Anna's POV

"Anna, you need to get ready for the second challange, I'll see you at the lake," Hermione said. I sighed and got up from the couch. I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My skin was pale, my eyes were dull, and depression was evident on my face. It's been three days since Cedric had kissed Cho, and the depression and heartbreak had caught up with me. I still couldn't believe he did that, after everything he had told me. And how he promised he would never betray me. I could feel my eyes start to water, so I quickly shook it off, and started getting ready. I put on my assigned gryffindor swimsuit and robe over it, tied my hair back, and slipped on some sandals. I splashed some water on my face so I would look as tired and worn out. I sighed and made my way to the peir. There were stands with many students, cheering and holding up signs with the champions' names on them. I smiled when I saw many of the signs had my name on them. I looked around and saw Harry sitting on the edge of the deck. I went over and sat next to him.

"Hey Harry."

"Hey... Are you okay?" he asked, studying the depressed expression I tried to hide with a smile.

"I'm...fine..."

"No, you aren't. It's about Cedric, isn't it?"

"Maybe..."

"Anna, you're too good for him, and you deserve someone better. Someone who really cares about you. You'll find them someday," he said, giving me a side hug.

"Thanks... On a different topic, do you have the gillyweed?"

"That's what I forgot..."

"Harry!"

"I'm just kidding," he said, chuckling, and pulling out the small box, containing gillyweed.

"Anna, can I please talk to you?" a voice said behind me that sent chills down my spine. I turned around, and glared at Cedric.

"No, I'm good."

"I'm sorry-"

"Look, I don't care. Saying you're sorry is going to fix anything. So you can just go shove off and snog a bunch of other girls, I really don't give a fuck," I growled, but he was persistent.

"Have you ever maybe gave a chance at the thought that Cho kissed me? That I didn't cheat on you? That I actually care about you, and would do anything for you?"

"Well, have you ever thought that you could have just pushed her away?"

"I-"

"I don't want to hear your excuses. I can't believe I was such an idiot for not knowing this would happen, and for not listening to others..."

"Anna, please, just listen-"

"No, I won't. If you can excuse me, I was having a conversation-"

"I like how you blame me for something I didn't even do, when you were pretty much flirting and practically cheating on me."

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh, don't play dumb. I know how you were with Harry everyday, how you were always flirting-"

"I'm done talking to you-"

"Because you know its true-"

"Its not true. He's just a friend, and you were just jealous. You probably snogged Cho so you could try to make me jealous-"

"I can tell it worked-"

"You just admitted it. And no, it didn't work, it pissed me off, and caused me to break up with you. It showed me how much of a jerk you really are-"

"No, you're just jealous," he taunted. That was it. I got up, and glared at him.

"You want me to prove how pissed I am?"

"You actually want to start a fight? How immature."

"As I recalled, you didn't think fighting was immature on the night of the yule ball," I snarled, and lunged at him. But Harry put his arm around my waist, and pulled me back before I could do any damage.

"He's not worth it," he whispered. I took a deep breath, and calmed myself down.

"TRIWIZARD CHAMPIONS, GET IN YOUR PLACES!" Dumbledore said, his voice amplified. Cedric sighed sadly, and went to his place. I slipped off my robe, and got ready to dive in. I heard lots of wolf whistles in my direction, and I just rolled my eyes. I looked at Harry, and found him staring me.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"You have a great body...I mean...um..." he trailed off, turning beet red. I smacked him in the back of the head and glared at him. He looked away, sheepishly.

"CHAMPIONS, YOU WILL HAVE ONE HOUR TO COMPLETE THE CHALLANGE-" Dumbledore said, but I stopped listening when I heard Harry choking. I realized he had eaten the gillyweed too early. I started panicking, if he didn't get in the water in the next few seconds, he could die. I shot fire at the wick of the cannon, and it went off. Cedric, Viktor, and Fluer had jumped in.

"You'll thank me later," I said, and pushed Harry in. Then, I quickly made an air bubble, and dived in. Ignoring everyone else, and the undersea creatures, I swam as fast as I could, and knew I was really close. But I didn't know exactly where I needed to be.

"Um, excuse me? Have you seen anything...different? Such as people or objects?" I asked a nearby eel that I saw.

"There were some witches and wizards that way," it said, flicking it tail in the direction it was referencing to.

"Thanks!" I said with a smile, and darted in that direction. When I got there, I saw five frozen people, one person for each champion. There was Draco, Ron, Hermione, Cho, and Fluer's little sister, whose name I didn't know. I knew Draco was mine to save, no question about it. I saw a rope tied around his ankle, and the other end tied to a large rock. I shot a spell at it, and it came apart. I put my arms around his waist, and swam upward to the surface. When we burst through the surface, we both started breathing heavily. We swam towards the edge of the pier, and we're helped up by some students.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Almost died, how about you?"

"I'm fine, and you're so dramatic... Do you think I would actually let you die?"

"Maybe..." He trailed off, and I smacked him in the back of the head. "What was that for?

"For being an idiot..."

"Hey!"

"I still love you, you little ferret," I said, smirking. He rolled his eyes and chuckled. For the remainder of the hour, we just talked, and watched as the other tributes surfaced. Then, right before the time was up, Ron and Fluer's little sister surfaced, but not Harry. I pulled up Fluer's little sister, and Ron up onto the pier.

"Ron, where's Harry?!"

"I'm fine, thanks for asking..."

"Seriously, have you seen him?!"

"No..." he trailed off. I noticed that he was staring at me.

"Why the hell are you staring at me like that?"

"You look great in a swimsuit," he said like a lovesick puppy. I smacked him hard on the shoulder, and he winced. I rolled my eyes, and tried to see through the water. I saw a figure coming closer to the surface, but then it was pulled down. Harry. Oh no. The gilliweed would only last an hour, and it's been about an hour and about two minutes. I he was down there much longer, he would die. I quickly made an air bubble, and got read to dive in.

"Anna, what are you-"

"I'll try to come up as soon as I can. When Harry comes up, pull him in as quick as you can-"

"But what about you?"

"Don't worry about me, I'm not as important-"

"Yes you are!"

"YOUR BEST FRIEND COULD DIE!" I exclaimed, and Ron was taken aback by this sudden realization. I turned back towards the water.

"If he doesn't make it, neither will you, because I will literally murder you," I snarled, and dove in. I swan towards the bottom, and saw Harry. He was being attacked by about a dozen mermaids, and was almost unconscious. I darted towards him.

"I'll distract them. Get to the surface, now!" I said, and pulled away a few mermaids so he could escape. He started swimming, but he turned back when I was pulled back by the mermaids.

"Anna-"

"GO!" I yelled, and shot a repelling spell at him, so he was forced to swim to the surface. I tried prying the mermaids off me, but failed miserably. They clawed at my legs and arms. I saw the water turning crimson red around me as I screamed from the pain of their claw marks. Two of them clamped their scaly hand around my throat. I could feel myself losing conciousness from lack of air. I did everything I could to get them off me, but just couldn't, there were too many. It felt like my eyes were being squeezed out of my head, and the bones in my neck were breaking from the tight grip of the mermaids. I finally gave up, knowing it was no use. 

"Bye Harry," I choked as I blacked out, even though I knew he couldn't hear me.
