Note - Although Voltron is technically not an anime, (it's Korean/American animation), it has an anime-like style and is one of my favorite shows. Even though the show is not Japanese, many people consider it to be an anime anyways.

Summary - 

Voltron: Legendary Defender is set in a science fiction universe where planetary energy called "quintessence" can be used to power vehicles and magic. The series follows the adventures of the Paladins of Voltron who must learn to work together to form the giant robot Voltron and use it to defeat the evil Galra Empire. Follow Lance, Keith, Pidge, Hunk, and Shiro into the world of fighting, danger, and romance. (Summary taken from Wikipedia, I was too lazy to come up with my own.) 

What I liked - 

 - Sci-Fi IS AMAZING

 - The show is addicting and fun to watch. I binge- watched the first 4 seasons!

 - A variety of characters are present. You can find a way to relate to the characters. (I'm kinda a mix of both Pidge and Lance.) 

 - Every episode puts you on the edge of your seat, it's a very nice show for when you are bored. 

What I didn't like - 

 -  Themes can be a bit repetitive and predictable at times, a bit cliche.
