Chapter 8: Elena Hitorensa, Origins

I know I said this story was about me but just because I'm telling the story doesn't mean I'm the center of attention. By now you've already meet Elena, she was my adopted sister after Diamond slaughtered the Hanhito clan. Since then she's been a real pain in my ass. But even I won't deny she was growing on me. To determine how she met me we'll have to rewind the clock a little bit.

August 23rd 2004

Elena was 5 years old around 7:30 in the morning a woman opened her door it's a woman. She has a pretty natural curvy body with blonde long hair and mixed tan skin she has black eyes and appears to be cheerful as the next person. She gently rubbed Elena back and forth until her eyes open and is greeted by her warm smile. "Good morning my dear daughter," the woman says with a gentle smile.  Elena blinks her eyes a few times before recognizing her mother's soft voice. She sits up in bed, her heart racing with excitement. "Good morning, mom. Is it time for school?" She asks, her voice filled with hope. Her mother nods, "Yes, it's time for you to get ready. You have a big day ahead of you, sweetheart. Now get dressed you don't want to be late." she says as she picks up Elena's school clothes and lays them out neatly on the chair beside the bed. Elena gets up excited. "Okay, mommy."

Even at a young age, Elena was always cheerful and optimistic. After she got dressed she ran downstairs. The mansion I currently lived was actually own by her parents. "Daddy! Daddy!" She called like the little kid she was at the time. "Elena sweetheart." Her father is the spitting image of what Elena looks like when she grows up. Like Elena he has brunette hair, tan white skin, and brown eyes all of which Elena would inherit. "Daddy did you make pancakes?" She asked. "Well of course I did dear they are part of the Hitorensa Clan special." He said.

The Hitorensa Clan is very similar to the Hanhito Clan. Both clans have inherent powers connected and related to animals and both clans are rich. But that's where the similarities end. The Hanhito are misanthropic and preferred to live in constant isolation protecting animals from the shadows living in constant isolation and darkness, and not trusting any human being outside of people of their own clan nor do and never reveal their powers in no circumstances to the outside world hence why the name means anti-human and we use our riches foe animal benefits. The Hitorensa Clan is the exact opposite. Unlike the Hanhito, the Hitorensa are are known for their philanthropy and their openness with humans. They are often seen in public and interact freely with the world. They use their wealth to fund various charities and projects that benefit humans and animals alike, and their name says it all as it's a combination of the Japanese kanjis like 人 (Hito) which literally means person or human being and 連鎖 (Rensa) which literally means Pity, mercy, compassion. So combine those two her last name means human-compassion. The Hanhito and Hitorensa may love animals to our fullest using our powers to help them but we are polar opposites. The sun and moon. The yin and yang, light and darkness, two sides of the same coin. The Hanhito doesn't care nor have remorse of empathy towards human life while are polar opposites. The sun and moon. The yin and yang, light and darkness, two sides of the same coin. The Hanhito doesn't care nor have remorse of empathy towards human life while the Hitorensa embraces humanity and show empathy. It was these different philosophies the clans have clashed ideologies like archrivals.

The smell of freshly cooked pancakes wafted through the grand hallway, making Elena's stomach growl with hunger. She dashed into the kitchen, her small feet pattering on the marble floor. The kitchen was a bustle of activity with various clan members preparing breakfast. Her mother, a skilled chef, was busy flipping pancakes while her father sat at the head of the table, reading the morning paper. "Good morning, everyone!" Elena called out cheerfully. Her mother looked over her shoulder, her smile widening. "Good morning, Elena. Did you sleep well?" "I had the best sleep ever, mommy!" Elena exclaimed, jumping into her mother's arms for a quick hug. Her mother laughed, kissing the top of her head before setting her down. "Now go sit down with your father. Breakfast is almost ready." Elena excitedly as she sat down but as she eats she turns to see a female maid with a sad snd emo look on her face as if she's been mourning someone for years. The woman was Lauren. Before she was Elena's adoptive mother she was one of the servants alongside Tyler in the Hitorensa household in Elena's family. Elena looked at her with concern for Lauren.

Lauren was always kind to Elena, despite being a servant at the time, she treated her like one of her own. Elena noticed that she had been particularly sad lately. She remembered how she would often sneak into her room to read her bedtime stories when she was upset. "What's wrong, Lauren?" Elena asked quietly, her voice filled with genuine concern. Lauren looked up from her work, wiping a tear from her eye. "It's nothing, Miss Elena. Just some... personal matters." Elena's curiosity piqued, but she knew better than to pry into the personal lives of the servants. Plus, she had a feeling that whatever it was, it was something serious. Elena's mother took notice of this. "Elena sweetie there's no need for worry about, Lauren." She says with a sad smile. "She's... going through a lot, the two people she cared about have left this world 5 years ago so she's just needs some space, okay?" Elena nodded, though the sadness didn't leave her eyes.

Elena sat at the large oak table, surrounded by the warmth and comfort of her family. Her mother served her a plate piled high with fluffy pancakes, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of berries. Her father folded his newspaper, placing it beside his plate. "Elena, remember what we talked about last night?" He said, his expression turning serious. "Your first day of school is important. You're going to make friends, learn new things, and maybe even start to understand your powers." Elena nodded solemnly, taking a bite of her pancake. Her powers had been manifesting since she was a toddler, but she hadn't quite figured out how to control them. Her parents had always been supportive, but they were also cautious, knowing the weight of the responsibilities that came with being a Hitorensa. As Elena finished eating she went upstairs she went upstairs to get dressed for school she couldn't help but overhear her parents and Lauren talking from her room.

"Lauren at some point you have to move on." Her mother said. "I know, I know, ma'am it's just.... I can't get what happened out of my head..." Lauren said, Elena heard tears. "If only had I'd been stronger, if only had not been so ignorant and short minded..... Shara and Tommy would still be alive.... I don't think I'm worthy of Shara's Dobutsu eye that she gave me." Elena felt sad for Lauren. She didn't know who Shara and Tommy were but she knew they were important to her. She felt a strange urge to go out and find out what happened to them. She continued to listen to the conversation as her father says.

"You can't blame yourself, Lauren. We all have our battles to fight. It's not your fault." Her father's voice was firm yet comforting. "Look on the bright side my daughter is alive and well, thanks to you. You saved her life that day. You, Tyler, Shara, and Tommy were able to utilize your skills to save my baby girl and myself and my wife." He explained.

Elena felt a strange sensation in her chest. It was a mix of curiosity and sadness. Who were Shara and Tommy? And why did Lauren feel so guilty about their deaths? She knew she had to find out, but she also knew that she couldn't just barge in and ask. It was clear that this was a sensitive subject. She decided that she would try to be there for Lauren, maybe even try to cheer her up if she ever felt down. She hears her mother respond saying.

"We need to focus on the future, Lauren. Elena is growing up fast, and she needs a strong role model like you by her side. You're part of our family now, and we love you for who you are." Elena felt a warmth spread through her chest. Her mother's words were always comforting, and she hoped that they could help Lauren find some peace. "I know Shara and Tommy would want that for you, especially Shara who was like a sister to you. That's why she entrusted you with her Dobutsu." Elena's mother were as wise and pure as if she was a Jedi Master who died in Episode I. Elena heard Lauren dry up her tears and hearing her say... "Okay." Her voice soft and vulnerable.

Elena was taken aback by the revelation that Lauren had been entrusted with something called the Dobutsu by someone named Shara. The word was familiar to her, but she couldn't quite place it. Her curiosity grew as she thought about the kindness Lauren had always shown her, and the sorrow that seemed to follow her like a shadow. It was clear that Lauren had been through something traumatic, something that had changed her life forever.

Later on Elena is preparing to head to school as she turns to her mom and dad while Lauren waits for her by the car. "Bye Mommy, bye Daddy!" She says with a smile as she waves goodbye. Her mother and father both wave back, their faces filled with love and pride. "Remember what I said, Elena. Use your powers for good and don't let anyone find out about them," her father cautioned her one last time. "I promise," Elena replied, her voice filled with determination. She gets into the car with Lauren at the front seat as she drives off. On their way to school there was silence that was broken by Elena.

"Lauren, why do you look sad today?" She asked with innocent eyes. Lauren looked at her through the rearview mirror and forced a smile. "It's nothing you need to worry about, Elena. Just some memories from a long time ago." She said trying to shrug it off. Elena nodded though she knew Lauren was hiding something. She decided that she would find out what it was, but she didn't want to make Lauren feel uncomfortable. "I.... overheard your conversation with Mommy and Daddy." She said tentatively. "What was this about you not feeling worthy?" Lauren sighed deeply before she turned to look at Elena. Her eyes were filled with pain.

She sighs and says softly. "You.... really need to mind your own business sometimes, Miss Elena." But Elena wasn't going to let it go, she knew something was wrong. "I heard about Shara and Tommy. Who are they?" Lauren's expression grew sadder at the mention of their names. She took a moment to compose herself before she spoke. "They were two very important people to me. Shara was like a sister, and Tommy, Shara's husband was a close friend. They were much stronger and wiser. They protected the Hitorensa clan and used their powers to help people and animals in need. But not long after you were born they died protecting me, you, and your parents." Her voice cracked with emotion as she spoke. "Shara gave me her Dobutsu, she's a Hanhito but not like her fellow clan members. Her eye was a gift for me she entrusted it to me to use it for good... but my heart is hardened by darkness I don't think I'm worthy of her gift." She covered her right side of het face containing Shara's eye with her hand. "I feel so lost right now." She finishes.

Elena felt a pang of sadness in her heart hearing Lauren's story. She didn't know what to say, so she just sat there, holding Lauren's hand. They arrived at school and Elena stepped out of the car, her mind racing with thoughts. She had always known that Lauren was special, but she had never imagined that she had such a tragic past. She looked back at Lauren and whispered. "I'll be back soon, I'll be okay, I promise." Lauren nodded and offered a small smile. "I know you will, Miss Elena. You're a strong girl, just like your father." Before she left Elena turned to Lauren. "Luaren.... I need to tell you something."
She says with a serious tone. "What is it, Elena?" Lauren asked. "No matter what darkness you are in no matter how sad you are and no matter how far you've fallen... I will always be there for you." She said.

Lauren felt her eyes watering up. No one had ever talked to her like that since Shara and Tommy had been killed. She looked into Elena's eyes and saw the pure, untainted kindness that she had always felt from her. It was in that moment that she realized how much Elena had grown. She was no longer the scared little girl she had saved, but a compassionate and strong young girl who was willing to stand by her side no matter what. "Thank you." She said tearfully.

Elena gave her a warm smile before heading into the school. With that, Elena turned and headed towards the grand school gates, her heart feeling heavier than ever before as Lauren watched with a warm smile.

April 26th 2020

Flash forward to the present day, Elena was still unconscious and taken to the hospital after being hit by the light. Lauren watched on in shock and terror a hint of anxiety and concern in her eyes as she watched her adoptive daughter taken to the room. Tyler rushed to her side as they hugged. Avery, Cecilia, Soren, David, and Rachel are unconscious and are visited by their families. "Lauren how did this happen?" She asked worried. "I don't know. But Axela and Ethan they're unharmed. And Cheryl is on her way." Tyler said. Lauren sighs in relief. "Still though. What was that light?" She asked.

Meanwhile Diamond, Jamson, and Luna were at the cave as the Vitamortem crystal drops into the water. The trio gets up and recovers. "What the Hell just happened?" Jamson asked. "It seems the Vitamortem crystal has done its work." Luna said which only confuses Jamson more. "What are you talking about?" He asked. "We'll know soon enough but for now let's get back to base. We've done our job. Let's get this crystal back to the Ankokudzura." Diamond said as she and Luna begin walking off.

Diamond could see the confusion on Jamson's face, so she stops and turns back to him. "Jamson, trust me. The Ankokudzura has had this plan in place for centuries. We're just following the script. You know what happens when you improvise." She said with a smirk. He nods reluctantly and follows her out of the cave. "I just hope that whatever just happened was worth it."

Meanwhile at the hospital Lauren and Tyler were sitting by Elena's bed as she's still unconscious. As a female doctor came in as Lauren stood up worried. "How is she? Will our daughter be okay?" She asked frantically. The doctor took a moment to look over Elena's chart before she replied. "Mrs. Maxwell, your daughter is stable, but she's in a coma. We're not sure what caused it, but it's not something we've seen before." She said with a professional tone. "What do you mean?!" Tyler asked with worry in his voice. "We need to run more tests, but it appears to be some sort of energy surge. We're keeping her under observation for now." Lauren felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. This had to be connected to Elena's powers. The Hitorensa Clan had always been open about their abilities, but they had never encountered anything like this. She looked over at Tyler, who was equally as concerned. They had to find out what had happened and fast. As the doctor left the room, they held each other's hands, sharing a moment of silent worry. Lauren recalls Elena's words from when Elena was younger. "No matter what darkness you are in no matter how sad you are and no matter how far you've fallen... I will always be there for you." Lauren cried when recalling those words. "You've always been there for me, Elena. Now it's my turn to protect you." She whispers to her unconscious daughter.

August 23rd 2004

At school Elena when she noticed a girl with pale skin nearly white as snow, hazel eyes, and is the size of an average girl around 5 years old. She's sitting on a fence with a sad gloomy expression. Elena's curiosity got the best of her as she approached the girl. "Hello, what's your name?" She asked with a gentle smile. The girl looked at her with a sad smile. "My name is Cecilia.... Cecilia Saavedra. What's yours?" Cecilia said. "I'm Elena," Elena introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you," Cecilia said. "What's wrong?" Elena asked. "Why do you look so sad?"

"I'm just... I miss my home," Cecilia replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I used to live in a place with lots of animals. Now, I'm here, and I don't know anyone." Her eyes were filled with longing and sadness. Elena felt a pang of pity for her. She knew what it was like to feel lost and alone. "Would you like to be my friend?" Elena offered, holding out her hand. Cecilia looked at Elena's hand for a moment before taking it tentatively. "Thank you," she said, her eyes lighting up slightly. "I don't have any friends here either." And with that, the two of them began to walk to class together, their hearts a little less heavy with the comfort of companionship.

April 26th 2020

In the present day Cecilia finally woke up from her comatose state. She groaned in pain her hand on her head. "Wh-what happened...?" The blinding light had managed to knock her out unconscious just hours before. As she ponders what happened to her a doctor came in who is shocked to see her awake "Miss Saavedra you're awake!" She said as she rushed over to her. "How do you feel?" Cecilia looks around the room noticing the machines beeping around her. She looks at her hand and sees the IV attached to it. "What happened?" She asks again. "You were found uncomuious alongside five others there were also two infint children at the house but they were meraculously unharmed. You're at the hospital now for about a few hours. Do you remember anything?" The doctor asks her.

Cecilia's mind is a blur of images and sensations. She recalls the light, the intense heat, and the overwhelming sense of fear. "I... I don't know. Last thing I remembered I was at my friend's house and," she murmured, her voice still groggy from sleep. The doctor nods, scribbling something down on her clipboard. "That's okay. You're safe now. We're just trying to figure out what happened." Cecilia's eyes go wide as her thoughts go to Elena, Rachel, Avery, David, and Soren cocerned for their well being. "M-My friends! They were there with me!" She realized. "Where are they? Are they alright?" She asked in a panic voice.

The doctor's expression turns serious, "Miss Saavedra, your friends are all here in the hospital as well. They're all stable, but we're still trying to understand the nature of their condition. It's something we haven't seen before." She tries to reassure her but the fear in her voice is palpable. "What do you mean?" Cecilia asked, her voice quivering. The doctor sighs before explaining, "They're all in comas. We're not sure what caused it, but we're doing everything we can to help them."

Cecilia felt the air leave her lungs as she took in the information. She couldn't believe that something so terrible could happen to all of them. She had to do something, she just didn't know what. As the doctor left the room to check on the others, she tried to sit up, but her body felt heavy and weak. She remembered something peculiar. Elena's eyes turned aqua blue before she passed out. A sense of urgency grew within her. She had to find Elena and tell her what she had seen. Maybe it had something to do with her powers. With great effort, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up. The world spun around her for a moment, but she pushed through the dizziness. "I have to find my friends. Now." She said.

Ignoring the doctor's protests, she stumbled out of the room, her hospital gown trailing behind her. She searched room after room, her heart racing with every step. Finally, she found the room where Elena lay, surrounded by machines. Lauren and Tyler were sitting beside her, their faces etched with worry. "Elena!" She called out, her voice hoarse from disuse.
They both jumped up, surprised to see her awake. "Cecilia!" Lauren rushed over and took her in her arms, holding her tightly. "Are you okay? What do you remember?" She asked, her voice filled with concern. "I'm okay but what about Elena?" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

Tyler looked at them, his eyes wide with shock. "What's going on here?" He demanded. "I don't know there was a light that came out of nowhere, Elena was having a headache and-" Cecilia said, her voice urgent. Before Cecilia could finish Lauren put her hands on her shoulders. "Calm down, Cecilia, calm down." Lauren said. But Cecilia couldn't calm down. She was frantic, her mind racing with thoughts of what could have happened to her friends. She had to find out what that eye meant and how it was connected to the light. She pulled away from Lauren's embrace and looked at Elena, who was still unconscious. "Her eyes," she murmured. "They turned blue, just before... just before everything went dark." Lauren and Tyler exchanged glances feeling extremely worried.

November 13th 2006

In the hallway Elena was walking with Cecilia, both around 7 or 8 years old as Elena was excited. "Cecilia did you read the latest chapter in Naruto? Chapter 422 that was released 3 days ago on the 10th?" Cecilia nodded. "Yes I did, it was amazing, Elena!" She said. "But tell me, why do you love that manga so much?"Elena's eyes lit up with excitement as she began to explain her love for the series, "It's because of all the cool ninja tricks and the friendship between Naruto and Sasuke!" She said as she did a couple of ninja poses, making a small giggle escape her lips. "It's like we can be ninjas too if we had those powers!"

Cecilia watched Elena with a smile, feeling a warmth in her heart. Despite the horrors they had witnessed in the village, Elena had managed to maintain her innocence and childlike wonder. It was something she had always envied about her friend. "It's really awsome. Can I tell you my favorite part of the chapter?" Elena asked. "Of course, Elena. Tell me what you liked the most!" Cecilia said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Elena took a deep breath and began to recount the epic battle from Chapter 422. "It was when Kakashi fought Pain! Oh boy that battle is getting heated by the second!" Her excitement was contagious, and even though she had read the chapter multiple times, the thrill of sharing it with her friend made it feel fresh. "I sure hope Kakashi doesn't die though. We already lost Jiraiya, we don't need to lose Kakashi."

Cecilia nodded solemnly. "Yeah, I heard that was a sad chapter. But he's strong. He'll pull through, I believe in him!" Her voice was filled with hope and admiration for the fictional characters they had grown to love. But as they talked they noticed two boys around their age getting bullied by two boys who appeared to be 5th graders. "Hey brats! With your white tan ass skin!" One bully said, "We've got se bones to pick with you so don't try anything funny." He demanded. "Yeah other wise you're gonna have a bad time. Understand?" Another bully said. "Y-Yes." One of the boys stuttered. "Good. Now both of you hand over your lunch money or else!" The first bully said.

Elena's eyes narrowed with anger as she watched the scene unfold. She had always hated bullies and never understood why anyone would want to hurt someone else just to feel powerful. She looked at Cecilia, who nodded in agreement. They had to do something. "Hey, leave them alone!" Elena yelled, running towards the bullies. The two bullies turned to face them, looking surprised and a bit annoyed. "Who do you think you are, little girl?" The first bully sneered. But Elena didn't back down. "I'm someone who won't let you bully people for no reason." she said firmly.

The bullies laughed, but there was a hint of uncertainty in their eyes. They hadn't expected the two girls to stand up to them. "What are you gonna do about it?" The second bully challenged. "This is none of your business." But Elena was stuborn and didn't back down. Cecilia looked at Elena, surprised by her bravery. "E-Elena, maybe we should just tell a teacher." She whispered, but Elena shook her head. "No, we can handle this ourselves." She said with a fiery determination in her eyes. "Oh and just exactly what do you plan on doing, huh?" The first bully asked. "Yeah I suggest you go back to your manga books before we give you a taste of our knuckle sandwich!" The second bully added. "Matter of fact I suggest your rich Hitorensa behind get out of here or we'll do you in worse."

Elena growled at their words but again she refuses to back down as she stands in front of the two boys with a fiery look in her eyes. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" She challenged the bullies. But the bullies simply asked. "You're really asking for us to hit you aren't you?" The first bully said. "Well in that case.... we'll give you what you wanted." The second bully said and without warning they punched Elena in the stomach, causing her to double over.

But what they didn't expect was for Elena to retaliate. With a grunt she stood up and swung her fist into the face of the first bully. The impact was so strong it sent him flying back a few feet. The second bully was shocked and took a step back. "What the hell?" He exclaimed. "How did you do that?" The two bullies looked at each other, then back at Elena who was now standing tall and defiant. They had never seen a girl fight back so fiercely. "You're going to regret that, Hitorensa!" The first bully spat as he wiped the blood from his mouth. There was some form of spiritual energy small but still flowing through her. As she watches as the bullies retreat.

Elena turned to the two boys they had been bullying and offered them a small smile. "Are you okay?" She asked, her voice softer than before. They nodded, eyes wide with shock and newfound respect for the girl who had just defended them. "Thanks. I didn't know you could do that!" One of them said in awe. Cecilia rushed over to Elena, her heart racing. "Are you okay?" She asked, her eyes scanning Elena for any injuries. Elena nodded, still breathing heavily but otherwise unscathed. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit surprised that I could do that too." She admitted. "Say what's your name?" One of the boys asked.

"I'm Elena Hitorensa." She said as she looked at them both with a gentle smile. "This is my friend, Cecilia Saavedra. And you two are?" She inquired. "I'm David Jones, this here is my friend, Soren Robinson. We're new to the school." The taller of the two said with a smile. "Thanks for saving us from those bullies. They've been picking on us since we got here." The friendship between Elena, Cecilia, David, and Soren began that day.

April 26th 2020

In the present day Elena was still unconscious as Lauren and Tyler exchanged glances and realized they have to reveal the truth. "Cecilia listen." Lauren said softly. "There's something we have to tell you." But before they could say anything they heard. "ELENA!" That was the voices of Avery, David, Soren, and Rachel all trying to head towards Elena's room despite being restrained by family members. "I need to see my girlfriend!" Avery yelled. "Elena don't you dare die on us!" Rachel's voice cracked with emotion. "Come on Elena you're stronger than that." David's voice was filled with hope. "Let us see Elena!" Soren's voice was firm.

The commotion outside the room grew louder and the doctor came in. "What's going on here? You need to keep it down!" She scolded them. Lauren and Tyler looked at the situation and noticed the pleading from Avery, David, Soren, and Rachel she sighs. "You guys want to see Elena," Lauren said. "Just calm down and I'll let you come see her."

The doctor looked at Lauren and Tyler, unsure of what to do. "It's okay, she needs her friends right now. We'll be quick and keep it down." Tyler assured the doctor. The doctor nodded reluctantly and left the room. The door swung open and the four of them rushed in, their faces etched with worry and hope. Avery's eyes searched the room and landed on Elena's still form. He rushed to her side, taking her hand. "Elena, wake up. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere," he whispered. Rachel stood next to him, her eyes brimming with tears. "Come on Elena." David and Soren flanked the other side of the bed, their grips on her hands tight. "You're the strongest person I know, you can fight through this," Soren murmured. "Please wake up." Cecilia watched them, her heart aching. She knows how much Elena meant to all of them. Lauren watched this interation her heart breaking for them. "Guys..." She said her voice soft and hoarse. Avery, David, Soren, Cecilia and Rachel all looked and stand up at Lauren. "There's... something I need to tell you all about, Elena."

The room grew quiet as Lauren took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "Elena has always been special, even more so than we realized. Even Elena herself didn't know it." Lauren explained. "That all changed on the day her parents died." The five friends exchanged confused glances, but none of them spoke. They had always known that Elena's parents had died in a tragic accident, but something about the way Lauren was talking suggested there was more to the story.

August 6th 2010

It was 9:12 PM. Elena, now 11 years old was walking on the sidewalk with her parents all while Lauren is escorting them as Elena gets excited. "Wow Mommy, Daddy that was an amazing animal tour you showed everyone!" She said as they were heading home. Her mother looked down at her with a warm smile. "We're so happy you enjoyed it, Elena. Your birthright is to be the bridge between humans and animals." She replied. Elena felt a strange tug in her heart at the mention of her birthright. Her father looked down at her with pride. "Yes, and with your kindness and strength, you will be a great leader." Elena felt a sense of joy when her father told her this. "Okay daddy." She said. "You know she gets that personality from you, dear." Her mother said. Her father laughed when she says this. "I guess my good looks aren't the only thing she has." He said. "No dear she also has your heart." Her mother said. Her father felt a warmth spread through his chest. Elena hears this and asks. "Is it really true, daddy? Did I inherit your heart?"

Her father knelt down to her level and placed his hand over her chest. "Yes, Elena. You have a big heart just like me. And that heart will guide you to do great things." He said with a gentle smile. Elena felt a warmth spread through her chest as if her heart grew larger at his words. But as they continued to walk home there were two individuals one male and one female wearing the Ankokudzura's signature black and red striped robes with their hoods and masks as the family stops.

The two individuals looked at Elena with cold, calculating eyes before turning to her parents. "Hello Aaron Hitorensa it's been awhile. I see your wife and daughter are well." One indvidual said who sounded male in a disgusied voice.

Elena's father's smile faded as he recognized the member of the Ankokudzura. His eyes narrowed as he stepped in front of Elena and her mother. "What do you want?" He demanded. "Oh nothing much just wanted to settle old scores. Like the time you and your wife got in the way after I assasinated a judge 2 years ago." The member said.

A sense of dread filled Elena's heart. She knew who they were talking about. It was the day her parents had saved a judge's life by using their powers. But why were these people here now? "You don't scare us," Elena's mother said, her voice strong despite the fear in her eyes.

The male Ankokudzura member smirked. "You shouldn't have standed in our way, Hitorensa," he said. "Why? That judge didn't deserve to die." Elena's father said. "Tsk. Naïve as usual. I've already told you how the world doesn't work the way you want it to male Ankokudzura member said.

The tension grew thicker than the summer air around them as the two Ankokudzura members reached into their robes, revealing the glint of guns. Lauren's eyes widened with fear, but Elena's parents remained calm. They knew what they had to do to protect their daughter. "Elena, run!" Her mother screamed as she and her father began to fight off the assailants. The female member fires shots as Lauren grabs Elena away from the scene. "What's going on?!" Elena yells over the chaos. "We need to hide, now!" Lauren says urgently.

The two ran into the woods and can clearly hear signs of fighting even from a distance. "What about Mommy and Daddy?" Elena sobbed as they sprinted away. "They're strong. They'll be fine. We need to get you to safety first!" Lauren said, her voice strained. They as they continue running however they run into the female Ankokudzura member. "There's no escape for you two."

Lauren looked at Elena and whispered. "Remember what I taught you?" She nodded her head. "Good now when I say go, you run as fast as you can. Don't look back, okay?" Elena nodded as she watched Lauren's expression turn serious. Elena ran as fast as she can. She could hear the fighting from a distance the urget to look back was too strong but she still didn't look back. Suddenly a huge smoke erupts in the area.

Elena coughs and stumbles, but she doesn't stop running. Her eyes are watering and she can't see clearly but she knows she has to get away. She hears a loud explosion and a scream that echoes through the woods. She wants to turn around and help but she remembers Lauren's words. "Don't look back!" She keeps running until she reaches a clearing. She collapses to the ground, her chest heaving with the effort of her escape. She looks back towards the house but sees only the smoke. She's safe for now. But her heart is racing with fear. She has to tell someone what happened. She then suddenly hears the fighting stop. Poor Elena was worried. "Mommy?! Daddy?! Lauren?!" She yelled her voice filled with concern. She turned back and ran into the smoke as it starts to clear as she calls out: "Mommy?! Daddy?! Lauren?! Please... tell me you're all okay!" Elena's eyes searched through the smoke as she coughed and choked. But as the smoke cleared she saw something that would change her life forever.

She notices her parents lying on the ground blooded and badly breathing but in extreme critical conditions. "Mommy! Daddy!" She runs to her parent's side tears streaming down from her eyes as she can't believe what she is seeing. Her mother looked up at her with a pained smile, "Elena, oh thank God... you're safe..." Elena felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. "Mommy.... Daddy.... Pleass don't go..."

Her father's voice was weak but firm. "Elena... remember what we told you... about your birthright... You have to be strong... for the clan... for everyone." Her mother reached out a trembling hand and touched Elena's cheek. "You're the light in our lives, Elena. Don't let it go out." Elena continues to cry when she hears footsteps. She turns to sees Lauren covered in burises but is mostly fine and able to walk. "Elena.... Thank God you're..." But when she turns to see Elena's parents her relief turns into horror. Lauren's eyes are filled with sorrow as she looks at Elena's parent's condition. "No..." She also runs towards Elena's parents. "No no no... come on you two please.... Don't do this." Lauren begged tearfully. "Don't leave..." Elena's father coughs out blood as his breathing grows weaker. "I'm afraid... it's too late for us, Lauren." He said.

Her mother's hand falls to the ground and she looks at Elena with a weak smile. "Remember Elena, your heart is pure, keep it that way. Don't let the darkness of the world corrupt it. That's the true strength of the Hitorena Clan. To love and to protect even when the world doesn't deserve it. That's what we expect of you. That's your legacy." She whispers. "You are our daughter and we are extremly proud of you. You have to remain strong. I'm so proud to be your father, Elena." Her father whispers. "Lauren.... take care of Elena for us.." He said. "Yes.... Please look out for her." Her mother said. Lauren nods her head. "I promise. With all my life I will protect her and raise her as if she's my own daughter!" She vowed. Her parents smiled in relief as Elena remembers their words to be strong. "I'll be strong for you guys!" She cries. "I help people share them kindness! Just like you want me to Mommy, Daddy...." She vowed... "I.... I love you!"

Her parents' eyes began to dim. "We love you too, Elena." her mother said, her voice barely a whisper. "We know you'll grow up to be a great woman, Elwna." Her father said his voice barely above a whisper. Their heads tilted back their eyes close as they are permanently still having passed away. Elena's world was silent except for the sound of her own cries. Lauren wrapped her arms around the distraught girl, pulling her close and whispering words of comfort into her ear. Lauren continued to hug Elena tightly while also crying herself. "I'm so sorry... Elena." Lauren choked out. "You don't have to be strong alone. I'm here. I'll always be here for you." As Lauren continued to cry Elena opened her eyes and awakened the Hitorensa's own weapon: the Seibutsu her eyes aqua bright blue. Seibutsu means living thing, life, and creature in Japanese.

In the present day Lauren becomes emotionally when going into details. "She awakened her Seibutsu. It's basically the Hitorensa's Dobutsu except it's the polar opposite." Lauren said weakly. In the present day Lauren becomes emotionally when going into details. "She awakened her Seibutsu. It's basically the Hitorensa's Dobutsu except it's the polar opposite." Lauren said weakly. "The Dobutsu are bright red eyes fueled by the negative emotions of the Hanhito such has hatred, pain, and despair. Whereas the Seibutsu are bright blue eyes fueled by positive emotions like love, compassion, and hope. When Elena's parents were killed in that tragic night she had her first transformation. She was so filled with love and hope for the future she wanted to make shee no one went through the exact same thing she went through." Lauren takes deep breath still emotional. "Ever since her parents died she... she's trying so hard... to hang on to hope and... pass it down to others..." She said tearfully.

The room is silent as Elena's friends digest this information. All 6 of them exchaning glances. "I.... I can't.... believe this happened to her..." Cecilia said a voice a hint of empathy. Rachel looked down at Elena, her eyes filled with tears. "We need to tell her how we feel. That we love her, and that she's not alone," Rachel said. "We need to show her that she has a family here with us." Avery nodded in agreement, his grip on Elena's hand tightening. "We're her pack now." But David slightly shakes his head. "There's no need for us to worry... she knows she's not alone..." He said looking at Elena's unconscious face. "But what happened to the Ankokudzura members who did this?" Soren asked, anger lacing his voice. "After her parents deaths they vanished without a trace. It's safe to say they probably joined up with the rest of the Ankokudzura by now." Lauren replied. She puts her head low her voice shaken with a hint of guilt. "If only I had been quicker... if only I had gotten Elena to safety much sooner I... I could've helped them and her parents would still be alive." Tyler shakes his head.

"You can't blame yourself, Lauren." Tyler says placing a hand on her shoulder. "You did what you could. You got Elena out of there. That's what matters." Lauren nods, but the guilt still lingers. She looks at Elena's peaceful face, a silent promise etched in her mind. She won't let her down. "But what do we do now?" Avery asks, his voice cracking with emotion. "We need to find out what's happening to her and the others."

But something strange happened. Elena's heart monitor began to beep rapidly, the line spiking upwards. Lauren and Tyler's eyes widened as they saw their daughter's hand twitch. "Elena!" They both exclaimed as they rushed to her side. "Someone call the doctors!" Lauren said frantically. The doctor rushed in, checking the monitors and her vital signs. "It seems like she's waking up!" He said, a hint of excitement in his voice. "But we need to be careful. We don't know what triggered this and we don't want to cause any further damage." The doctors do their work while Elena's family watches.

August 7th 2010

10 years ago after her parents' death Elena wakes up and observes her surroundings and finds herself in the hospital room. The TV screen was on reporting the news.

This morning at 8:00 AM we bring you news that Arron Hitorensa and his wife Laurel Hitorensa, known philanthropists of the infamous Hitorensa Clan had been found dead last night brutally murdered. Police officers when called to the scene about fighting going on they arrived to find the Hitorensa couple dead and their daughter Elena, who was seen hugging her bodyguard and the Hitorensa's servant, Lauren Maxwell, before passing out. We will have more news to update on the situation as the police search for the killers.

Elena watches the news report with a heavy heart, the words echoing in her mind like a nightmare she can't wake from. Her mother and father, both gone. The room feels like it's closing in on her, the weight of their absence almost too much to bear. She turns her gaze to Lauren, who's sitting beside her bed, holding her hand tightly. Lauren's eyes are filled with a mix of sadness and determination. "I'm here, Elena," she whispers. "And I'll always be here for you."

Elena's grip on Lauren's hand tightens, and she nods, trying to keep the tears from falling. "Thank you," she murmurs. The room is filled with a somber silence, broken only by the rhythmic beeping of the machines surrounding her. As the door opens and a female doctor comes in.

"Ah, Ms. Maxwell, I see Elena is awake," she says gently. She's a middle-aged woman with a kind smile that seems to brighten the room. Lauren stands up immediately, her eyes never leaving Elena's face. "Yes, she just woke up." She says, her voice filled with relief.

The doctor nods and checks Elena over quickly, making sure she's okay before giving them some space. "Okay that's good to hear now... let me run some test to make sure before your clear okay?" Elena nodded when she asked this. "Great, Ms. Maxwell, could you give us the room for a moment?"

Elena nods her head weakly as Lauren gives her a comforting smile. "I'll be right outside, okay?" She says, giving Elena's hand a gentle squeeze before leaving the room. Elena nodded and watched her leave before the doctor began her examination. She felt so lost without her parents and even though she had Lauren she knew it would never be the same.

The doctor checks her over and after a few moments nods. "Everything seems to be okay physically. But I'd like to do a few minutes for observation. You've been through quite a traumatic event." She says kindly. Elena nods again, feeling numb. She didn't want to be alone with her thoughts but she knew Lauren couldn't be there all the time. "Alright let me talk to Lauren for a minute, and you wait here." The doctor goes to leave but Elena notices something that peaked her curiousity. "Excuse me miss."

The doctor stops and turns around. "What is it Elena?" She asks. "Who is that on the other room right across from me?" She was pointing at me, I was also in the hosptial I had my head down my face more numb than hers my eys fuilled with sadness and betrayal.

The doctor looks at her with a soft smile. "That's Alexa Hanhito. She's the same age as you. Not too long ago she lost her family too." The doctor said her voice soften. Elena's eyes widened with surprise and a new feeling of empathy filled me. "What happened to her?" She asked quietly. "There was a massacre at Anthropoid village the entire Hanhito Clan including her parents were killed. She's the sole survivor. According to reports her own older sister Diamond, was responsible for the masacure and... just like your parents' killers she vanished without a trace. It's truly sad. Two little girls becoming orphans in the most brutal way possible, in one night. What a cruel world we live in."

Elena's mind raced. Another child, just like her, experiencing such a deep loss. " Can I meet her?" She asked the doctor. The doctor was hesitant she understands Elena's empathy for me. "I understand your concern but right now you have to worry about you."

Elena looked at the doctor with a firmness in her gaze that belied her young age. "Please, doctor. I just want to tell her she's not alone." The doctor sighed and nodded. "Okay, but just for a little while. I'll speak to Ms. Maxwell first." She left the room and Elena could hear the muffled conversation outside. She overheard the conversation a few minutes later when the topic became about me. "So that girl over there is Alexa right?" Lauren asked. "Yes she is." The doctor. "Is... is there any known guardians or relatives that she knows of?" Lauren asked. "Unfortunately we don't know, that. She has no hospital records here at all. As far as the world is concerned she doesn't even exist" the doctor said. "I feel like it's safe to say whatever family she had left are probrably dead." Lauren said. "So what's going to happen to her?" Lauren asked.

The doctor sighed. "The social services will take care of her. Until someone comes around and is willing to adopt her she's got nowhere to go." The doctor continued with a hint of sadness in her voice. "I.... I do hope somebody adopts her soon. She's.... she's been through a lot and I think what she needs right now is a loving family." Lauren nodded her head solemnly. "I'll do my best to keep an eye on her." She said firmly. She knew what it felt like to lose everything and she couldn't stand the thought of another child going through the same pain she had experienced. "I promise to do everything in my power to help her." Elena's eyes widen when she hears this. "You.. you really mean it?" The doctor asked. "Yes, I do." Lauren responded. "Elena's going to need all the help she can get and if Alexa doesn't have anyone else, we can at least be there for her." The doctor nodded with a small smile. "That's very kind of you. I'll make sure to inform the social services but first let me tell Elena she's good to go."

Elena waited anxiously as the doctor returned. "Okay Elena, you're cleared. But remember you need rest. Now, there's someone I want you to meet." The doctor opened the door to my room. The room was dimly lit with I lying on the bed, her eyes closed with my dog Aqua by my side. "Alexa?"  The doctor's response woke me up. I open my eyes to see a young girl with short, messy brown hair and piercing brown eyes staring at me. I could feel the sadness and pain radiating off of her. She looked so lost and alone. "H-Hi..." she muttered. "I'm Elena." This was the first time Elena and I locked eyes it was almost as if it was prophesied. Like fate brought us together.

I sat up slowly, my eyes never leaving hers. "Hi Elena. I'm Alexa. What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice. The doctor then looked at me and began explaining what's happening. "Alexa, Elena has gone through something similar to what happened to you. She lost her whole family just like you. She's just like you, alone." The doctor said gently. "But the good news is I found people who are willing to adopt you like I said I would. My eyes widen at the thought of getting adopted.

Elena walked over to the bed, her eyes filled with empathy. "It's okay," she said, taking my hand in hers. "You're not alone anymore." The warmth from her hand felt like a lifeline, a promise of hope and security. I looked at her, feeling the weight of my grief begin to lift slightly. "Thank you," I whispered. The doctor then slightly pulled Elena back. Okay let me tell social services and clear her for release. "Ms. Maxwell you and Elena wait at the front with Mr. Maxwell." The doctor recommended. Elena nodded and looked back at me with a smile. "I'll be right back, okay?" She said as she left the room. Lauren and Tyler were already waiting at the front, discussing something in hushed tones. They looked up when Elena and I approached. "What's going on?" Tyler asked, noticing my presence. "Elena, who's this?" Lauren turns to me. "This... this is Alexa... Alexa Hanhito... the last survivor of the Hanhito Clan."

My heart raced as I heard Lauren say my name. I didn't know what to expect. Would they hate me? Would they blame me for what my sister had done? But instead, Lauren opened her arms and pulled me into a warm embrace. "You're coming with us, sweetie," she said, her voice gentle and soothing. "You're going to be part of our family now." The shock of the situation made my legs wobble, but I didn't pull away. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I felt a sense of belonging. The Maxwells had taken me in without even knowing my dark past, offering me a chance at a new life. Tears streamed down my face as I hugged them back, feeling a weight lifted from my soul. "Thank you," I murmured. Tyler watches on until they heard Aqua barking. "And this is Aqua, Alexa's pet and companion," Lauren said, a hint of amusement in his voice. The golden retriever had trotted over to us and was now wagging his tail, nudging at Elena's leg. Elena looked down and laughed. "Hi, Aqua," she said, petting his head.

As we all made our way out of the hospital, the air outside was cool and crisp. The car. I was looking put at the window while petting Aqua's head. I felt Elena's touch on my shoulder which brought me out of my daze. "Hey, are you okay?" She asked. I looked over at her with a sad smile. "I guess so... I just... I can't believe I have a new family." I said. Elena give me an understanding look on her face. "Don't worry Alexa." Elena said with reassurance. "No matter what happens I will always be there. This was the start of our relashinship that will last a lifetime.

April 26th 2020

At the hospital doctors were watching over Elena until of course she started opening her eyes and slowly waking up. They noticed her vitals were stable and decided to let her out of the hospital. Lauren, Tyler, Cecilia, Avery, Rachel, David, and Soren all watch on in surprise and relief as Elena sat up. Avery was the first to run to her, tears in his eyes. "Oh, thank goodness you're okay!" Avery exclaimed as she wrapped his arms around Elena. "We were so worried about you!"

Elena looked around the room, confusion etched on her face. "What happened?" She asked groggily. "You passed out after using your powers," Cecilia explained gently. "But you're okay now, that's all that matters." Elena nodded, still feeling a bit disoriented. "Elena... we'll explain everything later but first the doctors need to do some tests to make sure you are clear first." Lauren said. As the tests were run and the hours ticked by, Elena's thoughts were a whirlwind of questions. What had happened? But she nodds in understanding. After a few hours they were all eventually cleared for release. They make it back fo the mansion to discus everything. "I see.... So my Seibutsu eyes activated when the light hit."

"That's right Elena, it's a rare occurrence and it's incredible that you have such a strong connection to your heritage," Tyler said with a hint of amazement. "But we need to be cautious, we don't know what that light was or what it's capable of doing to you or others like us. We need to keep this between us for now until we can figure out more about it." Elena was silent for a moment. "How is Axela and Ethan are they okay?"

"Yes, Axela and Ethan are fine. They weren't affected by the light. They're in their room playing now. They're young, they're strong, and they're resilient. They'll be okay, Elena. But you need to rest, we'll talk about this more after you've had some time to recover." Lauren said, stroking Elena's hair. Elena sighs in relief but then realised something. "Wait. Alexa. I haven't seen her all day. Is she okay?" Her voice a mix of panic and worry as the gravity of the situation hits everyone else. Lauren and Tyler exchange glances. "Alexa said she went on a walk but... but... but... the light-" Before she could continue they heard a doorbell ring. Nervious Elena decides to get it.

Elena made her way to the door, her legs still wobbly from her ordeal. She opens the door and sighs in relief when she realized it's me. "Alexa thank God you're okay." She immedeatly hugged me. I felt a warmth and comfort almost instantly as I walked into the house. "I'm okay Elena." I said. "Alexa where were you?" Lauren asked. "I... I just needed some air. I was scared after what happened. I had to think about everything." I said. However in reality I was unconscious at Barnett's lab. Lauren nodded with understanding. "It's okay." I sat down. "I know about the light is... everyone okay?" I asked a hint of concern in my voice. Everyone nodded. I turned to Elena. "Are you okay?" I asked more worried about her. "Yes. I'm fine, Alexa." I sighed in relief. "Okay good." I started walking towards the stares. "I'm going to take a nap." Elena and the others watched. "It's okay Alexa take your time.

I was laying in bed staring at the ceiling when I recalled the voice in my head before I lost consciousness.

The Chosen Hanhito and the Chosen Hitorensa. Wielders of the Dobutsu and the Seibutsu. The time for your awakening has come.

I didn't understand what that means but one thing's for certain. I know it means something.
