweat was quick to soak them up, Harries had it worst his body was still healing.
There were groans and whimpers rumbling out of them as the others stared not sure how to help. They knew they couldn't stop it and nothing could be done now to lessen their pain except them.
"No, it too early"
Her eyes were widen was panic
"It's too early, they should have till tomorrow"
Her body was still weak to hold her up, she crumbled to the ground kneel first.
Raphael rushed towards her side, his hands hovering above her while she pinned him with her desperate look.
"They should have till tomorrow, they will make it right?"
He felt his heart give out at those eyes. Those eyes that rolled to the back of her head slumping her body.
****
Their groan of pain rang through the early evening breeze, their body burned and twisted from the inside as their wolves prepares for the change.
The change had never been easy not everybody survives it including alphas and higher blood, over the years werewolves created ways to make it less painful, they created morphine and ice baths to cool the body, they made sure they were always calm forming mutual bond with their inner being to make the shift more cooperative and less brutal.
Still with all this there still wasn't a 100 percent guarantee.
"Do you think they will make it?"
They watched as they withered on the swaying green grass, reminiscing of when they had once been in the same position, the hours of pain and the joy of their reward.
"I don't know, D"
They watched the sweaty groaning brothers in unsureness. Their fate was in the hands of the moon.
"Ann Marie said she partially lived her whole life for them. Do you think she will survive if they don't?"
Ann Marie had carried her hysterical self back into the house unable to stomach the wheels of fate, she was in one of the room watching over the other unconscious female while praying.
"I don't know"
Fate was a cruel twisted entity, it work in ways the everybody questions.
"I'm sorry brother"
Grey eyes stared ahead guarded frustration. An Apex Alpha in a situation he had to be and still couldn't believe he was in it.
"I can sense a little Alpha blood in them"
Could he create hope or would hope find him, no could hope change their fate?. These were the question running through him.
"But will it be enough to save them?"
They were half crossed, father a beta mother an Alpha, each strong wolves of their own with the brains they had passed down. At the moment they were just ordinary wolves, the power of their blood dominant.
"They survived this long, they are strong"
Raphael had felt their blood, he had seen their battle wounds, he had felt their pain, he was still surprise they made it this far even as they spoke they were trying to hold in their shift for few more hours.
"Well whatever happens brother, I've got your back always"
He was his brother's keeper, his Apex beta, even though he was five years younger, he was the only one who could stand with the Apex.
******
They forced the air into their lungs, shaking from preapriratii under the setting sun, the ropes on their chest had already burnt its mark.
Raphael made then mawl the grasses in the valley each given a chopped down fully grown tree to use.
The golden brothers had been able to move only a quarter before dropping to their kneels, they were still in pain controlling their wolves now they had to endure their physical pain.
"Alpha Garmon when we die can you please burry our body back at our pack, there is a clearing at the back of our house inside the woods, we want to be burry there"
Chris willed down through broken breath, his pale tan skin looking more pale with purple and red bruises on it, his twin was no different with his light skin.
"Anna's favorite flowers are daisies just toss daggers and any sharp object on my grave"
Both the Apex brothers had raised questioned brows on their faces. The were also shirtless, observing the brothers works while they strolled casually.
"You haven't even gone more than a mile and you are already giving up? Pathetic"
Diego jabbed at them instigating the reaction he wanted.
The anger their dominant wolves hated being labeled as, 'Pathetic' 'weak'
"Why are you doing this? What do you hope to gain by making us do this labor when our shift was mere hours away, are you really trying to kill us"
Chris growled out at them, ready to attack.
"I just want to make your deaths more honorable"
Raphael replied staring down at the older twin in stern boredom.
"You don't think we will make it?"
He was more than shocked by the Alpha's words wondering if he knew of the consequences of their deaths.
"I don't see any reason why you will"
Was he a fool or did he not want their sister? Was she too broken for him?
They felt their pride and protection for their sister burn, feeding in their wolves.
Harries spoke, no longer panting in labored breath or in his usual cockiness, he spoke straight forward.
"Alpha might have deprived us a lot of things but our sister fought for us, she taught and provided for us, she satisfied a lot for us, she became both a mother and father to us when hers were taken away from her, she gave us her childhood, so there is no way in hell we are going to rewards her for everything by not surviving this"
Diego finally felt it, he felt the blood flowing in their veins, he felt what Raphael had felt, even him was as shock, speechless in question.
"Hey Chris!!"
Harries called out, not taking his dagger eyes off the Apex brothers.
"Yeah?"
"Is that bet still on?"
Their cockiness appeared full blown with enough zeal.
"Definitely but I think we ought to increase the money since we have new brothers that are capable of making us rich"
"I love the way you think, Chris"
Their identical glowing golden eyes stared back at dashing grey, their wolves showed their presence through their eyes, daring the Alpha to declare them weak.
Raphael smiled, accepting the challenge with a gut eating satisfaction.
He always loved a good challenge.
And they proved to be worth a great match, beating up to the expectations until the final minute where they shifted.
