We ended up running to her house as a competition. Jackie, who is clearly in better shape than me, beat me... By landslide. I barged into her house and she smiled to me. Mocking me with her eyes. She sat at her table and went through the mail. I turned on the T.V. to watch a video of a gecko singing a song. A scroll hit my head and landed on the floor. Jackie yelled, "MAILS HERE!" The Scroll looked old and clearly outdated. It was nearly tied in the middle with a red ribbon that said Dare The Rabbit Wolf. I chuckled to myself, who wrote this? Jackie seemed a little curious too. I unwrapped the ribbon the find a poorly-written letter. The first time I ran through it.. the second time, let's say, I took my time and mumbled it out loud.

Dear Dare,
We meet a while time ago. You may not remember me, but I remember you. I also found something, or someone, who belongs to you. If you want them returned to you safely please meet at the top floor of the temple tonight.

Jackie gave me a confused look, "All I got from that was someone named Gertrude."

 I sighed and through the scroll in the fire, "I guess I need to go somewhere tonight." 

Jackie gave me a questionable look, "Go where?"

I smiled, "Nothing to worry about till tonight. Anything you want to do now?"

Jackie, still not convinced I wasn't worried, "Well, I've got a few ideas to get your mind off of tonight."

I, not believing her, "And what is that?"

She laughed, "I'M GOING TO SWITCH MY DEN!"

I sat down watching her den. A sudden green light blasted through the air and smoke kicked up.

After it settled I turned to Jackie, "What was that?"

She grumbled, "Wrong den!"

The same effect happened again.

Jackie once again grumbled, "Where is it?!?"

I braced for another switch, but she had ran inside, "I forgot I had this." 

Something didn't seem right. It felt, uncomfortable. The place was full of portals. 

I lifted my back, ready to pounce, "Where do all these portals lead?"

Jackie shrugged, "I don't remember."

We went up to the top. There was a portal to every place IN the map boundaries. Everywhere but the Alpha HQ. Jackie was looking at the one that leads to Appondale. I looked at the one that leads to the Temple of Zios. She yanked me by the neck and pulled me into the Appondale portal. I grumbled making her push me into the mud. She ran up the tree so I ran after. Emo-like drawings in the tree got me thinking. 

I turned to Jackie, "What do you think The Alpha's look like in their Emo-Stage?" 

She giggled, probably at the thought of it. I mean everyone has their Emo-Stages... When I had mine The Alpha's thought I was possessed. I listened to the rock bands like Twenty eight Jammers and Frying Pan. Not to mention Leopard Parks. R.I.P.

Jackie asked, "Wanna go back to my den?" 

I nodded, "Yeah, let's go!"

Rico shot down like a bullet and landed in front of me. I jumped back and lost my balance. Jackie looked down at me and just laughed.

I grumbled, "Next time give me a full-on heart attack."

Rico grumbled, "I can ask Olive for a poison that does that." 

Jackie held her breath, and I couldn't help but do the same. 

He chuckled, "Do you always take jokes seriously? Anyways, The Alpha's would like to speak to you at once." 

I turned to Jackie, "I'll be back. I promise. Meet you at your den as soon as I can."

She nodded and walked off, "Tell Greely hi."

I turned back to Rico, "What is it about?"

Rico smirked, "Guess you'll have to get there as soon as you can. Using a bird."

My muscles stiffened. I haven't been able to switch Animals since The Phantom King attacked. 

He lifted his wings, "Is there a problem?"

I stuttered, "I... I"m Just go.. gonna walk."

Rico shrugged and took off.

He's going to tell The Alpha's something that wasn't true. I heard a small whistle and something blasted me off my feet. My first reaction was to let out a small noise. Then my second reaction was to attack my attacker.

Rico flew above me grinning, "You can't shift to another animal I see?"

It took me a second to realize what he did, "Why would you try and force me to shift?!?!"

His grin got wider, "Gilbert is going to think you gave your morphs away to The Phantoms when I fill his ears with lies. All I have to say is I saw you doing it when I went to get you."

I grumbled, "Why do you hate me?"

Rico landed, "Because YOU KILLED ME!"

Yeah, I guess that was a good explanation. He went to take off again, but for some reason, I was mad at him. I let a dark feeling take over and Phantoms shot out of portals surrounding him. Luckily nobody comes here often, so they can't see what was happening. No matter how hard he fought, The Phantoms overpowered him. 

He yelled, "Mercy!"

Pfft Mercy. Once he was down I pulled my Phantoms back. I checked his pulse, he was still breathing. There was a net hung on the tree like a hammock so I took that down. You bet your bottom badonkers I wrapped him up in it and dragged him to the HQ. I took the path nobody could see. Wait let me rephrase that... What I meant to say was, no jammer could see. I felt like I was being watched the whole time. If it was an Alpha all I had to say was, Rico did it.
