Summary:

Four girls. One club. Brass instruments. Moe everywhere. Kyoto Animation is at it again. The story opens with Oumae Kumiko (Kurosawa Tomoyo) attempting to join the brass band club at her high school. The good thing is that her fellow classmates Katou Hazuki (Asai Ayaka) and Kawashima Sapphire (Toyota Moe) are already part of the club. The bad thing is that former classmate Kousaka Reina (Anzai Chika) is also part of the club. Ever since a certain event at a music contest in middle school involving both of them, the relationship between Kumiko and Reina has been strained. The story unfolds from there, as the euphonium-wielding Kumiko attempts to resolve her past with trumpeteer Reina, while also contributing to the significantly large brass band club.

Own opinion:

Woohoo! Another show from Kyoto Animation. And when you hear KyoAni, Moe comes first into your mind. :3 This show is very similar to K-on but with a lot more serious moments. And the nostalgia from the video made me listen to Cowboy Bebop’s soundtrack, a link that I’m sure Kyoto Animation is fully aware of. With this potent combination, I highly suggest viewing the first few episodes either for the excellent character designs or the great music; there is production value oozing from this show which would be a shame to miss.
