Oh, you're not alone. I thought the main characters were first- graders too. (Their actually high schoolers.)

Summary - 

The series centers on four main characters that are in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. 

Konata is an intelligent, athletic girl but she's a lazy student, mostly because of her obsession with manga and anime and her otaku lifestyle. This anime shows the daily life of easygoing Japanese high school girls in a very amusing way.

What I liked - 

 - DA OPENING SONG

 - I liked the fact that they literally talked about food for the first seven minutes of the anime.

 - The stuff they talked about was funny and random, and it really made me laugh.

 - The main character has an obsession with anime, so I find her to be very relatable. 

What I didn't like -

 - It's really hard to pinpoint exactly what ticked me off, but I'll just say that it got kind of boring for me after the first eight episodes. It isn't exactly a "binge-watch" anime if you know what I mean, plus it's really random with no cliffhangers, so you don't have the urge to watch the next episode.
