Here I was, sitting at my desk with my chin resting in the palm of my hand, holding my head up as I sighed; watching the girls pine over none other than, Sasuke Uchiha while waiting for Iruka Sensei to arrive.

What is it with the girls at this academy? Are they all just morons? What's so interesting about the guy?

I was pulled from my thoughts as Shikamaru poked my arm.

"Yo (Y/n), you've got a disgusted look on your face every time you look at Sasuke or his fangirls. What gives? Don't you like the guy like the other girls?"

My (e/c) eyes locked with Shikamaru's gray ones as I looked at him with a 'you've gotta be kidding me right?' Face as I responded harshly.

For some reason, I think he asked me just to annoy me and get me to spill my thoughts out.

"He's an emotionless emo that couldn't give two cares even if he tried. His face is repulsive! He's never interested in anything and besides! He's smaller than a twig, I prefer my guys with a bit of meat on their bones jeez! I don't get what has the girls pining over him"

Shikamaru went wide-eyed and opened his mouth to speak but just ended up pointing beside me.

"What's your malfunction this time Skikamaru?"

I sighed as I soon realized why the poor boy looked so scared. Sasuke Uchiha fangirls were pretty terrifying to guys.

"How dare you insult Sasuke! You just don't understand him as well as we do! Apologize to him now you moron!"

I raised an eyebrow, that's all they had? really? I'm disappointed honestly.

"So what you're telling me, is that you want me to apologize for my opinion? Listen here girls, I don't give a flying fuck about Sasuke, nor will I ever. So do me a favor and go sit your small boney asses down and focus on your crush or hey! Here's an idea! study instead of bothering me ?"

All of the girls blinked in shock, no girl or even guy, had ever spoken up about their pining. So instead of arguing with me they finally sat down and just stared at Sasuke.

Skikamaru let out a laugh before smiling at me, at least I kept him entertained enough to keep him awake.

"Man, I never thought I'd see you light into them like that. It was pretty entertaining actually...but another matter"

I'm surprised Iruka Sensei hasn't gotten here yet, he must be late because of the homage giving him an assignment or something. Deciding to continue talking to Shikamaru instead of just studying I hummed.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Earlier you stated how you liked guys with a bit of meat on their bones right?"

Confused about where this conversation was going I nodded.

"I did, why ask?"

Skikamaru laid his head on his arms which were folded across the desk as he looked at me.

"All of the guys here are quite skinny, almost as thin as Sasuke...except one."

I let myself swallow a bit harshly at what he was starting to imply.

...oh God there's no way he figured it out that fast is there?! I know he's smart but there's not a chance of him catching on that quick!

Hoping I could throw him off the trail he was following I played dumb.

"What are you implying Shikamaru?"

Oh that smirk, no, I did not like the smirk one bit.

"I'm implying that you like our best friend, Choji. Don't you (Y/n)? And don't try playing dumb, it doesn't work with me. In fact, it just proves that I'm right"

I felt a blush creep up from my neck and spread over my cheeks and my ears.

//Choji's Pov\\

I chomped away at my potato chips enjoying their flavor as I watched
(Y/n) knock the Sasuke fangirls down a peg in front of my desk.

I had no idea she hated Sasuke that much. I mean I knew she had a faint disinterest...but this was shocking.

Once the girls sulked back to their desk they continued stalking Sasuke with their eyes. Meanwhile (Y/n) was talking to Shikamaru again. I hadn't heard what Shikamaru asked but I watched as (Y/n) lifted her eyebrow. Her (e/c) orbs shining in confusion.

"I did, why ask?"

I could see the interest that had been piqued in Shikamaru's gray eyes as he laid his head in his arms and turned to look at the (h/c) haired beauty. I couldn't help it if I found her attractive...and Shikamaru knew I had a thing for her.

"All the guys here are quite skinny, almost as thin as Sasuke...except one guy"

I knew Shikamaru wasn't calling me fat. I'm just a bit chubby is all! But where was he going with this whole conversation? I continued munching on my potato chips before pulling out another bag as I finished the first one.

(Y/n)'s voice quivered slightly, just barely enough to catch but luckily I heard it.
"What are you implying Shikamaru?"

My best friend smirked as his eyes slightly narrowed at the girl sitting in front of me.

"I'm implying that you like our best friend, Choji. Don't you (Y/n)? And don't try to play dumb, that doesn't work with me. In fact, it just proves that I'm right"

I frowned slightly.
(Y/n) liking me? Yeah right but thanks for trying Shikamaru

Well, that's what I thought until her cheeks flushed a deep crimson, as well as her ears. Her voice got quieter as she started sputtering.

"I ah...I uhm well if I were...I well..."

She quickly hid her face on her desk, her (h/l) (h/c) hair strands falling around her, helping the girl hide her flustered face.

Skikamaru took this time and turned to me, knowing I heard before and smiled before turning back to (Y/n)

"I knew it...so why don't you tell him?"

The very faint and muffled voice answered.

"Because he'd never like someone as thin as I am"

...She's beautiful why would she think that I wouldn't like that she's thin? Besides, it's not like she's as thin as Ino or Sakura. Those girls are unhealthily thin, meanwhile (Y/n) is a perfect weight. She's not too thin but she's not fat either. Not that I would mind that, it's her personality I like!

"I think Choji can decide that for himself"

(Y/n)'s head shot up and turned to look at Shikamaru.

"You don't mean..."

Skikamaru smirked and leaned to the side to reveal me grinning.

"Oh God...oh ah..."

The poor girl's face was still a deep crimson which only added to her cuteness. Finally, I spoke up.

"Don't worry (Y/n) the feelings mutual"

I smiled a bit more and set my potato chips down as her (e/c) eyes seemed to sparkle and her lips pulled up in a wide grin.

Skikamaru moaned in disgust, he was glad he could help his friends out but that didn't mean he wanted to see them be all cute together.

//Choji's Pov\\

After class let out I smiled as I saw
(Y/n) walk over to me with a wide smile plastered on her lips.

"You look really happy. Am I really good enough to make you smile?"

The girl grabbed the front of my shirt pulling my body towards her with unreasonable ease.

"Choji listen, please don't say stuff like that okay? You're perfect! Well...minus the fact you always look down on yourself but that's why I'm here now! I'm going to make sure you see just how amazing you are through my eyes!"

I felt small pink dust settle itself on my cheeks before I kissed her forehead and grinned as I watch her confidence fade to nothing as her face flushed deep crimson again.

"If that's the case, then I'm here to make you see just how amazing you are. I know you think you're weird, but, you're unique in a beautiful way"

From that day on Shikamaru was stuck with you and Choji flirting occasionally around him, luckily for him you and Choji stopped after one or two flirts.
