Karna brought wood back and they cooked sweet potatoes and collected fruits.

After giving soldiers to eat, which they resisted, as they were here for their duty, Karna somehow convinced them, ok, even if he had to order them to just eat.

Afterwards, they ate the food.

His wives didn't interact with Digvija, as first, they were upset she attacked him, no matter what the situation was, second, they didn't want her to feel more uncomfortable and awkward.

Kunti was sitting in front of the temple.

She had her eyes closed and hands folded as she prayed in her mind.

"Please God", she whispered. "All my six sons are away from me. While, Khandavprastha is not at all safe to visit, Anga has recently got freedom from Jarasandh. My heart is clenching in pain because of the fact of not able to meet them. I have given their responsibilities to you now, please take care of them", Kunti said.

"Listen to this mother's pleas", she added.

Her heart was paining so much. She felt so low of herself when Karna addressed him as her son to make her feel at ease.

Her own son was hesitating in saying that as she was a damn Queen Mother in front of his eyes.

She felt as if her life's cruellest moment was definitely this.

She broke down crying.

"Please forgive me, son", she cried in pain. "You are my first born, you have rights on me more than your younger brothers, yet I am forced to stay silent. I am not able to hug you, you are not able to lay your head on my lap", she said.

"It was good when you were a child, putr. You didn't need to worry about caste but when you attained adolescence, you certainly worried about it more than anything. My son came close and went far away again", she wailed.

"Abandoning you is my only mistake. I have understood that God never wanted me to do that. You kept meeting me and still, I am silent", Kunti cried.

"I want to say but something or the other rises again. Adhirath is not wrong. Already, this Kingdom brutally snatched biological son of Radha from her. How can I claim Karna now?" She mumbled.

"Duryodhan might be evil but he's the one who recognised your skills. I don't want to snatch the only true friend, you have by saying the truth. I don't want you to get pissed off between your brothers and friend because I know you won't like to leave his side", Kunti said.

"How will I answer the questions of all six of you when the truth comes out? That's the most difficult thing to do. Why is it so difficult?" She sobbed.

Anga Kingdom

After reaching Anga, they got back to their works.

"This policy worked well, Maharaj. You are truly amazing", said a minister.

Karna smiled hearing it.

"I want our army to prepare for an attack on an offender. That person has been disturbing innocent people since a while now. I want them to get prepared for the attack. I will come to check the progress", Karna said.

The minister nodded and went.

"You have anything in mind for the upcoming fest?" Karna asked his ministers.

Elsewhere, even the Queens were on work for the fest.

Kirti and Vrushali were working on the decorations, Supriya was seeing the accommodation facilities for guest, Arundhati was looking at the organisation of the veneration that will happen before the fest begins, Abhilasha was looking at the food arrangements, Esha was checking the invitations and related tasks while Kalyani was looking at the supervision of the kingdom and the people, helping them make the area look beautiful and Urvi was assisting her, taking the responsibility of the Rangoli and house decorations with the people. Prakriti had the duty of inviting sages and guiding Arundhati with all the necessary things needed for the veneration. Digvija was checking the army arrangements as many royals were coming and preparing a strategy for the upcoming mission.

Karna was doing other duties as a king and checking how the fest will go forward.

The day was going quite hectic as the fest was in upcoming week.

He was not sure if Pandavas would come as they were also busy with their kingdom but then, he also knew, no Kuru elder will come without them.

So, he let it be.

After everything was done up to the mark and just a little bit of arrangements were left, they all proceeded to take rest.

Karna smiled as his wives entered the room and made space for themselves to sit on the bed.

Arundhati and Prakriti occupied the either sides. Abhilasha and Esha sat beside Arundhati. (It was a huge bed). Kalyani and Kirti sat beside Prakriti. Vrushali and Supriya sat on the side of Prakriti.

"Can we stay with you for the night?" Esha asked.

"Of course", Karna replied and chuckled.

"Jaydrath is also coming", Karna said. His wives shifted uncomfortably as they were well aware of the reputation he had. "Please don't interact with him and try to avoid him as much as possible", he pleaded.

"Especially in my absence. Surely, if any Kaurava Prince introduces you all to him, then you can meet him as they would take care of your safety but don't meet him when alone. And, I also don't want you all to get so engaged in work and don't stay together. The maids will accompany you otherwise. I would request you to stay by my side, as much as possible", Karna said.

"Kshatriya clan is the cruellest clan at this point of time so don't leave my side", Karna said.

His Guru Parashuram was known for his hatred for Kshatriya. Karn was well aware of the evil royals as his Guru told him. He couldn't risk the safety of his wives for anything.

"Should we sleep?" Karna asked.

His wives nodded.

They changed the position to sleep in landscape. Karna laid on the centre. Arundhati, Esha, Kalyani and Kirti laid on one side while Abhilasha, Prakriti, Supriya and Vrushali laid on the other side.

"I know that it's hard but do keep your patience with Digvija. She attacked me and it's hard for you to forgive her but understand her point of view as well", Karna said.

"Will you?" He asked.

His wives didn't say anything but he was sure that they won't ignore his words.

He just hoped nothing went wrong tomorrow.
