Summary:

An adaptation of the light novel of the same name, Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is set in a world where a war against witches and wizards has been raging for 150 years. Lately, the balance of power has finally shifted from magic to guns thanks to the efforts of the Inquisition, which has been steadily cracking down on the threat posed by magic users. Kusanagi Takeru (Hosoya Yoshimasa) is enrolled in the Anti-Magic Academy, an academy that specializes in training inquisitors. Only, since Takeru is absolutely abysmal with any weapon except for a sword, he's been relegated to the 35th Test Platoon, nicknamed the "Small Fry Platoon," a collection of self-centered failures with personality problems and no teamwork. But the 35th is in luck, because the ultra-elite pistol master Ootori Ouka (Ueda Reina), who has already been working as a witch hunter (now temporarily demoted), has just been transferred into their squad. With her help, can they overcome their weaknesses and become a stronger platoon?

Own opinion:

I'm a little excited about this series. When I first started reading about it, I was getting a Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan vibe, only not nearly that bad. Then I started reading the source material, and it's looking solid. Every main character is twisted or broken in an interesting (and occasionally amusing) way. And sure, our male lead might inexplicably insist on bringing a sword to a gunfight, but fortunately that doesn't make people treat him like a hotshot—he's a reject like the others. Oh and I wish everyone should try watching 3 episodes first before judging it :)
