Avni's POV

We entered in canteen full of students. Waiters were serving people. We spotted a table. Enticing smell of sandwiches and coffee hit my nostrils and I realized that I was hungry. Even though my stomach was growling, I had no appetite to eat.

On other side I saw Ricky and his group bullying someone. I did not want to see them right now but I was relieved until and unless he was not bothering me. Swathi was behind me with that girl Monica, who was talking to her in telepathy link. They had my undivided attention. My blood was boiling with rage and hurt. I felt betrayed. This was first day and I was already in problem .I pulled Neel with me so that Swathi could not take sit beside me. I hated doing such things to her but I had to safeguard myself from her. She looked hurt when she realized that I pulled Neel with me so that she couldn't sit beside me.

Swathi, Monica and veer took sit on other table. I also spotted Bhavya sitting there with her glasses on and deeply studying something from computer that looked like cars. Gati jumped from nowhere and joined their tiny discussion. I

I quaffed down my sandwiches and coffee greedily within no time still trying to hear what Swathi and her so called friend were planning. I still had to know how many more people were involved with them. Then I heard them talking again. They were talking something about warming party and there might be problem. I had no idea about what they were up to. They were talking about humanity also and actions were of devil. They wanted to stop party using someone. I had no idea about their games neither I had idea about why they are doing this. As time was passing my confusion and hatred towards them was increasing or maybe I was hallucinating with the telepathy link. My head was throbbing and eyes were burning. Still I decided to ignore thinking that it might be fatigue symptoms.

I heard some voices and obviously my head snapped towards them. Swetha was in problem. Ricky and group were bullying her while Swathi and company were in telepathy link. I could hear Swathi clearly saying "I'm here, just turn back." And that was enough for me to confirm that I wasn't hallucinating at all but it was reality. I could hear them and Swetha was also involved.

I saw Swetha putting something in Ricky's coffee, I wanted to protest but till then there was crowd gathering besides them. Swetha was pulled away from Ricky by some of our classmates. I wanted to go and tell him but before that a sharp pain erupted from back of my head and I fell into darkness.

"Avni. Please get up." I heard Swathi crying. My head was still throbbing. I got irritated when I heard Swathi's voice but decided to play cool. I was somewhere like hospital.

"What happened to me? Where are we? And how long I was out?" I inquired.

"Shhh... stop talking. You are fine. You fainted and we are in nursing and first aid room. You were out for two hours. Now lunch time is going on. All are gone for lunch. I and Swathi are waiting for you." A sweet soothing male voice said. I turned my head in direction of voice only to see Amit smiling lovingly. He was so attractive. His dark green hoodie suited his fair complexion. Some strands of his smooth hair were already falling on his forehead. His strong masculine features were visible. He was hot. I was almost staring at him without Blinking. I snapped out of my trance when Swathi cleared her throat.

"I am waiting for you outside. Look there is nurse; she may have something to tell you." He left the room and let us talks to nurse.

"You are fine Avni. Just take these pills and don't take stress. You are bit weak. Go and have lunch now. This is first day and you are ill. I hope you know you guys have training for driving karts and then warming party. You must be having work of arranging your things in hostel. See that you do minimum exertion and please don't get drunk in the party. You will be fine." Nurse said in motherly tone.

"Sure madam. I don't drink and I will take my care." I smiled sweetly bided our goodbyes and left the aid room.

"He is handsome and sweet." Swathi nudged me when she saw Amit who was waiting for us

"Shut your mouth." I shot a death glare and told her to shut up.

We had lunch in cafeteria. SIET had good cafeteria. They served perfect, healthy and fresh food. No doubt, it was remarkably clean so we did not have to worry about anything.

After lunch session was pretty good. We were given training about driving go karts. Go karts had simple mechanisms. Enter the electronic Identity card into slot, Scan your finger prints on the screen and once Kart identifies its user, it was starting. It was fun riding Karts. We tried bit. It was button operated so there were no difficulties. Whole SIET complex was ran on solar energy so were the karts.

Our training was finished within three hours and we had plenty of time till college day ends. We were planning to spend our remaining two hours. We decided to go back in the class and waited there. We were having fun knowing each other. Even though I had kept my ears open to their telepath link, I was happy. Fortunately, they did not speak and tension between us was subsiding.

"So what's about today's Party? I asked.

We were planning for party but our plans were interrupted by noise. Every one rushed out with confused faces.

The sound of sirens started echoing all over the college. We ran to the main windows to see what was happening. A dark smoke was clouding in horizon from auditorium building. Auditorium was set o fire.

"Thank God, Auditorium is set on fire now. What would have happened if it caught fire during night? We all would have roasted alive." someone said.

All of us sighed in relief. Auditorium was into flames.

"I hope no one is injured. Our party is gone. It will be canceled. I was so happy and excited." Gati seemed to be totally disappointed.

"I hope everything s fine too."

Announcement of cancellation of party was made. Every fresher were disappointed with the news. And college was called over way too early because of emergency.

The crowd dispersed through the main gates. Our hostel was little far from college but not too far. It came under college campus area but and since there were no cameras, it was outside main campus. Boy's hostel was little far from girl's hostel. Girl's hostel was guarded. Boys were obviously prohibited from entering into girl's hostel.

This was first time we entered into SIET girl's hostel. It was huge infrastructure. Our code was entered.

"There are scanners here also. This is irritating much." Monica chirped while slapping her forehead. For some reason I felt her gesture innocent and I forgot that she could be my enemy.

"Let's go to counter and take our room keys. We have to unpack our things and arrange them later." I walked to the counter.

A bright lady sitting there smiled widely at us.

"Welcome fresher's. Here are your keys to your room. Each room is shared by three people. Your partners will be joining you. Remember that you are still in guidance. Here are rules and regulations. Read this and I am your warden. You can call me Ana." The lady handed me key and smiled.

I took the instruction manual and went to my room. It was big enough for three people with attached bathroom. I had a look around. There were big windows along three beds. The room was painted in light yellow color and flooring was vitrified. To right side of room, there was L shaped study table and to left side of room, there were three bid wardrobes. The mild smell of air freshener was soothing me. Behind hostel there was thick dark forest that reminded me of my room back at home. The room was totally like my home and I was satisfied. I just crossed my fingers and waited for my roommates

My boxes were already here. I like system of SIET. They had perfect planning for their works.

I decided to unpack my boxes just wishing that I don't have Swathi or Monica as my roommates and luckily my roommates entered room.

"Hi... You are sharing room with me?" I asked them in disbelief.

"Yeah, we are roommate now. It is Nice to meet you, our roommate." Gati andSaaj almost squealed when they saw me. It was nice to see them. I already liked these people even though I had no idea about how their real nature was.

"This room is nice. Let us arrange our things." Gati went to her boxes. Saaj was thinking something looking out in the forest.

"Saaj? What are you thinking?" I asked Saaj.

"Don't you think this forest is weird?" she asked us both.

"Yes Saaj. It is weird. I heard that this forest is haunted and we can see the ghost in hostel too. I was not planning to come here but I had no other option. But I keep this always with me so that ghost doesn't harm me. Don't go out in hallways alone Saaj, You may encounter ghost there." Gati was too serious and showed a wooden locket.

Saaj was going pale. Fear was visible on her face. She relieved when she saw the locket.

"Hey, I have sandal piece too. Paranormal powers are said to be getting in control with sandal wood." Saaj said holding her locket in front of Gati. With this Gati busted in laughter making Saaj more confused.

"Do you really believe that ghost exists? I was joking Saaj." Gati said between laughter.

"When I was serious?" Saaj retorted. Now me and Saaj were laughing While Gati was frowning. Then we burst into laughter.

"Let's read instructions first." I held the manual and started reading loudly so that Saaj and Gati could hear.

After reading instructions their jaws fell on ground. Getting up at five in the morning and restricted internet use were the worst rules.

"As if I am bound by any rule till today. Hell with rules. I will do what I want to do. Let's arrange our room." Gati threw instruction manual carelessly on table.

We unpacked our boxes and arranged our things in wardrobe and drawers.

"Let us change now and go in the dining hall and eat something. I am too hungry. We will have grand tour later and see what rest people are doing in the dorm. We have to see their partners too." I said while pulling my clothes from wardrobe and rushing in bathroom.

"Yes. See that you take shower fast.

We went down together down for eating something. Dining room was full of seniors and freshers. We were welcomed. I spotted Ricky's sister there lost in some thoughts. As soon as she spotted me, her demeanor changed. She was fuming and started speaking violently.

"Because of you guys, Ricky drank heavily and he set auditorium on fire just to fulfill dare you had given to him. Now he got arrested. I couldn't tell cops because I didn't have any proofs about you guys making my brother drink and forcefully dare him to stop the party. You will have to pay for your mistakes." She yelled in venom and leaped on me attacking me with her fist on my ribs like I was her personal punching bag.

Swathi and rest people came for my help but something in me stirred before they reached us. I remembered everything from morning. About Ricky, Swathi, Monica, telepathy link, my mum's death, the fact they wanted to stop party, Swetha putting something in Ricky's drink, fire in auditorium. An undeniable and uncontrollable rage filled within my inner body and I pushed Ricky's sister with full force. She fell at least three meters away from the spot hitting her back on another table.

My sides were paining but I managed to stand up. I was feeling groggy. I ran from stairs aimlessly to nowhere. I was angry like never before. My anger was empowering and I wanted answers otherwise they were going to pay for it.

Not knowing what to do, I entered a dark room. I knew they will follow me. Today it would be either me or them.
