Chapter 3

Anna's POV

I looked over at Hermione, good thing she was asleep. Well, of course she was, it was 5:00 in the morning... I tiptoed down the narrow stairs, and peeked around the wall. I saw Mr. Weasley go into the kitchen to talk with Molly, now was my chance. Harry was waiting in the I tried to look casual as I leaned against the wall, and I gave Harry a wolf whistle.

"You sure do look handsome... So, are you nervous?" I asked softly, putting my arms around his neck, and looked into his eyes, giving a tired smile.

"Why are you up so early? And of course I'm nervous, I'm going to be expelled-"

"Because I just had to see you before you left, but don't tell anyone, I wasn't supposed to... But Harry, you're innocent, just remember that."

"I...I know... But what if-"

"Look, you're going to do fine, okay? I promise... Just make sure to keep your temper under control, don't you dare snap at them, otherwise they will convict you."

"Okay... And I want to apologize for the past few days-"

"No, don't it's fine-"

"No, it's not... I mean, I just feel so bad, especially for the others... I mean, its like you're the only one that can control me, you're the only one that understands..." he said sadly, his arms around my waist and I hugged him.

"I know... I guess I just have that special affect, don't I?"

"You really do, and I don't know what I would do without you... Just promise to never leave me..."

"Don't worry about that, I won't leave, I promise," I whispered, and was about to kiss him, but there were footsteps coming closer.

"I love you Anna."

"Love you too... And I'll always be there, even at the hearing."

"Wait, what-"

"Bye!" I whispered with a wink before I darted up the stairs, and into my mini library. I quickly scanned through all of the books, looking for the right one that I've been studying for most of the summer. Ah, there it is, Dark, Yet Helpful Spells: Use at your own risk! I frantically flipped through the pages, and found what I was looking for. I muttered the spell, and it felt like pins and needles were stabbing me all over. I held back a yelp, and after a while, the pain finally stopped. Quickly glancing in the mirror, I knew the spell worked pretty well, it was just the eyes that didn't change. Oh well, it'll just have to do...

"Perfect," I said with a smile, and the door opened.

"Hey Anna, I thought I saw... Bloody hell!" he exclaimed, and I gave him a sharp glare.

"Ron, its me-"

"No, you're-"

"It's just a spell... Now I need to get to Harry's hearing! Please, don't tell anyone I'm leaving, okay?" I begged, and he just nodded.

Harry's POV

"Good luck in the hearing Harry," Arthur said awkwardly before walking off. I took a deep breath, ready to open the door to the court room... I wished Anna was next to me, and that she could help me out. She was really outspoken, and people listened to her. I on the other hand, well, let's just say I'm more of the quiet type. I opened the door, went over to the defendant's chair in the center of the room, and sat down.

"This is the hearing for the offense committed by Harry James Potter, who's residence is Number Four Pivet Drive, Little Whinging. On-"

"May the defendant have a witness?" a voice asked. I looked over and saw McGonagall. She looked at me, and gave me what looked like a mischievous smile...

"Erm, I suppose-"

"That's splendid... I'm Minerva McGonagall... So, what are the charges?"

"The charges of the accused are intentional underage magic in the presence of a muggle, do you deny Mr. Potter?"

"No, but-"

"And did you know that it is against the law to use magic outside of school under the age of sixteen?"

"Yes, but-"

"Then-"

"Minister, I am sorry to interrupt you, but let me remind you who he was with. His cousin, Dudley, why would he use a patronus charm other than the use it is supposed to be used for?" she asked, hiding a smirk and crossing her arms. I noticed she was acting quite different... And I swear for the few milliseconds we made eye contact, she had brown eyes (strangely familiar to Anna's), unlike her usual blue-green ones.

"Maybe he was trying to impress his cousin?" the Minister suggested, and McGonagall held back a laugh, but quickly the stern look immediately appeared on her face again. What was wrong with her?

"By using a patronus? I think he would rather stun his ignorant, muggle cousin rather than show him a petty charm!"

"Well, you might be right...but-"

"Why don't you let Potter explain?" she asked, giving me a smile. The Minister nodded, and motioned for me to speak. I made sure to sound as polite as possible, trying to ignore Voldemort's constant nagging anger. After I was done, an older, short lady with pink on cleared her throat, and started speaking.

"You see, there is one flaw in your lie, the Ministry has control over the dementors, are you accusing us of the attack?" the lady asked. I gave her a glare, I couldn't stand her already...

"Maybe you should keep better track-"

"Harry!" McGonagall barked, but her voice was higher and clearer than normal. For a second it sounded like Anna... No, I'm going crazy... "Heh, sorry, but maybe he is right? Maybe one dementor-"

"There were two of them Professor," I snapped, and immediately regretted it. She gave me a sharp look that bluntly said, "Shut up before I hex you."

"Fine. As I was saying, maybe, is it possible that two dementors possibly escaped from the hundreds that you have to keep track of?"

"Well, possibly-"

"Maybe that explains the whole situation, right Minister?" she asked, raising and eyebrow. The Minister knew that he had lost, and had nothing left to say. I saw a grin spread across McGonagall's face, a grin that I know too well, and its not hers... Snapping me out of my thoughts, someone from the jury stood.

"Those in favor of conviction?" she asked, and about a quarter of the courtroom raised their hand, including the lady in pink who gave me a sharp glare.

"All those in favor of dropping any and all charges?" The lady who stood up asked, and the majority raised their hand, including her.

"Witness for the defense! Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore... Minerva, what are you doing here?" he asked sharply, an eyebrow raised. I could see McGonagall's fear she was trying to hide... Was she not supposed to be here?

"Erm...I...I can here to get some student records?" she said, more of a question than a statement. Dumbledore gave her such a cold glare, I felt a chill down my spine.

"Ah, another witness for the defense? Sorry, but the trial is over, Mr. Potter is dropped of all charges, thank you all for coming," the Minister growled, and Dumbledore gave a death glare at McGonagall. She quickly scurried out of the room, and I went over to Dumbledore.

"Professor-"

"I must go Harry," he said coldly and left. I knew it was no use to follow him, so I left the courtroom and looked for McGonagall, she was hiding behind a pillar.

"Um, Professor, what are you-"

"Harry, Dumbledore is going to kill me!" She squeaked in a voice exactly like Anna's.

"What-"

"Yes, it's me, Anna... I found this spell that changes your appearance-"

"What about your voice?" I asked, she gave a nervous laugh.

"I'm good at imitating people... But that's not the point! Dumbledore knew it was me... Oh Merlin, I'm in so much trouble..." she said, panicked. I didn't know what to do, and the fact that she looked like McGonagall made it really awkward.

"Well, um, how did you get here?"

"I apparated... Don't ask how I knew how to apparate, I honestly don't know... Oh shit, Arthur's coming!" she squeaked, the blood drained from her face, and she tried to look like stern, Professor McGonagall.

"Ah, hello Minerva, what are you doing here?" Arthur asked, smiling.

"H...hello Arthur... I had heard about Harry's hearing, and came to testify for him... But I must be going, see you around!" she said quickly, and walked away.

"Is everything okay with her Harry?"

"Erm, yeah, she's just pressured with the new term and all..." I lied, and he just nodded.

"Well, we must be going, I'm sure Anna will be happy to find out the good news, right?" he asked with a smile. I held back a laugh, and just actually realizing how hilarious, but clever she is...

Anna's POV

"Ron! It's not working!" I exclaimed as I tried taking the spell off me, but I still looked like McGonagall...

"Try again-"

"Ronald, I've tried at least ten times! Would you care to try?!"

"Okay, fine, what's the spell and incantation?" he asked, and I showed him the book. When he tried, it didn't work.

"I'm dead! This is it, everyone is going to find out, and they're going to kill me... Please come to my funeral?"

"Anna, let's just try one more time, together, okay?"

"Okay..." I trailed off, hopeless. But I mustered up all of the strength I had, and Ron and I cast the spell. I screamed from the pain, and the bright light blinded us. After it was over, I ran to the mirror.

"It worked!"

"Oh Merlin, thank you so much!" I exclaimed, and gave him a tight hug. I could feel his heart beating rapidly, I wondered why...

"Hey, I heard a scream, are you okay Anna? Oh...would you care to explain this?" someone growled. Ron and I quickly let go of each other, and saw Harry giving us a death glare.

"Um...well... The spell wasn't coming off, and Ron helped me. If it weren't for him, well, I would've been screwed..." I trailed off sheepishly, but this seemed to anger Harry more.

"You couldn't have waited until I came back-"

"Okay, are you jealous or something?! Merlin, I can't even have friends help me without it seeming like-"

"I am not jealous!" he exclaimed, his eyes full of anger. Poor Ron was just standing there, as awkward as could be.

"I'm just going to go..." Ron trailed off, and scrambled out of the room. I looked into Harry's eyes, and kept my voice stern, hoping to knock some sense into him.

"Harry James Potter, this isn't you. You're not an jealous, angry, little git. Stop letting Voldemort take over you, you're stronger than him," I said sternly, snapping Harry out of his trance. He gave me a sheepish smile.

"I did it again, didn't I?"

"Yes, and you need to control it better, okay?"

"I'll try... Sorry..."

"It's fine, really... Just apologize to Ron, okay? Ha, the poor thing was terrified."

"I promise I will... I didn't get the chance earlier, I wanted to thank you for defending me during the hearing-"

"Don't worry about it, its not that big of a deal-"

"No, it really was, you risked a lot just by doing that, and it was really clever," he said laughing, I just gave a smile and rolled my eyes.

"It really wasn't that clever..."

"Yes, it was, and I really appreciated it."

"Well thanks, I just couldn't bear to go to Hogwarts without you. I mean no offense to Ron and Hermione, but they really get on my nerves sometimes," I said, and he laughed with me. I felt happy to have the old, nice, funny, laid back Harry, even though I knew it wouldn't be long until Voldemort took over his mind once more.
