Catcher: "Oh, lately I've been awaking at night, out of breath and feeling scared"

Catcher wakes up suddenly.

Catcher: "I think I must be under attack, but nothing's ever there"

Catcher looks around to see only Nightmare asleep next to them.

Catcher: "Oh, I try to be the best version of me, so I push all the bad thoughts away"

Catcher lays back down, closing eyesockets, and holds Nightmare closer.

Catcher: "But, something snaps in the back of my mind, and I think about it anyway"

Catcher eyesockets open back up suddenly without lights.

Catcher: "My mind's eye is defined by contrariety"

Catcher playing with children in town.

Catcher: "I just wanna itch and scratch"

Catcher stops suddenly and runs to tree passing villagers.

Catcher arrives at tree to see Nightmare

Catcher: "People say I am not the one I claim to be"

Catcher is seen yelling at villagers.

Catcher: "Won't you tell me what you think of that?"

Villagers throw rocks.

One villager comes closer and hits Catcher with rock.

Cut to Nightmare at tree.

Nightmare: "A little fruiting body buds under my skin"

Catcher appears back at tree with Nightmare healed and holding them.

Catcher: "A trauma to the system's all it needs to begin"

Catcher falls asleep in Nightmare's arms.

Nightmare: "No, don't come any closer! It's a trick-trick-trick"

Villagers appear back at tree but Nightmare sends attacks at them and villagers leave.

Nightmare: "And it terrifies me more than I intend to admit"

Nightmare looks scared and holds Catcher closer.

Nightmare: "Left discarded and forgotten right under your nose"

Both in a black space back to back.

Catcher: "Oh, how did we end up in here? Nobody knows!"

Both:"My rotting body is the perfect fit-fit-fit"

Both turn to screen.

Both:"Unbeknownst to anybody, the mycelium grows"

Screen goes dark.

Nightmare: "Picture me, unable to sleep, not a sound rings out in the house"

Nightmare watches Catcher walking back from village.

Nightmare: "The voices tell me something is hiding underneath the ground"

Catcher immediately pulls Nightmare into arms and cuddles. Nightmare falls asleep.

Catcher: "I repress my fright, and I cover my eyes and surrender myself to my fate"

Catcher gently pets Nightmare on skull.

Catcher: "The ones like me weren't built to last, I'm not leaving it up for debate"

Catcher closes eyesockets and lays head over Nightmare's.

Nightmare: "Something's wrong with the form of my identity"

Nightmare is alone sitting in darkness. Cyan eyes and smile are in the background. Tendrils curl around them.

Nightmare: "Suddenly, I'm coming to"

Nightmare suddenly wakes up. Catcher is gone.

Nightmare: "I am not in the body that was meant for me"

Nightmare looks up at the dark apples.

Nightmare: "Tell me what I am supposed to do"

Nightmare is momentarily overlapped with Corrupted Nightmare.

(Tell me what I am supposed to do)

Screen goes dark

Both: "Another fruiting body sprouts out of my skin"

Black background with Nightmare and Catcher back to back. But corruption can be seen reaching for both of them from above.

Both: "A tiny opportunity planted within"

Both: "Now, look away I'm gonna be sick-sick-sick"

Both turn to screen.

Catcher: "I'm not one to cry, but I have been unable to since"

Catcher covers face.

Catcher: "They're coming after me"

Catcher is in village being beaten.

Catcher: "I can't run away"

Villager's are holding them down.

Catcher: "They hear me screaming in fear"

Villagers brings arm back before breaking front of skull with rock.

Catcher: "They think it's hilarious"

Catcher slumps down

Villagers' "We're coming after you"

Villagers head to tree dragging Catcher.

Villagers: "You can't run away"

Nightmare sees Villagers coming but is holding hands behind back.

Villagers: "We hear you screaming in fear"

Villagers drags Catcher infront of mob and drops. Nightmare looks in horror.

Villagers: "Isn't it hilarious?"

Villagers smile.

Nightmare: "I don't know how my mind acquired these memories"

Nightmare brings negativity apple from behind back

Nightmare: "Tell me what it all entails"

Nightmare brings negativity apple to mouth.

Corruption can be seen in the background as Nightmare bites apple.

Catcher: "Now I wish I had guarded my naivety"

Catcher forces themselves on their knees and arms

Catcher: "I have shed the universal veil"

Catcher "looks" up.

Shattered Dream is seen in background.

Shattered Dream: "I have shed the universal veil"

Nightmare: "A hundred fruiting bodies burst out of my skin"

Nightmare is leaking corruption while eating more apples.

Nightmare: "The countless amanitas are doing me in"

Nightmare looks to Catcher for a moment before bursting.

Corrupted Nightmare: "You're allowed to take me out if you so wish-wish-wish"

Corruption forms and smiles menacingly.

Corrupted Nightmare: "No such thing as second chances"

Corruption swipes down tree and begins attacking Villagers.

Corrupted Nightmare: "It's a hit or a miss!"

Villager's weapon misses.

Catcher: "And a thousand fruiting bodies are spreading their pores"

Catcher is seen by the tree. Shattered is standing watching them.

Catcher: "It's impossible to tell which ones are real anymore"

Catcher picks up last apple and eats it, healing.

Both: "My organs and the colony will
mix-mix-mix"

Catcher turns and sees Corrupted Nightmare coming to them before beginning to turn to stone.

Both: "Now my body is the keeper of the roots in my core"

Catcher completely turns to stone. Shattered holds Catcher in their arms and tendrils before screen goes dark.
