They reached the Sivi Kingdom, just after the ceremony began.

His wives were sent in royal guestroom along with the two kids while Karna and Yudhister stepped inside the swyamvar hall.

Gazes fixed on them and Karna noticed the bride, princess Devika and a girl beside her.

"Welcome! Kumar Yudhister and Angraj", The king said.

Karna and Yudhister nodded.

They went to the seats. Yudhister sat on one, when he noticed, Karna wasn't sitting on any. He got puzzled.

"Angraj?" He whispered.

"I won't sit. Otherwise, I would counted as a suitor as well", Karna said simply, standing beside Yudhister with his bow in his hand.

"Ok", Yudhister said.

After sometime, Devika and Vedika, approached both of them and they looked at the Princesses.

"This is the king of Indraprastha, Dharmraj Yudhister", Vedika introduced and Devika and Yudhister grinned at each other.

Devika put the garland around his neck as her parents stood up, smiling.

"Henceforth, I declare Kumar Yudhister as my daughter's choice and request you all to bless the couple with happiness in their married life", the king declared.

The royal men stood up, some dissappointed at not being her choice, some accepting.

Karna smiled seeing them exchanging glances of love. Vedika glanced at Karna and he smiled at her, making her smile at him back.

Rest of the guests dispersed slowly.

Yudhister and Devika took blessings from King and Queen.

The King and Queen blessed the newly wedded couple.

They were immediately taken to the royal guru, on the King's insistence while Vedika and Karna were left alone.

"Want to see the palace, Angraj?" Vedika asked.

"Sure", Karna said.

They walked in the hallway, greeting soldiers and maids. All were really amazed at Karna's down to Earth nature and hence, very happy.

He was being so friendly!

"Some sound came from this chamber", Karna muttered and Vedika looked confused. They went inside and the door closed.

They saw a bird there.

"Oh...she got hurt", Vedika exclaimed and rushed towards it. Karna got some water and rubbed it on her wound as Vedika caressed it's wings.

While, unknowingly, a maid who was passing by, locked the door from outside.

Karna and Vedika smiled as they finally, pushed the bird out and it flew high up in the sky, making them grin big at it.

Suddenly, the door opened.

Karna and Vedika turned around and saw an old grandmother.

Behind here were Devika's parents, she and Yudhister and Vedika's parents. .

"Oh my gosh! What were you doing with a stranger man in the room, you shameless girl!" The grandma exclaimed.

"We were just treating a bird. We didn't do anything. I promise, Pitamahi", Vedika said, pleading them to believe her.

"No. You were doing something for sure. How could you not think about your family? You should be rather killed", her grandmother shouted.

Karna was in disbelief.

"Grandmother. Please scold me as well", Karna said and got in front of crying Vedika, who was looking down.

"You know, even I was in the room, so I should be killed or questions should be raised on me, too. My parents should be called to punish me", Karna said.

"What?" The royals exclaimed and Yudhister looked puzzled. Where was this going?

"Why? I am a man, that's why? I can do whatever I want? Even after being married?" Karna asked. "And you didn't hesitate in questioning the girl who is your granddaughter. Tell me", Karna said.

"But Angraj, some servants have seen you with the Princess", Yudhister said, tensed.

"And the only option left is for you to marry my sister. I do trust her but that isn't going to help. For our reputation and her's respect, please marry her", Devika said.

Karna looked at Vedika, looking at him, scared and crying.

It was understandable.

She was scared about her future as she was blamed to do the deed with an unknown man. She didn't knew how the man was and how her life would be. And no one stood for girls and they had to surrender themselves to their husbands, willingly or unwillingly.

"I will marry her", Karna stated seeing no option left.

His wives reached that time.

The twins left Khyati's hands and rushed to Karna. "Pitashree", both the boy and girl said in unison and Karna smiled and lifted them up in his arms.

His wives approached him and gave a look of approval. They trusted their husband but nothing could be done to save Vedika's respect except marrying her to Karna.

His wives took Vedika with her.

Karna sighed as he was taken to get ready, for marriage. "I am sorry, Angraj. Because of me, you are here. And, you got stuck in this mess", Yudhister said.

"It's not fault, Yudhister. Things like this happen and we don't know about it. Even you didn't", Karna said. "And...the way so many marriages are happening in my life, I am not even surprised", he mumbled to himself, in an inaudible voice.

"Did you say something, Angraj?" Yudhister asked.

"No", Karna replied. He entered inside the room and sat on the seat as the servants helped him get ready. He made faces while wearing the accessories but stopped when the king and Yudhister looked at him.

God! Why couldn't he be simple like he used to stay before becoming a king? He could go anywhere and rule the kingdom in that simple outfit only. 

He was guided in the mandap.

He sat down and the rituals began. Soon, Vedika was called and he looked up to see her entering with his wives.

Karna had noticed her red eyes and he knew she was crying. He regretted the change of events.

Only if he had been more careful and heard the sounds of someone locking the room.

The wedding rituals got completed and they took blessings from everyone.

After getting served food and eating well, they got ready for going back to Anga.

His wives got ready. Vedika got ready too, in the same outfit as the other wives of Karna. They all were dressed in red dresses.

They settled in the palanquins.

Khyati glared at the twins as they peeked out again and again. "You will fall. Just sit straight", she scolded them and they both nodded, pouting.

The journey back was exhausting.

Kunti stayed there and welcomed them. She did aarti of Devika and Yudhister. Draupadi got touched when Devika smiled at her and folded her hands. She welcomed her. Yudhister was happy seeing both of them bonding. 

Kunti noticed Vedika shaking slightly and looked at Karna, who looked worried as well.

"Go to Anga, putr", she said to him. "I will go with the soldiers and inform the others. You really need to go to Anga first", she added.

Karna nodded hesitantly.

Duryodhan couldn't come because of some duties but he had sent more army and servants.

Karna bid farewell to Kunti along with the four. 

Yudhister had offered him to stay again but he refused. Devika hugged Vedika and whispered soothing words in her ears.

"What's wrong with her? I have never seen a girl so scared", Karna said. 

"To start, uncle is a bit harsh and her mother remains scared. She's probably thinking of her patni dharma and your rights on her and the challenges in later life. She was a child till morning and never thought of marriage. The sudden change of events have shocked her", Devika said.

That made sense.

Supriya was fine as she had dreamed of marriage but Vedika hadn't.

They started their journey to Anga, which was fortunately, not to far. 

After making sure, his wives had went to rest in their chambers, Karna proceeded to his chamber where he met Vedika.

He sat down beside her and noticed her fidgeting with her fingers. He saw a lone tear escaping her eye.

"It's alright, Vedika. I won't do anything", he said in an assuring voice and she looked at him. "I am not the man to force my wife. Consent matters a lot and if you don't want it to proceed right now, it won't", he promised.

"I understand how traumatised are you by the sudden change in events. Believe me, when my life changed so suddenly *remembers Shon's death* even I was shocked and scared but I still faced my challenges. And I know, even you will too. I will support you with it. And, till you get comfortable, nothing would be done", he assured. "We will get closer to each other only when you are not scared and get happy and comfortable", he said.

Vedika looked gratefully at him.

"Would you like to sleep?" Karna asked and Vedika nodded. He made her lie down and tucked her in the duvet. He kissed her forehead and she smiled at him. "Stay here only", she said and he chuckled. "Ok", he said.

She slept and he lied down on the other side, sleeping. In sleep, Vedika got closer to him and lied her head on his chest.

Karna, (warrior senses) woke up and smiled lightly. He went back to sleep.
