Bio:

Nellas was born in 9:00 Dragon to Emithas of the Fenor clan and Ashlea of the Lavellan clan. Her parents had met years earlier at their clans yearly gathering, however, their union was not blessed by their Keepers so they ran away together instead, coming to settle in Bladur's Gate.

Not long after the birth of Nellas, whilst travelling to the market, Ashlea was struck by a nobleman's carriage, she begged for help from passersby but was ignored. Eventually she crawled into a nearby alleyway where she died from blood loss.

Now a single-father, Emithas delved into crime to provide for his daughter. They lived a very impoverished and difficult life but Nellas remembers being deeply loved.

When Nellas's magic started to manifest, and powerful magic, Emithas was approached by Cazador Szarr who wanted to buy Nellas from him. Emithas refused, despite desperately needing the money.

A week later, Nellas discovered her father's dead body in his bed. In his will, Emithas gave Cazador guardianship of Nellas. Though Nellas has always argued that it wasn't her father's handwriting.

Nellas was kept by Cazador as a prized pet and eventual lover whom he taught to use magic and educated her in reading and writing.

His spawn were not even allowed to be in the same room as Nellas except for those selected to bring her her meals or any books he deemed important enough for her to read. That's not to say that all of the spawn followed his rules as Dalyria would often sneak into Nellas's chambers to treat any wounds she might have gained and bring her books on magic that Cazador didn't deem important, such as wild shape spells.

Nellas would study the wild shape spells and practice when she could to perfect only one shape as a means of escape until she was ready.

Finally, at twenty-six, Nellas managed to use her magic to unseal her room door and the enchantments placed upon them and ran through the palace seeking an open or unlocked window to use. Before she could find one though, she ran into Astarion, knocking herself back from him and fell to the floor. Astarion immediately realised who she was and attempted to return her to her 'room' whilst she pleaded with him to just let her go. He turned to tell her to shut up when he found himself staring into her eyes. She whispered a please, her voice shaking as she cried. Astarion released her and she fell back again to stare at him. Surprised that he did release her. He told her to go quickly and then started to walk away from her himself. Nellas rushed to an open window and climbed to stand in it. Assuming she was about to leap to her death, Astarion moved to stop her, but Nellas turned into an owl and flew into the night. Escaping her prison.

Nellas flew all the way to Denerim to escape Cazador before she had exhausted herself and her magic. She collapsed in an alley as she changed back. Her clothing was torn and soaked in blood, rain, and tears. She curled into a wall and cried, with relief and pain.

Unfortunately for Nellas, she was witnessed and soon found herself approached by a group of Templars. Exhausted, she couldn't fight back, so surrendered and was taken to the Circle at Kinloch Hold. She was put through her Harrowing the day after her arrival.

In 9:30, Kinloch Hold was overrun by demons and abominations due to Uldred's machinations. Nellas did her best to protect the younger mages.

The Circle Tower was rescued by Alin Lavellan, a fellow mage that had left months earlier to join the Grey Wardens and his companions, including Solona Amell, another Circle mage.

Once the tower was freed, Alin asked Nellas to join her and his allies to help against the Blight, knowing that Nellas was a very powerful mage. Irving and Gregoir were reluctant to allow it given that she wasn't raised in a circle and her magic was more powerful than any other mage in the Tower, but Wynne agreed to go with her to watch over her.

Over the next six months, Nellas aided the remaining Grey Wardens in their fight against the Fifth Blight, as well as built up lasting friendships with those around her. She and Alistair even delved into a romantic relationship, that sadly ended after the Landsmeet, with Alistiar becoming king and believing that the people wouldn't accept an elf queen. This hurt both of them.

Following the battle for Denerim, Nellas avoided the celebrations and instead tried to leave without a fuss. Alistair, however, knew her well enough to tell Alin.

Alin and Solona cornered their friend and scolded her for leaving without saying goodbye. Nellas argued that there is nothing left for her in Denerim. Solona invited her to join her and Zevran as they planned to travel but Nellas declined. She would be going back to the Circle. Solona reminded her that she hated the circle, Nellas defended that it was safe. Solona didn't believe this as it had not that long been taken over by demons and abominations, but for Nellas, she felt safe from Cazador in the tower.

Nellas remained isolated and withdrawn in the Circle, but through choice. Focusing on her studies in a Circle that was growing ever tense.

With the beginning of the mage rebellion, Nellas did what she could to protect the children and the innocent in Kinloch as it fell. Remaining with the younger mages in the year that followed as they sought a safe place along with a number of other mages that fled the circle with them.

Nelles was elected from the mages within their group to attend the Conclave hosted by Divine Justinia V as a means to find peace between the mages and Templars.

Personality:

Nellas is a very kind, loving, compassionate, and strong-willed person, who, while initially somewhat naive and haunted, has become all the wiser through her time travelling with the Grey Wardens as well as her survival in the years following the mage rebellion.

In addition to her general willingness for empathy, however, Nellas is also extremely friendly and can step back and enjoy the smaller moments in life forging strong connections with people, as seen with her lasting friendships with those she has come across over the last eleven years.

Even alongside all of her kindness, compassion, and empathy, when someone she cares about is hurt, she becomes far more relentless and ruthless. This also goes to anything relating to slavery and the mistreatment of mages and elves, due to her own struggles with Cazador. She also has a great distaste for slavery and those that use their power and influence to beat down on those they consider beneath them.

Outside of battle, however, Nellas can also react indignantly and negatively towards people who disrespect her, her family or those that she cares about.

Nellas also remains ruthless when facing enemies in battle and she even shows signs of enjoying a good battle when they put up a good fight.

Physical Appearance:

Nellas is famous for her beauty, even from a young age. Nellas has locks of long red hair fragrant with elfroot and clove perfume. Her face is very pale, triangular in shape with a slightly receded chin. Her eyes are cold and sparkling with a remarkable green penetrating gaze, in anger blazing with livid, green-grey fire. Those very eyes also conceal wisdom and imperiousness. Her nose is slightly long, her mouth is pale with thin and slightly crooked with soft and sweet lipstick, proud lips. On her long and slender neck hangs a black marigold with a wolf's head made of obsidian sparkling with a multitude of tiny greenstones embedded in it.

She always dresses in green and silver.

Her overall feminine shape is one of a mature high-elf and she moves with a natural, unforced grace.

Magic and Abilities:

- Magic:

Nellas is a very gifted and talented mage having spent years learning from Cazador and a number of tutors he would bring in for her and her years of study since escaping from him.

Class #1: Sorcerer

- Subclass #1: Draconic Bloodline (Blue)

- Subclass #2: Storm Sorcery

Class #2: Druid

- Subclass: Circle of the Dalish

Note: I gave her a secondary sorcerer subclass because Cazador willed it upon her to be skilled enough to cover more than one specialisation.

- Nellas doesn't make use of a staff. She can make simple gestures with her hands to cast.

Spell Note: I will be adding in original spells that work within the realm of the two games that make sense. Spells such as create fire (like create water) used for starting campfires and soothe which soothes pain and aches for wounds that cannot be healed (such as the taint).

Sorcerer:

Subclass: Draconic Bloodline & Storm Sorcery

Nellas's magic stems in the storm tree, specifically anything relating to thunder or lightning such as shocking grasp, thunderwave and shatter.

Rune Gateway: To prevent herself from being imprisoned again, Nellas has worked hard to theoretically be able to create rune gateways that act as portals between two locations. However, she can only travel between existing portals so there must be a rune gateway at her intended destination. This isn't something she is practised with actually using, but she has the knowledge to do so.

Druid:

Circle of the Dalish: "We are the Dalish: keepers of the lost lore, walkers of the lonely path. We are the last of the Elvhenan, and never again shall we submit."

Druidic Dalish are only found within two clans in the whole of Thedas, the Fenora and the Lavellan clans.

Basically, Dalish druids focus on studying and preserving Ancient Elvhen magic and knowledge with the addition of elemental and healing spells and Wild Shape, taking forms associated with the Dalish, such as halla, owl, wolf, dragon, ravens, bear, varterral, hare, owlbear and hawk.

Unlike most Dalish, the Druidic Dalish are more about truth than anything else. They seek out obscure stories and tales in search of a sliver of truth. They are far more open minded than their cousin clans and are not afraid to admit when their knowledge is flawed or wrong.

Druidic Dalish also count among them a number of talented Dreamers, seeking out the truth of their ancestry through the Fade.

Nellas started to research this aspect of herself and her history whilst living in the Alienage in Denerim and has expanded it in the years since.

She often uses spells such as spike growth, fireball, fire bolt, create fire and create water.

Abilities:

Expert Combatant: While Nellas is far more interested in magic than the warrior arts, she was still trained to fight those around her. She is a surprisingly formidable fighter in armed, magical and hand-to-hand combat.

Master swordsman: Nellas is highly proficient in swordsmanship and prefers to use her sword in battle alongside her magic.

Knife Mastery: Nellas is highly proficient with knives, though she prefers her magic.

Staff Mastery/Stick Fighting: Not only capable of using a staff for wielding her magic, Nellas is extremely skilled in using her staff as a melee weapon.

Acrobatics/Free-running: Nellas is very manoeuvrable and graceful, able to chase and outrun enemies through various terrains with no wasted effort or time, even scaling buildings and running from rooftop to rooftop with ease. In battle, she is proven very agile and evasive, able to fluidly dodge attacks from multiple directions with coordinated flips, twists, and sharp turns without losing balance.

Hunting/Tracking: Nellas is very capable of being able to hunt and track darkspawn.

Belongings:

Necklace: Nellas wears a wolf's head necklace that was given to her by Duncan when she was a child. She treasures this and it was the only thing that Cazador allowed her to keep.

Sword: In battle, Nellas can be seen using a sword fight. This is a beautifully crafted blade, which was given to her by Duncan.

Knives: Nellas has a number of throwing knives hidden in the exterior material of her boots, likely created with her knives in mind. She also has a number on her belt and usually at least two in her sleeves.

Staff: Nellas, whilst preferring her sword, does have a staff, enchanted to be collapsable, she wears this on the lower back of her armour.

Armor: Nellas wears green and silver armour

Pairing:

I have a few options for Nellas. I do want her to be her own story outside of Terys and Sabellas, and do want to do something different, but if you guys want the same pairings then I am more than willing to do that. I do love Solas, Astarion, and Cullen as love interests.

Solas and Astarion

Solas and Gale

Astarion and Lucanis

Astarion and Emmrich

Gale and Lucanis

Gale and Emmrich

Cullen and Astarion

Cullen and Gale

- As I want to go into Veilguard, she can be involved in Inquisition, grow to develop a deep friendship with Solas, and then find a love interest in both BG3 and Veilguard.

- If she has a BG3 and Veilguard love interest, then I might adjust the timeline and stuff so that she is only involved in Veilguard and not Inquisition. This would set it apart from my other BG3 x DA stories, and I am pretty sure I am almost finished Veilguard (sitting at around 70 hours gameplay at the moment and have just finished 'When plans align', which literally has the point of no return scary pop ups and all that and am about to go to the 'Isle of the Gods')

Lore Notes:

Elves:

Elves exist in Faerun, obviously, and are treated the same as humans, for the most part (So there are no alienages in Faerun), though Drow are still feared.

Ferelden and the related countries are the only ones that treat elves the way that they do.

There are Dalish clans, but unlike their Thedas counterparts, they are very present and social within Faerun, and many openly live within druid groves and are given space to live comfortably, they are even allowed to erect shrines to their own gods.

Note: Whilst elves have lost their immortality due to what the Dread Wolf did, elves in Faerun have extended lifespans. Solas will theorise that this is because they were never stunted by humans but accepted and embraced by them. But also that magic might be involved as it is seen more in wizards, sorcerers and warlock mages, and seen most in druid elves, with Halsin being the oldest currently at 350 years of age.

As age isn't really mentioned beyond characters such as Halsin, Jaheira and Astarian, adjusting this slightly can work. Maybe limit natural elf lifespans to not ruin the Dragon Age issues. As I don't plan on going into too much detail about BG1 and 2 or the events in it, then maybe limiting elf ages in Faerun to 250 (Halsin's age will have to be shifted (to around 200 instead of 350), but so far I have only heard him mention his age once), obviously Astarian is a vampire spawn and he stopped ageing when he was turned so his doesn't really matter.

The elves only age in the last couple of decades of their lifespan, so they grow up from being children to that sort of ageless, in between appearance, at about the same rate as humans, but then just keep that look until the last couple of decades.

Other Species:

Only the elves seem to be found across all the nations, but Faerun species such as gnomes, dragonborn, orcs, and tieflings are all mostly found in Faerun due to the way they are treated in the likes of Ferelden, Orlais, etc.

Githyanki are seen more often in Faerun, however, small contingencies have been seen in other places in recent years, as if scouting out events and world states, specifically during and after the Fifth Blight.

Tieflings, Dragonborn and Qunari are different species but are distantly related. They have too many similarities in design and stuff for me not to make a link between them, especially between the dragonborn and the Qunari given the story that Bull tells the Inquisitor about the mixing of dragons into their species line at some point and the stuff that came out in Veilguard with Taash.

Of course those that are sorcerers with draconic bloodline, have dragon blood in their heritage as well.

Half-Elves:

In Dragon Age, half-elves always look human, whilst in Baldur's Gate, they appear to be elves, so for this, it will be random luck of the genetic draw. So Shadowheart retains her ears, and Alistair still looks human.

Fade, Astral Plane, and the Hells:

Each of these are different 'realms', however they are all connected to one another. The Astral Plane is a 'neighbour' to the Fade, with them rubbing up against one another but never overlapping.

The Nine Hells are the infernal lower Planes of the Fade, home to Devils and divided into nine cosmological layers. Every layer is its own unique magical ecosystem, warped after the sheer presence of their rulers. The Nine Hells are locked into a never-ending Blood War with the Demons of the Abyss.

To those outside of the Fade, and specifically with Andrastianism, there is little difference between the devils and the demons.

Religion:

All religions are kept because each continent has its own religions, cultures, and beliefs. There are around 4,000 + real world religions, churches, denominations, religious bodies, faith groups, tribes, cultures, movements, or ultimate concerns, so less than 100 across what we know of DA and BG3 isn't that huge. Therefore, folk stories, histories, etc are all kept. However, I might change story locations if they fit with Thedas locations better or if those locations are references to BG1 or 2.

Mind Flayers/Illithid and the Githyanki:

As their origin isn't known in BG, then I am going to make them the creation of the Evanuris, specifically Elgar'nan. Because of this, Elgar'nan also created the Githyanki to be slaves for the Illithid who were slaves to the Evanuris.

Their rebellion began due to the loss of their controlling force, the Evanuris which subtly freed the Githyanki.

Companions and Tadpoles:

I currently have Nellas being taken by the Mind Flayers alone, whilst wandering off. But I am open to her and others being taken.

Currently, Terys has her whole thing being the Dark Urge, and Sabelas will be taken on the Storm Coast along with Cullen. I am open to it being at some other point, if this happens during Inquisition. If during Veilguard, then maybe not long after finding the Lighthouse, or after the whole Minrathous or Treviso thing.

If the romance option is to be taken alongside Nellas, then that will determine when she is taken.
