Chapter Sixty Five
Krishna smiled seeing the scene in front.
He stepped down from the chariot and went towards her. "Your name is Vrishali, right?" He asked gently.
Vrishali looked at him and nodded slowly. "Why are you sad? Are you not happy with your presence at Indraprastha, where your family is waiting for you?" Krishna asked.
Vrishali stayed silent and looked down. How could she tell that she wanted Karna?
"You won't get a great warrior like him", Krishna said softly. "So, you should go behind, if you want, of course, but just don't let him leave your sight, if you want. Go behind him", Krishna said.
Vrishali looked at him. Could she go?
Krishna smiled at her encouragingly and she ran behind Karna who was now passing the farm lands.
"Angraj", she called out and he stopped, surprised and...happy? He turned around and saw her approaching him, hurriedly. "Vrishali!" He exclaimed in amazement.
"I have heard that you donate to people. Even, I want one", she declared. Karna shook his head. "I don't have anything right now as I am a common man", Karna said.
"I want the other thing, not at all related to you being a king or not", Vrishali whispered. Karna raised his eyebrows. "What?" He asked, curiously.
"Your support for a lifetime. Your status in my life as my Lord. Your protection to shield me from all evils", Vrishali said. Karna looked at her, intensely. "Life with me will be quite difficult", he reminded.
"Living a difficult life with you, will be easiest in all", she replied and he smiled at her.
He held her hand as she blushed, making him chuckle and they walked towards Hastinapura, with each other. Pandavas getting the responsibility of telling her family of the developments.
"Angraj is a great warrior. The girl will stay protected under his eyesight", Arjun commented.
Krishna chuckled in a humourless way, as the upcoming future played in his head, he said, "Angraj will remain safe till his wives are with him", he said.
River at outskirts of Hastinapura
"He was so beautiful", whispered the mermaid princess.
"He's a human, my princess and you are a mermaid. He would never accept you", said her personal maid, calmly, and received a harsh look in return.
"It's the truth, princess", said her maid, sighing.
"Who is he?" Questioned the Princess, curiosity evident in her tone as she looked at the land eagerly, awaiting his arrival again.
"Angraj Karna"
Hastinapura
"And...she confessed that she wanted to marry me", Karna said. He was sitting his wives who were looking at him. Like his usual habit, he used to ask them about all the decisions that he was making.
"You liked her in your childhood, Karna", Vrushali smiled. "And these feelings are buried but never go away", she added softly.
"So you should marry her"
Indraprastha
"When are you making us meet your sisters?" Draupadi whined, running behind Krishna who shook his head.
"I told you that it may take a week", Krishna said. Draupadi huffed hearing it and Arjun quickly pulled her in his embrace.
"We can come to Dwaraka if you say. We are equally eager to meet your sisters", Arjun suggested.
Krishna looked at him with a different glint in his eyes. "Oh...yes", Krishna said. "You will come to Dwaraka".
Hastinapura
"What did they say?" Vrishali asked eagerly as Karna came to meet her.
"They said...no...", Karna said, pretending to be sad and controlled his voice to shout that they are marrying, as he saw her face fell.
"No issues. I will go to Indraprastha then", Vrishali said, feeling her eyes welling up. She turned around to go but Karna pulled her back.
"I have a surprise for you", he whispered huskily in her ears, making her shiver, slightly.
He took her out and she widened her eyes seeing a mandap and then heard sounds of chariot, where she saw her parents coming.
She smiled in tears.
"Well...my wife, you can't go to Indraprastha, that's why I called your parents here", Karna smiled.
Vrishali widened her eyes hearing it.
"They said yes?" She asked and Karna nodded as he smiled. He pulled Vrishali in a hug, who, crying happily, hugged him back.
"I am so happy", Vrishali whispered.
"So am I", Karna replied and kissed her hair as she let his warmth calm down her raising heartbeats.
Vrishali was soon pulled back. She saw Kaurava wives and her soon to be Co-Wives and Digvija and Vasudha. She blushed as they took her to get ready.
Karna was taken by Kauravas and Ashwatthama and they laughed all the way. Ashwatthama was teasing him, the whole way.
Karna was huffing at all of them.
His parents arrived there as well and took him to get ready. There was loads of laughter and soon, he was ready.
He went outside and saw Kunti. He smiled and went towards her.
"Bless me, Rajmata", he said and touched her feet. Kunti blessed him, smiling. He smiled at her back and went towards the mandap.
Soon, Vrishali arrived and Karna kept looking at her.
She was looking extremely beautiful.
His mind wondered back to the day he first saw her and started liking her.
Only he knew, that feeling. Many things came in between but his feelings never went. They were buried somewhere in his heart, maybe, but they never vanished.
He smiled at her and she blushed.
He was taken aback!
Honestly, someone who knew Vrishali well, would know she had no features that were always standardised to be for girls. So, her blushing was something rare to see.
He chuckled thinking it.
He understood it well that love changes you.
The wedding rituals began. Flowers were showered on the couple and mantras were chanted. There was a bright and positive aura, something that would be rarely seen in the near future.
His wives were giggling and talking funny making Vrishali blush more as she exchanged suggestive winks with them.
Karna passed them a glare so they stopped but he ended up laughing as well. And, then his wives joined him in the laughter session.
They didn't notice the Pandavas and Draupadi were also here.
Everyone were amazed at the bonding the Co-Wives shared. It was a rare sight and they were gelling up so well.
Karna had done the impossible task which no man could do.
Except Krishna, of course.
The task of making the Co-Wives as sisters and being a happy family.
Authors Note- I know it's been more than a week since I updated. But, I was so busy that I rarely got time.
This book is going longer than I expected.
I am thinking of writing a book on Eklavya too. I think I will but it all depends on the ideas that I will get.
And I also wonder if I should write a Fanfiction on a girl who would be common wife to Karn and any other warrior like Draupadi.
It all depends on the ideas that I get.
