The breeze was gentle today and carried the smell of blooming flowers. It felt nice having the breeze kiss my face and run through my hair as I flipped the page of (F/b), my (e/c) eyes scanned the new page not missing any details of the story. As I was reading I couldn't help but get the feeling that something extreamly odd was going to occur today.

(Sorry for the short Pov but Neji's gonna be the main Pov in this oneshot because hey, why not?)

Today was a good day for training, the breeze was gentle enough where it could you down just a bit if you got too warm but it didn't make the day feel cold. And the smell of fresh blossoming flowers was a pleasent one. Walking out to the training field I instantly fell into my normal stance and activated my Byakugan searching out any birds nearby; however it wasn't just birds this time that I detected but also a girl sitting in a tree branch hidden in the leaves reading without a care in the world.

Deciding that for once I should loosen up a bit I jumped up to the branch and looked down at the girl that I now recognized as (Y/n). Of course she'd be the one reading in a tree, the strange girl.
"You seem quite interested in that book (Y/n)"
I couldn't help but silently laugh as I watched her body jolt as if she had been stung and let out a small yelp as she looked up from her book.

"Neji don't sneak up on me! Jeezum I swear you really are like a ghost"
I crossed my arms looking at her with an eyebrow raised.
"You're a ninja, you should have been able to sense me...perhaps you should train with me for a bit rather than reading"

"Sorry but I'd rather not, I'm at a really good part in the story right now ya know?"
Her (e/c) eyes drifted away from mine and fell back to her book, causing my eye to twitch with irritation before I snatched her book from her and smirked just slightly.

"Train for today with all you've got and I'll give it back"
The glare I recieved was quite funny if I was being honest but even with it being funny I kept my cool and jumped down from the tree. The sound of her feet landing on the ground and walking towards the field reached my ears before I turned and hummed with a bored tone.
"So then shall we begin?"

The sigh that escaped from her lips was deep and drawn out.
"Yhea yhea. I'm only doing this so I can get my book back"
She couldn't care less about training even with her book as the prize Hm...I have to think of something that will really motivate her.

"Say, Neji? Why are you even concerned with my training? We're not on the same squad"
I didn't exactly give a reason so I suppose she has a fair point in asking.
"I've seen how frustrated you get when your Jutsu appears much weaker than others. You come here late at night when no one is around and you train...however you give up far too easily"

Her body stiffened as the breeze tangled itself in her (h/l) (h/c) hair.
"How did you know that...I had been sure no one was around!"
I sighed as I crossed my arms.
"Well then I suppose you have a lot of work because you apparently can't even catch on to someone who's watching you"

(Y/n)'s lips pulled down into a pout as she whined.
"You'll go easy on me right?"
This time I couldn't stop the smirk that pulled at my lips.
"No, in fact, I'll be doing quite the opposite. It's nothing personal, I would just like to help you get stronger is all"

Her (e/c) eyes slightly widened in shock at my words.
"You? Of all people you want to help me get stronger? I mean I'm not complaining I'm just kinda surprised"
Placing her book on top of one of the wooden stumps I turned to her and dropped into my fighting stance.
"Well then come at me (Y/n). If you can grab your book by the afternoon then I'll go easier on you"

~Timeskip to the evening~

By the time it was dusk I was covered in sweat and panting as I leaned over and held onto my knees.
"You're going to need to train a lot harder if you're going to take this book from me"
Damn Neji is strong...well I mean I knew that before all this but I can't even get past him!...I like the guy a lot but that doesn't mean I didn't go all out.

"Fine then I'll just come train with you whenever you come back here..."
The small smile that stained Neji's lips brought a small blush to my cheeks before I quickly shook my head trying to stop blushing.
"That sounds good to me"
As he turned to leave he grabbed my book and then walkes by me and hummed in my ear.
"And by the way, the harder you try not to blush...the more you blush. It's cute"

Before I could say anything he turned my head towards him and captured my lips in a sweet and soft kiss before smirking and leaving...with my book in hand.
"You won't be getting this back until you get by me so it might be a while that we're training alone"

As he left I let myself sink to my knees with a dark crimson face and a love sick grin pulling at my lips that promised not to vanish for a while.
