sniff...I'm still crying because of this anime...sniff...

Summary - 

  This anime is about a boy name Kosei Arima who was a piano prodigy, until his mother died of a life-long illness, leaving Kosei grief-stricken. 

His abusive mother, who also happened to be his teacher, taught Kosei to play like a robotic human metronome, note by note, without any emotion. He was able to win many piano competitions, however, after his mother's death, Kosei had a mental breakdown at a recital, as he blames himself for his mother's death. After this incident, he could not hear his playing anymore, but besides that his hearing is perfect, and he didn't touch the piano or play it for two years. He describes his life as a gray one, full of sorrow and loneliness.

Despite his prolonged grief, he would spend his time with his good friends Tsubaki and Watari to take his mind off his loss, until one day, a perky, loving girl changes everything. Her name is Kaori Miyazono who also happens to be a passionate violinist whose playing reflects her crazy free-spirited, but loving personality.

 Will Karoi really bring Kosei to happiness, or will she make his life worse? After all, she did tell him a lie... in April...

What I like - 

 - This anime was different. It didn't have all of the "magical fight scenes" that other anime's have. It was realistic and heartwarming.

- This anime was motivational and deep, and it really encouraged me to work hard and to not take life for granted. 

 - The openings were catchy. 

 - There was a lot of symbolism, and it really contributed to the story. 

 - I could relate to all the characters, and the plot really kept me up at night.

 - THE LAST EPISODE IS EVERYTHING. I WOULD GIVE EVIDENCE TO PROVE MY POINT BUT I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL IT.

What I didn't like - 

 - Other than the fact that I'm still crying because of this anime, (which, BTW, was two years ago),  I've got no complaints. :)
