Introductions

Alexandra...it was such a foreign name to him, but Optimus liked how different it was from the Cybertronian names he was used to.

"Alexandra,"

Yep, he definitely liked it; it sounded so pretty,

"My name is Optimus Prime."

He tried shifting his aching body into a more comfortable position, but he barely managed to sit up and lean against the crater wall before he was forced to stop. It hurt too much to move.

Unsure of what to say to the seemingly sentient giant robot, Alexandra decided to treat him like any other living thing and greeted him.

"Well then, hello, Optimus."

She raised her hand slightly and waved. Instead of waving back, Optimus simply nodded his head in acknowledgment of her greeting. Alexandra noticed his limited movements. Alexandra frowned and looked at him,

"So hey, are you alright? You don't look too good,"

Touched by her compassion, the ghost of a sincere smile almost appeared on Optimus's serious face.

"I can honestly tell you that I've been better. My opponent, Megatron, is a brilliant fighter, and I wasn't prepared. But please, do not worry about me."

He affirmed, staying professional even though he was in a lot of pain. He was actually surprised his voice didn't crack. But now that he thought about it, where was Megatron? What was the Decepticon warlord doing? Whatever it was, it couldn't be good, but Alexandra brought Optimus out of his thoughts,

"You just got here, and you're already getting into fights? Jeez, Optimus, I guess Imma have to keep an eye on you and keep you outta trouble."

Alexandra joked, trying to get him to warm up to her since he seemed very tense.

His seriousness broke as he let a small chuckle slip.

"If you insist..."

His expression softened to one he had never had before. His optics no longer looked hard, and his smile was ever so subtle, as if it was a secret how happy she made him.

Nevertheless, his smile was still big enough for her to see. Alexandra smiled back,

"Anyways, why were you and Mega-guy going at it? You owe him money, hit on his sister, or something like that?"

The unique smile stayed on his face as Optimus gazed at Alexandra, she was making him feel so much better. He was debating how much to tell her about his situation when his self-repair system finally kicked in. It alerted him that there was a lot of damage, but the most severe was his flight mode and left arm. In order for either of those to properly work again, they would need to be fixed by a medic. he thought to himself,

'Well, that's just Prime,'

With this new information, he knew he was going to be stuck there for a while. Might as well make a friend, Optimus finally answered,

"Something like that,"

Alexandra sat at the edge of the crater, letting her feet dangle, and looked at him with a smirk,

"Mind shedding some light on that area?"

Not moving would greatly help his self-repair system, and Optimus saw no harm in letting her know about his situation. Plus, she was really easy to talk to.

"Well, if you haven't figured it out already, you should know that I am not of this world. I am an alien from the planet Cybertron."

He saw Alexandra's eyes widen at that revelation, not in fear but awe. He continued,

"It was once a peaceful planet, much like your own, but our peace was not meant to last. Megatron, a fierce gladiator from the city of Kaon, started a revolution against our government. I will admit, back in that time, there was a need for change, but he just went about the wrong way of doing it."

Optimus shook his head in disappointment but continued.

"Megatron's power attracted many followers, who now call themselves Decepticons, and they started a terrible civil war which soon became planet-wide. Every day, citizens had to choose between the Decepticons, the ones lusting for power and total domination of the universe, or the Autobots, a band of warriors fighting for peace throughout the galaxy. Our war is killing our planet and its natural supply of energon, the fuel, and lifeblood of my species. So now, we Autobots fight the Decepticons over the control of my planet's dwindling supply of energon."

Alexandra tilted her head,

"Wait, we? You're an Autobot?"

"Yes, I am. A Decepticon would have most likely inflicted harm on you by now."

Alexandra nervously laughed,

"Good thing I found an autobot then, otherwise that could have been bad. Whew..."

She pretended to wipe sweat off her head.

"If it makes you feel any better, I am also glad that you found me. I feel that not everyone would have been as understanding as you are."

Her cheeks turned rosy, and she could no longer look him in the eye. A shy smile formed on her face.

She shrugged, looking back at him,

"It's no problem really. I feel that you gotta be nice to everyone you meet, even if they are giant alien robots."

Another thought occurred to her,

"So, since you're in a war and you're an Autobot, that means you're a soldier, right?"

Alexandra couldn't help but ask, she had a soft spot for soldiers.

"Yes,"

Optimus saw how excited she got by his simple answer. He glanced at her shirt again before thinking,

'Hmm, she must be interested in military things. That explains the 'Uncle Sam' shirt.

"I know your situation sucks, but that's awesome! I totally respect soldiers because of what they do. You gotta tell me your rank! My older sister is a Commander,"

Alexandra thought,

'An alien, military, giant, robot...can't get much better than that.'

"I am the Leader of the Autobots."

'Okay, it just got better...'
