Sigh... all the gay ships... ;)

Summary -  Haruka, Rin, Makato, and Nagisa used to be members of the same swimming club in elementary school. They win a tournament just before graduation, parting ways thereafter. Nagisa reunites with Makoto and Haruka in high school and Rin, thought to be studying in Australia, also reappears, but attends a different high school. After an informal swim race between Haruka and Rin, Nagisa suggests forming the "Iwatobi High School Swimming Club" with Makoto and Haruka, drafting in as their fourth member with Gou Matsuoka as their manager and Miho Amakata as their advisor. 

Meanwhile, Rin joins the Samezuka Academy swim club and the two schools' teams compete against one another until both reach the national level.

Why does Rin suddenly hate Haruka, his best childhood friend? Why is Rin so insistent on defeating Haruka, no matter what the cost? Will the Iwatobi swim club pull through the tough times? 

What I like - 

 - Characterization and plot, the way the anime script was written out. 

 - The anime was quite interesting because unlike most sports anime, it didn't focus only on one character defeating the other, it also focuses on friendship, as well as the importance of teamwork. I like how this anime gives life lessons in a subtle way, instead of just saying them out loud. 

 - ALL DA HOTNESS (If you watched this anime, you know what I'm talking about. 

What I don't like - 

 - In this case, lack of female characters - 

In the first season, there were only two female characters to about twenty male characters. It's not that I don't like male characters, (my favorite anime character of all time is male), it's just that I find it difficult to relate to an anime and it's characters if there isn't at least 30% female characters. 

I usually prefer anime with 50% male and 50% female, but I guess that's just me. (Kinda why I stopped watching Lucky Star! after about 8-10 episodes, there were way too many female characters in that one.)

 -  I guess there isn't much that I didn't like, it's just that the anime got kinda boring for me after the first season. I kinda just stopped watching after that...
