Eros and Psyche: Part 2
I know. I'm the devil for making you wait to hear the last half. Oh well.
*****
Psyche's first task was to sort a pile of grains into separate piles in a night. Oh boy. Well, Psyche pretty much gives up five minutes in. But, since Psyche is basically a Disney Princess, some ants help her sort the grains.
Aphrodite is mad that Psyche completed the task and gives her a second task. Psyche must collect some wool from some golden sheep across a river. While she tries to drown herself, a reed tells her to take the wool that has been caught on the brambles because the sheep will breathe fire and kill her. So Psyche does what the reed tells her.
Now for the third task! Psyche has to get some water from the river Styx. Which is protected by dragons and is in a pretty hellish place. However, Zeus actually decides to help her with this task. He sends an eagle to take Psyche's cup and fill it with water from the Styx for her. So the third task is done, but there's one more.
Also, Eros has pretty much recovered and has forgiven Psyche so now Aphrodite is being dramatic. But, Aphrodite won't let him out of his room to go to Psyche.
So for the last task, Psyche must go to the Underworld to retrieve some of Persophone's beauty. Why Aphrodite needs it, I don't know. She is literally the goddess of beauty. Anyway, Psyche goes down to hell and is guided by the walls. Don't ask. May I add that Psyche is carrying a child? She's a freaking badass. So she gets the beauty and goes back to the surface and all is great!
Nope.
Psyche is going to see her husband for the first time in a long time and she looks pretty ugly. So, she opens the box of beauty to use some of it. However, inside the box is this gas that makes Psyche go into a death-like state.
And that's the end of the story! Psyche dies!
Kidding XD
Eros escapes his mother and goes to Psyche, removing the spell and carrying her to Olympus. He asks Zeus to make her a goddess, which Zeus is actually ok with. Aphrodite objects, but everyone is pretty fed up with her BS and tell her to sit down. Psyche is given Ambrosia and turns into a goddess. I believe that she represents soul? I'm not really sure.
Anyway, they're married as equals and all is amazing. Over time, Psyche gives birth to their daughter, Hedone, who is the goddess of pleasure.
And they all lived happily ever after!
Moral of the story: don't mess with Eros. He will cut you.

Ahhhhhh! I love this story so much. I've always had an interest in love and its different forms, so this story has always held a special place in my heart. These two are also my Greek Mythology OTP XD. Also, a little thing I've noticed: I saw a bunch of similarities between this story and A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas. The trials, the main protag being taken to a new world, and being unable to see her significant other (although the tool was only wearing a mask). That being said, that ship can burn in hell. Go kill yourself, Tamlin. FEYSAND FOREVER!!!!!!! *ahem* Thank you so much for reading and look forward to the next story!
