Chapter 2~Where's yer mum?
The next day, John had everything for his 3 day journey into the forest.
"I'd never thought I'd see the day John Lennon went hiking," Paul muttered, shaking his head.
"Don't get used to it, this is the classic Lennon I'll-do-this-but-ends-up-doing-once sort of thing," Ringo replied.
"May the force be with you," George said, saluting John.
"Geez, George, I'm not going into battle!" John exclaimed.
He rolled his eyes, amd proceeded into the woods. Truth was, he wasn't doing this because of the rejuvenation, as you might've suspected. He just needed to get away for a little while. All this stress was doing nothing for his private life at home.
John walked almost the whole day, taking little breaks every so often, or to look at the scenery. It had been a pleasant day, not a cloud in the sky. Around 6, he came up to this small waterfall. It seemed a nice place to make camp next to. He pitched his tent up, then sat by the waterfall, meditating.
A little girl poked her head from behind a tree. She saw the strange man sitting by the waterfall, her waterfall, and tiptoed over to him. She studied his pose, amd mimicked him. She shut her eyes, only opening them once or twice to make sure she was doing it right.
This girl was a scrawny little girl around the age of 5. She was dressed in torn capris and a ragged shirt. She wasn't sure how she got to the forest, but that's where she just happened to be.
Finally, John opened his eyes. He held back a little yelp when he noticed a little girl next to him, meditating. He took in her raggedy appearance. Then, he tapped her shoulder.
She looked up at him. "Yes?"
John wrung his hands. "Uh, hi. Where'd you come from?"
"The woods, " the little girl replied, as though that wasn't obvious enough.
"Ah, I see. I'm John."
"I'm Anna," the little girl said, holding out her hand.
John was amused. This little rugrat from the woods had admirable manners.
"Anna, where's yer mum?"
Anna stared at John with a perplexed look. "Why?"
"Well, all little girls have mummies," John told her, then thought how he grew up without a mum.
"Well I don't, " Anna retorted.
"Hey, I bet we could find yer mum," John suggested.
"No thanks!" Anna said, jumping up to bolt to the tree line.
"Anna!" John shouted, chasing after her.
But he lost sight of her. He wished he had a phone to get some search party. He felt guilty for not going to find her. He went inside of his tent and tried to fall asleep.
