CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

"I'm leaving now, tell Felix to not wait up for me."

"Are you sure it's safe? You've got to be careful..." Someone stepped down the stairs, her hair up in a wavy pony tail, swiftly tying her red, satin robe. Although her face seemed to be frozen by the myriad of Botox she'd gotten, there was still a troubled falter on her face, nearing the front door.

Jason shrugged, turning away from the maid he'd initially talked to. The maid excused herself upon seeing her boss and walked away, probably going to do some cleaning. "It's not safe but I have to try again." He wringed, not looking at the woman.

Ever since the fire he's been hiding out here in Boston, Massachusetts. Stefano had entirely restored him and provided him with all the money and medication he would need. It took Stefano less than an hour to find him a place to live.

Felix and Claudia Alarcon were acquaintances to the Valdez family. The Alarcon's were, as well as the Valdez family, a part of the business. Apparently they were in New York quite a lot to join all the meetings. Jason hadn't known them before this all happened, but then again, who was he? Apart from the Valdez'es he had no clue about the big multitude of ties to families the business had. He was solely incognizant to this fact—he knew that.

Claudia Alarcon was quick to take him in. The Alarcon's were fairly respected, so Damian would never guess that that is Jason's hideout. Felix was hesitant at first, not wanting to give Damian, the upcoming leader, a reason to not like them, but after Stefano explained the situation he agreed with his wife.

So there Jason was. He spend his days in his guest room, sleeping or watching television, never really paying attention. He dined with Felix and Claudia every evening and they had polite small talk. Felix occasionally took him outside and Claudia did the same whenever she went to the supermarket. She usually didn't go but she told Jason that since he wasn't going out much, she would make an exception.

They were nice people. Jason appreciated everything they were doing for him, but longed for his parents, his best friends and his dorm room. He immensely missed Jazzy and Jax and couldn't imagine the pain his mom and dad were going through as they didn't know anything about his whereabouts. All they knew was that their living room was burned all the way down, thinking he was in it.

Jason clenched his jaw and pushed away the thought, turning his attention back to Claudia. "It's okay, I'll be back early tomorrow morning. I will even be back when you wake up."

She crossed her arms in front of her chest. "You still haven't told us where you're going. You went away last week and came back the same day, although you said you were going to be gone the entire day and night."

Last week Jason tried to visit Alexia, unable to be without her anymore. He just had to see how she was doing. The last time he saw her was a blur and after Damian had mentioned how she was brought to the hospital, his need to see her increased by a billion times.

However, Alexia wasn't in her dorm, although it was clear she had been a couple hours ago. Her clothes were piled up in a heap somewhere in a corner and the bed was slept on. He considered waiting but then realized that was too dangerous.

Thus, he left.

"I need to see someone. I couldn't catch her last week," Jason muttered, looking at Claudia. She pulled up an eyebrow and cocked her head to the side.

"Her?"

"Yeah, her."

There was a short silence in which Claudia had looked at him pitifully, her perfectly waved hair sliding off her shoulder. Jason ignored the gaze she was giving him and impatiently ran a hand through his hair. He didn't need Claudia's pity, he didn't need anyone's pity.

She sighed. "You know Stefano ordered us to not let you go anywhere... It's peligroso out there for you, chico."

Jason had gotten used to Claudia using Spanish words. He definitely didn't understand everything she said but he kept quiet, acting like he knew what she meant. In this case it was clear because he as well knew how dangerous it was for him to leave the house.

"I've got to go, I'll be careful." He urged.

"Who is this girl you're seeing, Jason?" She questioned. Jason's breathing hitched as he murmured, "Alexia," not meeting Claudia's eyes. Just the mention of her name spread warmth all through his body. He missed her so much.

Claudia gasped. "Alexia Valdez? Damian Albarran's fiancée? Dios mio..." She slightly shook her head, her lips parting.

Jason gritted his teeth in annoyance and turned around, giving Claudia his back. "I'm going now. I'll see you later." He opened the front door.

"Wait, Jason!" Claudia exclaimed, but Jason had already shut the door roughly.

He stepped inside the car he had borrowed from Felix and started it, his mind somewhere entirely other than in Boston as he drove out of the driveway.

Hopefully Alexia was in her room this time.

"How many times has this happened?" Teo snapped, his eyes dark and his body tense. Jason awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, feeling the exasperation and fury the three men in front of him were sending his way. He didn't meet any of their eyes and looked at the floor. "Um..."

"I don't get why you guys won't just let me break the bastard's fucking nose!" Stefano spat, taking a step closer to Jason. His fists were clenched and he seemed to be ready to crush all of Jason's bones.

"Stefano!" Alexia shrieked, her eyes widening in shock. Stefano sharply glanced at her, his ears nearly blowing out vapour. "Don't you dare defend him, are you crazy? You're fucking seventeen! Fuck," his voice trailed off and he ran a hand through his hair in disbelief.

She scowled at him, grabbing Jason's hand. "You were thirteen when you first had sex, you hypocritical dick!"

Jason gulped, watching the entire scene unfold in front of his eyes. Teodoro, Dominic and Stefano were all glaring at him, their eyes flickering from his face to the hand Alexia was holding. He'd never felt this embarrassed in his entire life.

"Don't fucking talk to me like that!" Stefano whirred, his muscles flexing visibly. Teo seemed just as angry, standing beside his older brother with the same furious look on his face. Dominic was raging as well, his lips slightly parting as if he was going to say something.

Alexia didn't seem the least bit fazed by this entire situation as she pushed herself closer to Jason, looking at her brothers defiantly. "Sorry, brother," She flared, her cheeks red in displeasure, "I'm also sorry that I was fucking my boyfriend, the one I've been dating for nearly a YEAR. I won't do it again."

"You're only making this worse for the motherfucker!" Dominic yelled. Jason cringed.

Oh God, this was so awkward.

He had, as usual, sneaked into Alexia's room. Normally they knew how to keep silent while having sex, but this time the sex was so good... better than usual. Alexia was already loud as it is, yet today she was something else.

While Jason was pounding his cock inside of her, Alexia's loud moans and screams filled—what they thought only—her room, but apparently not. The door had burst open, revealing three extremely angry and shocked men. Stefano was quick to pull his gun out, but Dominic pulled him away and Teo ordered them to get dressed and immediately go downstairs afterwards, not daring to look at them anymore.

"Tell me," Alexia hissed, "tell me what he did wrong. We were just having sex, for crying out loud! Isn't that what people do in a freaking relationship?"

Teo shook his head. "No," he took another step closer to Jason, narrowing his eyes at him as he looked back at Alexia, "not you. Everyone can go and have sex in their relationship—you're not having sex until you get married."

She let out a loud laugh. "We've been having sex for months, idiot."

Stefano swung his fist into Jason's face. Jason promptly backed away, shuddering at the sound of something in his face cracking. A pain jolted from his nose further through his cheeks and he covered the lower half of his face with his hand, furrowing his eyebrows in surprise.

"That's for touching my little sister," Stefano began, already having another fist in the air. Alexia shielded Jason in time, making sure Stefano couldn't hurt Jason again. She pushed him backwards, disbelief drawn in her eyes. "He didn't fucking touch me without my permission, moron! We are in a God damned relationship, this happens!" She turned around and cupped Jason's cheeks with both of her hands. "Are you okay baby? Did he hurt you?" She worried.

Jason shook his head. "I'm fine, don't worry about me."

"Yeah? It didn't hurt? You've got some balls on you, asshole. I'll show you pain," Stefano exclaimed, ready to fight Jason again. Alexia blocked him, her entire body shaking in anger.

"Stop it! It's unfortunate that you had to walk in on us having sex, but jeez, did you really think it wasn't happening? I'm sorry if you think that this is 1920 and I can't have sex until I'm married but I've been having sex since I was sixteen and I'm not planning on stopping. Jason is my boyfriend and I love him, and I demand you guys respect him otherwise I will cut your fucking balls off and stuff them into your mouths so you can't say anything more idiotic than you've already done. You should be glad I'm fucking my boyfriend and not some random guy!"

Jason chuckled to himself, the memory fading away again. He remembered how Dominic had punched him after Alexia had yelled that. How she thought that screaming all of those things to her already angry brothers was going to help Jason was beyond him.

She really was something.

Alexia was the fiercest, most violent woman he knew. She never backed out of a fight, she had a comeback ready for whoever was willing to start an argument with her and wasn't scared to punch someone if she really had to. Jason can't remember a time where she wanted something and couldn't get it.

On top of that, she was exceptionally beautiful. The way her hair waved over her tan skin, her plump lips and her big brown eyes, the little smile she did whenever she did something she was proud of and the way she casually touched Jason whenever they were near, just needing his touch nonetheless. Her body crazed him—he could not comprehend how a human being had access to being so erotically attractive and her racy way of talking wasn't helping either.

Jason knew that it was all a cover up. Alexia was, in fact, the most emotional woman he'd ever known. She cared deeply about what the people she loved thought of her and had a habit of caring too much.

He loved her. He loved her so much he was willing to risk his life, only to catch a glimpse of her.

Jason sighed, his eyes on the highway and his hands firmly on the steering wheel. The road from Boston to New York took three hours and forty minutes and he spent all of the time thinking about Alexia, even listening to some Drake songs for her sake.

-

It wasn't cold. Jason strolled through campus, his hood on and his eyes facing the floor as he walked in a fast pace. He couldn't help but feel on edge.

Fortunately, it was crowded. No one noticed the dark figure that slipped through the horde, never showing his face. He had his ears perked up, ready to make a run for it when anybody showed the tiniest sign of recognizing him. Clearly no one did, he was just a passing physique they didn't care about.

He missed campus. As much as he appeared pissed off and rude in this place, he'd rather be here than with Felix and Claudia, not having contact with the outside world whatsoever.

It was dinner time, so everyone was either walking back to their dorm or to the cafeteria. Jason hesitated and his quick steps faltered when he passed the cafeteria, gazing through the windows. Maria was easy to spot, her big frame moving busily as her mouth opened and closed multiple times, obviously shouting.

He chuckled, a nostalgic feeling settling itself in his stomach as he turned around and continued walking to his building. If only he could just say hi to Maria...

No.

Jason groaned inwardly, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he firmly stepped further, entering his building. Now was the difficult part—he had to make sure no one noticed him. However, his and Chaz' room was just three doors away from Alexia and Chloe's and Ryan's room was the one after that. This meant that the second one of them entered or exited their rooms, he was screwed.

He stopped walking, hastily knocking at the door as the nerves started to kick in. This was it—he was about to see Alexia again after two weeks of her thinking he was missing. Jason couldn't help but feel tingly, the excitement almost unbearable. He just wanted to hold her.

"Come in! I'm in the shower, the door's open."

Alexia's voice caused his heart to beam as he opened the door and marched in her room, rapidly closing and locking the door after him.

Her room was... her room. Jason exhaled in relief, briefly smelling the strawberry-like musk that dominated the place. Chloe's bed was neatly made in comparison to Alexia's messy sheets. To be honest, it seemed as if Chloe didn't even live in this room. There was no stuff of hers cluttered around the room while Alexia's belongings were everywhere.

He plopped down on Alexia's bed, finally able to relax as he listened to the water running in the bathroom. Alexia was humming a song lowly, one Jason immediately recognized as Best I ever had. Their song.

Jason was eager to finally see her. He has spent these last two weeks worrying his ass off, yearning for anything Alexia-related. Being here, in her room while she was in the shower, sent jitters all throughout his body and he snickered to himself. He was such a sap when it came to her.

In addition to that, he was craving for someone to talk to. Sure Felix and Claudia were great company and he wasn't entirely alone, but he couldn't talk to them the way he did to Alexia, Ryan, or Chaz. He needed to just let loose.

The water stopped running and Jason bit his lip, keeping himself from smiling from ear to ear. There was some rummaging in the bathroom, followed by Alexia yelling "One sec!"

He shuffled further on the bed, stretching his legs and leaning against the wall. After a few short seconds, the lock of the bathroom door clicked and the door sprung open, revealing Alexia.

His heart beat fast as he slid his eyes over her body. Her hair was wet, the water drops trickling on the floor the only sound in the room. Her entire skin was damp and she wore nothing but a simple towel. Her eyes widened, her lips parting but no sound came out of it.

Jason swallowed, overwhelmed with such bliss that he had to do a double take before he trusted his own sight. Alexia was here.

"Hey baby," he let out in a soft voice. His entire body burned with the strong desire to crash onto her with his warm embrace, but he sat still on the bed, unable to move a single finger. He was struck with awe.

She took a couple steps closer to him, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "J-Jason?" She whispered. Jason sharply inhaled, her voice saying his name echoing in his head. Then, his lips curled into a genuine smile.

Alexia's face broke into a wide smile too as she quickened her steps, her arms opening. Jason felt his pulse fastening as she threw herself at him, her petite arms wrapping around his neck tightly. He swathed his arms around her waist, burying his head in her moist hair as he closed his eyes and relaxed.

This is where he belonged.

"I love you. Fuck, I missed you so much princess," he murmured into her hair, his lips placed on the skin of her shoulder. She tightened her grip around him as she kissed his cheek, then kissed his jaw line. "I knew you'd come back for me." She breathed, pulling his head out of her hair to kiss the tip of his nose and his forehead afterwards.

"I love you so much," This time it was her turn to lean against his shoulder. Jason took a deep breath, kissing the top of her head. "I was so worried..." She softly sobbed. Jason felt guilt rushing through his veins as he kept his arms wrapped around her, trying to calm her down.

"I know baby, I'm so sorry."

They stayed like that, Alexia in his lap and their arms wrapped around each other. Neither of them was ready to let go, neither of them wanted to.

Alexia cried until she had no tears left. Jason fought the urge to curse, mentally scolding himself with every soft sob he heard come out of her. This was all his fault—he was the reason for her crying.

When she stopped crying and she was fully calmed down, she pulled herself away from his embrace and repositioned herself, facing Jason.

"You've got to tell me everything." She mumbled.

Jason looked away and stared at the ground, twirling a lock of her hair around his fingers. Panic shot through his body and he tried to subdue it, pulling her closer to push away all of the memories. He didn't want to think about the mess he was in... he just wanted to forget.

He just wanted Alexia.

"Jason," she spoke, pushing his face up by his chin, "come on, talk to me."

He sighed. "I don't want to."

"What do you mean 'I don't want to', do you have any idea of the misery we've been put through these past two weeks?"

"I don't fucking want to talk about it." He snapped, clenching his jaw.

"You have to!"

"No," he hissed, pulling her back on his lap. She gasped, his hands on the back of her thighs. Her legs reluctantly parted and straddled Jason. "I don't have to."

She scoffed, although her hand ran up his chest. "Jason, don't be a prick."

Jason pulled her closer, the towel around her body clambering and his gaze dropped, his stomach starting to throb in lust as he looked at her bare lower half.

"Shit," he muttered to himself, feeling how her exposed sex was placed on top of his crotch. Her breathing faltered and she gently traced her finger along his neck, although she still tried to look angry. He chuckled softly before attaching their lips, the joy spalling off of both of them.

Her hips started rolling against his crotch, the bulge in his pants growing. Alexia hungrily moaned into the kiss, which caused Jason to rip off the towel. She let out a low laugh as he roamed her body with his hands. Meshing her lips with his again, she pulled at his shirt.

Jason swiftly pulled away and Alexia yanked his shirt off of him, throwing it somewhere in the corner. Her hands prowled over his chest, clasping them into his hair as he pushed himself closer to her, feeling her nude chest pressed against his. He cursed again and cupped her ass, giving it a squeeze before travelling his hands back down her thighs.

His mouth left hers as he started sloppily kissing from the corner of her mouth to her jaw line, to her neck. Alexia shut her eyes and let out a soft moan. Jason immediately felt extra aroused and gently bit the skin of her neck. Her hands kept moving through his hair as he continued doing that, his hands rubbing circles in her inner thighs.

"I missed you, baby girl," he whispered, not meaning the two weeks that they were apart. Alexia understood as she feverishly nodded, rotating her hips on his lap urgently. He grabbed her left tit with his hand, taking her nipple into his mouth as she panted loudly.

He sucked and flicked his tongue on it while she threw her head back. Jason's other hand cupped her pussy, causing her to let out another moan, much to his liking. Her hand ran down his back, digging her nails into his skin.

His back felt... leathery?

Alexia softly pushed him away, looking at him in confusion. Jason looked back at her in disorientation, breathlessly, "What?"

"What's up with your back?"

His shoulders slumped and he connected their lips again. "Nothing you have to worry about, babe."

She kissed him back before pulling away again. "Jase, show me."

"It's not important."

"Jason, I will not shut up about this until you show me."

He groaned. "Why do we always get interrupted when I'm about to finally fuck that little pussy of yours?"

Alexia then felt the presence of his shaft pushing against her, a grin curling her lips. Jason chuckled when the realization hit her and tried to kiss her again, but she backed out. "Jason, no."

"Come on!" He snapped in annoyance, running a hand through his hair. She didn't understand, Jason needed her now more than ever. He needed her to make him forget. Memories of the fire, Damian and Alexia were taking up his head and it made him nauseous to the point where he could either faint or throw up. The only good thing in his life was her—knowing that she loved him.

"Jase..." she tried, tenderly brushing her hand against his back again. He grit his teeth and shook his head, pushing her away. "Don't. I just need you right now."

"Yes but—"

"I told you don't. Please," his voice came out shakier than he had aimed for. Alexia looked at him with an expression he didn't understand and then nodded. "Okay." She mumbled.

No fight? No nagging? No bitchiness? Jason furrowed his eyebrows. "Okay?"

She nodded again, biting her lip. "Like I said, okay."

And with that, their lips latched onto each other's again and they began making out thirstily, no interruptions this time.

-

It was dark. Jason and Alexia were tangled into the messy sheets, their arms wrapped around each other tightly. Alexia traced the tattoos on his chest and arms and Jason eased into her touch, closing his eyes. This reminded him all too well of the day Alexia left. They were in the same position; worn out from all the sex, cuddling up to each other naked and in desperation to hold on—although they knew she was going to leave sooner or later. However, right now he was the one who had to leave.

She yawned. "I've never been this tired."

He smiled, feeling a little bit proud. "Well, that's what you get from insisting we go for round seven—you should've known that I wouldn't stop."

"I thought I could handle it! We used to have sex non stop." She shot back, a smile creeping up her face. Jason snickered, squeezing her lower back. "Very true. Guess you'll be very sore tomorrow morning, won't you?"

Alexia groaned, "You're right."

He smirked shortly. "Hey," he then remembered, his smirk disappearing, "what if it wasn't me at the door? That person would've walked in on you... naked but a towel. I don't approve of that."

She shrugged. "Chloe is the only one ever nearing my room--don't wory."

He nodded, "Good."

She let out a laugh, leaning her chin against his chest so she could look up at him. He eyed her in adoration, his hand brushing her shoulders.

"You'll have to leave, huh?"

Jason's smile quavered and he nodded. "Yeah."

She puffed out a breath and closed her eyes. "Stay, please."

Her words went straight through his heart, although he knew he couldn't stay. Wrapping his arms around her posture some tighter, he kissed her head, caving into the guilt he had rushing through his vein. He didn't want to go, he wanted to stay like this forever. "I can't, Lex."

Alexia looked up again pleadingly. "But why? You still haven't told me anything. I've seen your back Jase—you need treatment."

"I think it's better if you don't know," he muttered, wishing she would just listen to him. "My back is fine, I just haven't fully recovered from the fire yet. How are the burn wounds on your calves? Do they hurt?"

"No they're fine, I am totally fine Jase. You on the other hand, you need treatment. If you let the wounds heal all on their own you'll have a huge scar on your back, who knows whether it will ever fully heal?"

Jason shushed her. "Don't worry about me baby, worry about yourself. I'm safe, I will try to visit you again and I will make sure you don't marry that fucking son of a bitch, okay?"

Alexia didn't seem to agree and was about to complain when Jason buried her head into his chest, making sure she stayed silent. "Just sleep Alexia."

"I can't sleep... I'll get a nightmare."

Jason's heart broke and he angrily shut his eyes. All his fault.

"I'm here princess, I promise you there's nothing to be scared of."

It was silent for a while. She nodded, looking at him again. "Fine, I'll sleep if you promise to get your burn wounds treated."

He nodded, he could live with that. "Promise. Now sleep, you're so annoying."

She stifled out a laugh and put her head back on his chest, closing her eyes. "Good night, babe." She mumbled, "I love you."

Jason smiled. "Good night princess."

Alexia knew Jason loved her, too. He didn't need to say it.
