Chapter Four

"Kirti", Karna shook her. Kirti started stirring awake. "Are you alright?" He asked her. Kirti nodded slowly. "Princess, you won't believe, Angraj agreed to marry you", said the personal maid.

Kirti instantly got rid of her tired state. She looked at Karn who was passing her a small smile but his eyes spoke something else. "No. You can't marry me", Kirti said. Her love was not at all selfish. The maids looked shocked and Karna looked confused as she sat up.

She wanted to marry him? So what was this now?

"You love someone else and I am not selfish to marry you. I will not tie you in a marriage you don't want. I won't do this", Kirti said.

Karna held her hands and looked at her as Kirti felt goosebumps by his touch.

"Yes, I love someone else but I can't leave you alone. I will marry you, Kirti. Don't worry about my love, that's between me and her, but, I won't disrespect your love for me like this", he said. He knew Vrushali would be upset but he was left with no options.

"You are sure?" She asked. "Never been this much, before", he replied. She smiled at him. "Thank you so much", she cried happily and hugged him as he hugged her back.

"What are you doing here?" They heard a feminine voice and Karna saw Kirti's face going pale but her hold tightening around his wrist. He turned back to see who it was and cursed under his breath seeing the Queen.

"He's meeting his wife", Kirti replied. Karna got up as the Queen angrily approached them. Kirti got up and stood in front of Karna. "How dare you?" Queen asked angrily to her daughter and raised her hand.

How could she choose a low born? Well, more serious was, how could she go against them and ruin their friendship with Hastinapur?

"How dare you?" Karna questioned back ferociously and pulled Kirti back leading the Queen to slap nowhere in the air. "How dare you raise your hand on my wife? In front of everyone?" He asked.

Maids took this as the cue to leave and silently exited the room, to go and inform the royals in the court while the personal maid stayed there, worried for her princess. "You, son of charioteer, don't come between us and forget your boundaries", said the Queen.

"Enough!" Kirti roared. She came face to face to her mother. "Being a queen of a mighty Kingdom like Paurava rashtriya, you have the audacity to judge anyone on something as stupid as caste? That too, such a talented and God gifted warrior?" She asked her mother.

"You are fighting with me, for this sut putra-", Kirti cut her mother off. "Angraj Karna", she said with pride and anger on her mother.

Karna felt his heart bursting with happiness. There were good people too who didn't judge people by caste.

"Above everything, he's the man, your daughter loves. Still, you insult him like this", Kirti said. She held his hand and that time, King, Pandavas and Duryodhana appeared with Shakuni.

"I love Angraj Karna. I will only marry him. I will kill myself if you force me to marry any other person", Kirti said. Karna stood there, with neutral look. He didn't had any intention to interfere daughter and mother's talks.

"Mitra?" Duryodhana asked. He was going to marry Vrushali so the scene in front was really confusing and scaring. "Yes. I am marrying her", Karna said and gave a look to speaking about it later. Duryodhana understood it and stayed silent.

"A sut putra will marry the Princess?" Bheem asked angrily. He saw his brother Arjuna upset and he couldn't bear it. "Yes, she will", Karna said and passed a challenging look. "If you can, stop me from taking her", Karna said.

Kirti gave her hand in his and Karna held it firmly. "Don't you dare, Angraj", Arjuna roared. "I already dared, Arjun. Stop me if you can", Karna shouted back. The Kauravas held Pandavas back as Karna took Kirti who followed him hurriedly. Her personal maid followed her too.

Karna fought with all soldiers on the way and Kirti smiled in loving way at him. He reached his chariot and helped Kirti on it. "We need to go fast, Angraj", Kirti said. Karna hummed as he helped the maid too. He held the ropes buy stopped as multiple arrows showered over him but his Kavach appeared and broke them.

The maid held the Princess. Both looked scared. "Angraj", Kirti said worriedly. Karna smirked in return. "There's nothing to worry about", he said.

"You go, Mitr. I will handle the elders here", Duryodhana said and Karna passed him a grateful smile. He glared at Arjuna who was looking ready to kill.

Karna looked no less.

He aimed an arrow in the sky. "Create a wall", he whispered and closed his eyes. He opened them again and shot the arrow as all looked above confused. The arrows came back like raindrops and built a wall between Karna's chariot and others.

Arjuna chanted the mantra in order to remove it.

Meanwhile, Karna held the rope and started his chariot. "Congratulations princess", the maid said and Kirti smiled. Karna was worried though, what would he say to Vrushali now?

In Bhugatgraam

The village where all the charioteers of the kingdom lived.

Vrushali was doing household work. "Vrushali, did you hear it?" Some girls came. Vrushali looked at them and passed confused looks. "What?" She asked.

"Karn has kidnapped the Paurava rashtriya princess", one girl replied. Vrushali stood up.

"He has what?!" She shouted, unbelievably.

In Kalinga

"Sakhi. Princess Urvi has arrived", Supriya said.

Bhanumati smiled hearing it. Urvi and Bhanumati were best friends since childhood.

Bhanumati quickly got down from her swing and rushed outside to receive her. Supriya followed behind. She really liked Urvi. Urvi always treated her like a friend.

"Urvi", Bhanumati said happily and Urvi smiling hugged her. She hugged Supriya afterwards who hugged her back.

"Thank God, you arrived. I am so excited to see you here. You know that I have decided...", Bhanumati rambled about her plans as Urvi and Supriya followed her and listened to her as they chuckled.

"And, I will take Supriya with me", Bhanumati said. Urvi's smile fell and she looked at Supriya who looked down.

"No. You know right? That the Girls who accompany princesses don't get to married", Urvi said. Bhanumati shrugged. "She only knows me well. I can't live without her. I will take her", Bhanumati said adamantly.

"Supriya, do you have any issues with it?" She asked. Supriya looked down and nodded no.

Urvi sighed.

In Bhugatgraam

Vrushali stood at the village entrance, knowing Karna would definitely come to meet her. And, he did!

Vrushali rushed towards the chariot and jumped on Karna as he got down. Karna didn't wait and wrapped his arms around her, with same firmness.

"Felt like a century without you", Vrushali muttered. Karna felt his stomach churning. He couldn't tell her about his decision to marry Kirti.

She would breakdown.
