Anime Dictionary
Hello this is Yukitina again, in this chapter some of you might find it boring but I want you guys to know the common words use in anime so you won't be that confused in the future.
So let's start!
***
A
Ahoge
A single strand of hair that sticks out of a character's head. It literally means "stupid hair" and usually indicates that the character is stupid. However, there are exceptions to this, so it is not an absolute rule. Characters that have an ahoge include the Araragi family from Bakemonogatari, Himeko Katagiri from Pani Poni, America from Hetalia: Axis Powers, Konata Izumi from Lucky Star, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, Hikigaya Hachiman from "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU", Saber from Fate/stay night and Makoto Naegi from "Danganronpa".
Anime music video
Often abbreviated AMV, video clips from at least one anime series arranged to fit a musical piece playing in the background. Well there's an example of an AMV in the left, by the way I made that AMV hope you will like it.
B
Bishōjo
All hail Bishoujo! Bishoujo means beautiful girl. They usually have shining eyes joke...haha....not funny....yeah right...let's proceed to the next.
Bishōnen
"Beautiful boy"—Japanese aesthetic concept of the ideally beautiful young man some of them are more beautiful than girls if you watched Princess Princess you will know what I mean. They're so pretty that you will think that they're more attractive than yourself because I already thought about it. By the way there's also a bishounen in real life like the vocalist in a visual kei band called Alice Nine.
C
Catgirl
Cats are the best! Character with cat ears and a cat tail, but an otherwise human body. These characters often have feline habits, claw-like nails, and occasionally show fangs. Emotional expressions are also feline in nature, such as an exaggerated fur-standing-on-end when startled. These characteristics are also sometimes used on guys as well as in the case of the characters of Loveless, Kyo Sohma of Fruits Basket, and Ikuto Tsukiyomi of Shugo Chara! or Blair from Soul Eater!!
Chibi
Chibi are just so cute! Its also a Japanese term of small. Chibi are usually shown when there's a gag in the show.
Canon
It means the pair that you ship or want to be together come true or anything that is true in anime. For me NALU is CANON! Don't you agree? Nalu is Natsu and Lucy from Fairy tail.
D
Dandere
A character that is usually antisocial and silent, that eventually changes to display their sweet, romantic, and loving soft side. One of them is Kanade from angel beats.
Dere Dere
Meaning to become "love-struck", "lovey dovey". I really love this word....and I love to see girls in their dere dere mode.
Dōjinshi
Any amateur produced work. A common misconception is that dōjinshi are fan made (i.e. parody or fan fiction) and manga—this is not necessarily the case. There are many dojinshi you can see in wattpad.
F
Fan service
Like the word service it brings pleasure to the viewers...like ecchi?
Fujoshi
A female yaoi fan also known as a rotten girl....well it sounds bad but we are not perverts or something I'm a very proud fujoshi.
H
Hikikomori
A hikikomori, in English it's a shut in. These are people who refuse to go outside or seclude their selves inside their room some of them are otakus. But in anime like outbreak company, shut ins is the main character.
Henshin
Henshin! I really wish to transform like madoka from magical madoka. Or like Usagi in sailor moon. Henshin means transform.
I
Iinchō
Class representative in a Japanese school. Well in anime it's the most capable and smart character in their classroom.
Imōto
Imoto banzai! Banzai! I love younger sister they are just so cute. Have you ever watch Mikakunin de shinkoukei? Or Ore no imouto konani kawaii wake ga nai? Make sure to watch it and you will know the cuteness of having a little sister.
K
Kūdere
A character type, mostly of a female character, who is normally cold and unassuming but later reveals a softer and kinder side.
L
Lolicon
Lolicon means you have a Lolita complex or you love little kids or characters that look like kids even though they're not. I love little girls in anime but don't call us a pedophile! Call us a lolicon! There's nothing wrong with loving little girls because they are just so cute.
M
Moe
Anime's most important ingredient is MOE! Moe is generally considered to be endearing, innocent, and naïve in other words they are cute characters! Kawaii! Kawaii! KAWAII! Ahem....I'm sorry I got a little bit carried away....let's continue....

Onee-chan
Older sister, with "onee" meaning older sister and "-chan" being an affectionate suffix. The beginning "o" is a respectful honorific.
Onee-sama
Older sister, with "onee" meaning older sister and "-sama" being a respectful suffix. The beginning "o" is another respectful honorific.
Onii-chan
Older brother, with "onii" meaning older brother and "-chan" being an affectionate suffix. The beginning "o" is a respectful honorific.
Onii-sama
Older brother, with "onii" meaning older brother and "-sama" being a respectful suffix. The beginning "o" is another respectful honorific. (similar to Onii-san)
Osananajimi
Childhood friend is very common in harem or romance anime, I envy those characters with childhood friends. Because when I was young I'm always inside the house because of a weak body that's why I don't have friends...
Otaku
Anime lovers calls themselves otaku and I'm one of them but did you know that in Japan otaku are supposed to be geeks or nerds that usually people don't accept in the society. And of course if anime disappear we will die, we just love anime so much!
OTP
One True Pair! Did you ever ship or pair two persons in an anime? Then the pair that you want to come true is your OTP. My OTP is Nalu...
OVA
Original Video Animation, or OVA is a type of anime, which is intended to be distributed on VHS tapes or DVDs, and not to show in movies, or television. It can also less frequently be referred to as OAV, or Original Animated Video.
T
TsunTsun
Almost the same as tsundere, except the character shows depression after getting embarrassed. Tsun Tsun tsudere tsun tsun! Just singing a song from Yozakura quartet:hana no uta.
Z
Zettai ryōiki
Zettai Roiki! Meaning "Absolute Territory" (a term from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion), this phrase refers to the area of exposed thigh when a girl is wearing a short skirt and thigh high socks. The "ideal" skirt: thigh: sock above knee ratio is often reported to be 4:1:2.5. Zettai Ryōiki are often referred to by letter grades, where Grade A is the ideal and grade F is ankle socks, another grade, grade S, also exists consisting of Grade A in combination with ponytails and Tsundere personality.
"The distance between the knee socks and mini skirt is invincible! I can even say that it's God's Absolute Territory."
That's right well that's for guy's fetish...
