Spider Island

- Chapter Fourteen -

Mr. Davenport had given everyone the day off, and had taken the students on the their first official field trip to Gettysburg. You, nor Leo wanted to go, so you both decided to just stay at the academy. As you were talking to Leo, Douglas came into the Hydra-loop area, talking on the phone.

"Yes, Donnie, I'll take out the garbage," there was a slight pause as Douglas continued, "No Donnie, I won't experiment on the kids' bionics while they're asleep again."

You and Leo looked up at Douglas as Douglas covered the phone, "It was one time, and you didn't even notice," Douglas then went back on talking on the phone, "Gotta go. Yes, I miss you too." You looked at Douglas weirdly as he said the last part quietly, "Donnie and the students made it to Gettysburg for their fist official field trip."

"Well that's cool," you nodded.

"Bionic kids and cannonballs. What can possibly go wrong?" Leo added sarcastically, as you smiled.

"You both are his students. Why didn't you guys go?" Douglas asked.

"Big D thinks we're there. When he takes the attendance, we paid a kid five bucks to yell 'Here' and another kid ten bucks to yell 'Shut it, Leo'," Leo explained.

"I came up with the genius idea, thank you very much," you spoke, as Douglas looked at you impressed.

Bree then walked in, holding a few books in her hand.

"Oh, hey, Bree. We ditched the field trip so we can hang out with you guys. What should we do on our day off?" Leo asked smiling.

"Our day off? No, this is my day off, and I've already got it planned out. I'm gonna sit by the pool and read a book. I'd ask you to join me, but I live and work with my family, so I'm sick of all of you except [Name]," Bree explained.

"Aww, thank you Bree," you said, smiling smugly at Leo.

Chase then walked by as Leo spoke, "Hey, Chase wanna hang out?"

"Sorry Leo, gotta make the most of my day off. I already organized the weapons vault, alkalized the island's water system, and taught a cute little group of dolphins to wave hello," Chase gestured waving, "Next up, some light reading, oh."

Chase then took a book that Bree was holding, and flipped through all the pages within a few seconds, "She ended up marring the vampire? I did not see that coming," he smiled as Bree snatched the book back.

Adam then came waking in as Leo spoke, "Hey, Adam-"

"No," Adam cut Leo off.

"I didn't even ask you anything yet," Leo stated.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead," Adam smiled.

"Thank you. Would you like to-"

"No," Adam cut Leo off again as he faced you, Bree, and Chase, "Guys, check out this rock I found on the shore. I had to dig it out from under a wooden box with old yellow coins and jewelry," Adam said, holding up the rock.

You looked closer and realized it wasn't a rock, "Wait a minute."

"Adam, this isn't a rock. It's a fossil. Let me see that," Chase said trying to take it.

"No!"

They played tug-of-war for a few moments, as Chase successfully pulled it away from Adam and set it on the cyber desk. You all gathered around as Chase scanned the fossil.

Chase then looked up at you all excitedly as he spoke, "This is a prehistoric sea spider. It went extinct millions of years ago!"

"Way to go, Chase. You made my rock boring," Adam stated walking away.

"Cool. Back in high school, they used to call me spider legs," Leo smiled as you all looked at him, "And now, I'm realizing that's a bad thing."

"Calm down, Spiderman," you stated.

"It looks like it's from the cretaceous period," Douglas informed, looking closer at the fossil.

"You're right Douglas. It's from the Valanginian subdivision. I would've loved to have seen this spider when it was alive," Chase stated.

"Maybe you can. Before I got into bionics, I dabbled into biology. I was trying to use fossils to bring extinct species back to life," Douglas explained smiling.

"And that explains why there's still no Mrs. Douglas Davenport," Bree commented, causing you to chuckle.

"This specimen is almost perfectly preserved," Chase pointed out.

"I was never able to crack it on my own, but maybe with your help, I can," Douglas pointed out.

"I'm pretty sure you're not looking at me, but I am in," Leo smiled.

"Let's do this, Douglas," Chase nodded smiling, as Adam came riding on a bike, ringing a bell.

"Hey Leo, it was rude of me to just say no when you asked me if I wanted to do something earlier," Adam stated.

"Well it's nice to see you've come to your senses," Leo said, walking towards the bike to get on.

"What I should've said was no, thank you," Adam said, honking a horn as he rode off.

"Well, I must get going. See you losers later," Bree said, walking out of the Hydra-loop area.

"Well, I must be leaving now. See you all later," you said, walking away.

"Where do you think you're going?" Chase asked.

"I'm going to spend some me time," you explained.

"You can help us," Chase stated, as you looked at him puzzled, "Why?"

"Well, in my class you're one of the smartest, and you're great in biology. Why not help us?" Chase said, taking a step forward.

You slightly tilted your head to the side, "But I want to read my book," you said, walking over to the cyber desk and grabbing your book.

Chase then walked forward, taking your book as he scanned the pages, "Oh, that's so sad. The dog dies."

You glared at him as you snatched the book from his hands, "I wanted to read it, and now you spoiled it!"

"Well, now you know. Now come help us," Chase smiled, as you shot him another glare.

~~~~~
You were helping Chase mix the chemicals as Douglas worked on the fossil. Then Leo barged in, "Oh, you guys started without me. I must've messed the memo. Where we at, compadres?"
"Not a dude," you mumbled under your breath, as you mixed the chemicals.
"First, we have to extract a sampling of it's DNA," Douglas informed, as Chase got up, "Oh, great, then we can map out it's genetic structure, and recreate it exactly."
"Or make it better. There's a reason this spider went extinct. This time, we can give it a better shot at survival. After all these years of killing things, I can finally help something live," Douglas smiled.
"Uh, what do you have in mind?" you asked, standing up ad walking over to the three boys.
"Elongating it's chelicera?" Chase asked.
"Elongating the who to the what now?" Leo asked.
"Maybe we can increase the strength of it's carapace," Douglas informed.
"Oh, good idea," Leo agreed.
"To do that, we'd have to alter the dimensions of it's trochanter," Chase explained.
"Mm, bad idea," Leo shook his head.
"Right, to properly distribute the weight-" Douglas started as Leo nodded, "Yes, the weight."
"Of it's altered exoskeleton," Chase stated.
"Yes the exoskeleton," Leo agreed.
"Leo, you're just repeating everything they say," you stated.
"No, I'm testing you to see if you three are listening, and you are. Now can we get back to our tree panthers and our carrot pizzas?" Leo asked.
You rose your bow in confusion as Chase spoke, "Leo, look. You're a great tech guy, but this is more of a biology thing."
Douglas nodded in agreement as Leo spoke, "Are you icing me out?"
"Finally, something you do understand," Chase said, making you chuckle.
Douglas and Chase cut Leo off, as you gave Leo a small smile.
~~~~~

After awhile, you three were able to bring the dead spider back to life. So, Douglas put it in a glass box as you covered it, shielding it away. Leo then went to get Adam and Bree, and once they made it to the Hydra-loop area, Douglas began to speak.

"Behold, one of the greatest achievements in the history of science," Douglas smiled, as he revealed the spider.

Adam screamed loudly seeing the spider, "Spider! I'll get it!" Adam took off his shoe, as Chase blocked his way.

"Stop! Douglas, [Name], and I were to extract the DNA from the fossil, and reanimate the sea spider," Chase explained.

"You helped them?" Bree asked you.

"Well, I was basically forced to," you answered, as Bree nodded.

"So you brought a million-year-old creature back to life in one day?" Bree asked.

"What'd you do on your day off?" Chase asked smugly.

"When you take a lot of shortcuts, and conduct dangerous experiments without any safety precautions, you can do anything in one day," Douglas smiled.

"Can you believe it?" Chase asked.

"That you'd spend your whole day off with a weird uncle, playing with a dead spider? Yeah, I believe it," Bree agreed.

"This is just the beginning. Think of all the other extinct animals we can bring back to life. Dinosaurs, ooh, Dodo birds," Douglas explained.

"Camels," Adam added, as you and Douglas looked at him.

"Adam, camels aren't extinct," Chase stated.

"Oh, yeah? Then how come I've never seen one?" Adam said with his eyes wide.

You sighed, putting your head down, hiding your smile as Leo spoke, "That thing is nasty. Can I touch it?" Leo asked, looking closely at the spider.

"If you want to die, sure go ahead," you replied.

"No," Douglas stated.

"Oh, but you guys can touch it?" Leo asked.

"Look, we can't risk anything happening to it. This spider's very existence could change everything," Chase explained.

"And make me famous around the world," Douglas added smiling, as he looked away.

"And what about me?" Chase asked.

"Yeah, I was dragged into this. I deserve some credit," you stated, crossing your arms.

"I'm sure you both will end up on somebody's blog," Douglas waved you both off, as he set the cap on, "There. That should keep our little friend safe."

"Well I'm gonna go somewhere quiet and enjoy my day off," Bree said, walking away.

"And I'm gonna go somewhere quiet and make noise," Adam said, following Bree.

"Stop following me!" Bree yelled.

"Stop walking in front of me!" Adam mocked, as both sibling's disappeared down the hall.

Then you, Douglas, and Chase walked into the Hydra-loop, as Leo spoke, "Where are you guys going?"

"To the mainland. We still have to pick up a few things for it's terrarium," Douglas explained, as you three waved.

"Mind if I-"

Leo got cut off as the doors closed. Poor Leo.

~~~~~
When you three got back to the academy, you noticed that the spider was gone.
"Uh, guys? Where did the spider go?" you asked.
"Leo!" Douglas growled, as he stalked to the mentor's room, with you and Chase following behind.
"You messed with our spider!" Douglas exclaimed, walking in and pointing at Leo.
"You can't bring an extinct spider back to life and expect me not to play with it," Leo explained as you sighed, "Besides, what's the big deal?"
"The big deal is, you didn't put the cover on right, and it escaped," Chase explained.
"Oh...well, that is a big deal," Leo stated.
Adam the screamed, causing you all to snap your attention to him as you all ran over.
"You okay?" Chase asked.
"I don't know. Something bit me in the back when I was in the pool," Adam winced.
"That's called karma~" Bree sang.
"No, I bet it was the spider," Douglas stated.
"Well if it was, it's gone," Chase replied.
"Ah, it really hurts. How's it look?" Adam turned around, causing you all to shriek, as you all saw a huge boil on his back.
"I better scan the wound," Chase stated, as he scanned it, "Guys, his spider bite shows lethal levels of poison."
You sighed as you ran your hand over your face as Adam spoke, "What, is it that bad?"
"Uh-no, just stay calm and think of your happy place. Better yet," Bree grabbed a horn from the ground, pressing down on it, as you all covered your ears, while Adam sat there in content.
"Okay, okay. How about we lay Adam inside and let him rest," you stated, as everyone nodded.
Adam then stood up, but stumbled. You and Leo swooped in and help him walk towards the couch. Douglas, Bree, and Chase followed behind as You and Leo laid Adam down.
"You'll be okay," you ran your hand through his wet hair as he gave a weak smile.
As time passed, Adam grew weaker and weaker.
"His vitals are dropping by the minute," Chase informed.
"He's burning up," you added, as you felt his forehead.
"I cannot believe this is all because of a spider bite," Bree said in disbelief.
"If we don't do something soon, he's gonna..." Douglas trailed off as he gestured cutting his neck, meaning that he wasn't going to make it.
'Great! We'll have one down, and the rest to take care of!'
'This is not great! Whatever you do, save Adam.'
"Chase. Chase. Where's Chase?" Adam asked weakly.
"I'm here, Adam," Chase spoke softly, bending down to his level.
"Take my hand," Adam held onto Chase's hand, "There's something I have to tell you. If I die..."
"I'm not gonna let that happen," Chase spoke.
"No, listen to me. If I die. I want you to know...even when I'm dead..."
"Adam..." Chase spoke softly.
"Even if I'm just a pile of bones..." Adam stated, as Chase shook his head, "I'll still be taller then you," Adam whispered.
Chase yelled as he stood up, while Adam laughed weakly, "You should've seen the look on your faces."
Chase just shook his head as you spoke, "Even if he's on the verge of death, he still manages to keep joking," you shook your head.
"Wait, why do you have so many tiny faces?" Adam asked.
Leo then walked forward as he looked at Adam, "Oh, no. The venom must be making him hallucinate."
"I love what you've done to your hair, Bree," Adam looked at Leo.
'Let him die, it'll be easier to get the job done.'
'Don't let him die. Do the right thing, and save him.'
You were snapped out of your thoughts as Chase spoke, "I never would've brought that spider back, had I know that it was poisonous."
"Why didn't you know it was poisonous?" Douglas asked, walking towards Chase.
"Why didn't you know it was poisonous? You're the fossil expert," Chase pointed out.
"You're suppose to be the smartest man in the world!" Douglas exclaimed.
"You to stop it right now. It's both your faults for not noticing," you stated, stepping in between the two.
"Our faults? You're the one who helped us, it's you're fault," Douglas pointed an accusingly finger at you.
"My fault?! I'll have you know that I'm not a fossil expert, nor the smartest man in the world, so you can shut your-"
"Hey, Stop! Blaming each other is not going to help Adam. Besides, I'm the one who pushed him into the pool," Bree confessed.
"Oh, so it's your fault. She admitted it," Douglas pointed out.
"Well he let the spider out," Bree pointed at Leo.
"Hey, I'm not even here right now. I'm in Gettysburg," Leo pointed out the door.
"Same here," you added.
"Look," Chase started, "We have to find that spider. If we can make an antidote by extracting the venom from it's sac, it should reverse the effects," Chase explained, as Adam groaned.
"Don't worry Adam. We're gonna find that spider and save you, I promise," Leo promised.
"Okey-dokey Mr. Corndog. Oh don't be afraid. I just want to bite your head off," Adam leaned forward, trying to bite Leo.
"Okay, we should really be looking for that spider," you stated.
"Oaky, c'mon," Chase lead the way, as you all followed him out the door.
~~~~~

Chase decided it was a good idea to split so it'll be easier to find the spider easier. Leo and Douglas went one direction, as you, Bree, and Chase went the other.

Chase had a rolled up newspaper, Bree had a plunger, and you had a broom. As you three walked into the Hydra-loop area, you were on high alert, checking your surroundings for the poisonous creature.

"Now, the spider is really dangerous, so we have to be very careful that we don't get bitten," Chase whispered.

You and Bree nodded, as you followed behind Bree, and Chase followed you, only to get in your personal space, making you stumble into Bree.

"What are you doing?!" Bree asked, turning around.

"Don't look at me, it's Chase," you pointed your thumb at Chase.

Chase stood there for a moment as he spoke, "Protecting you both?" he answered unsurely.

You and Bree looked at him as he sighed, "Oh, c'mon! I'm the bigger loss, and we all know it," Chase pointed the rolled newspaper in yours and Bree's faces, as he walked forward.

"You are bionic and you're afraid of a spider? Seriously we go on death-saving missions!" you growled, walking behind him.

"Of course not. I made it. I'm not afraid of it," Chase said, his eyes scanning the area.

His arm was exposed, and without even thinking, you ran your fingers over his arm.

"Get it off me! Get it off me!" Chase exclaimed, running like a lunatic.

You and Bree laughed as she gave you a high five, "Who knew you could be so evil," Bree laughed.

"It's just one of my specialties," you smirked, "C'mon lets look for that spider."

Bree nodded as you both walked down the hall.

"Have any idea where the spider might be?" Bree asked, as she looked around.

"No, it could be anywhere by now," you answered.

Then you heard a loud thud coming from down the hall, causing Bree to jump slightly.

"What was that?" she whispered.

"I don't know, just stay behind me," you replied as Bree nodded.

As you both walked further down the hall, you realized that it came from the living quarters. As you stood at the front, you raised your broom as Bree raised her plunger.

"Get ready, we don't know what's in there. On the count on three we go in," you breathed as Bree nodded, "One...two...THREE!"

You and Bree barged in with your 'weponds' raised, only to see Adam groaning on the floor.

"It's just Adam," you sighed, lowering your broom.

Bree rolled her eyes as you spoke, "Just keep looking, I'll get Adam back on the couch."

"You sure?" Bree asked, as you nodded.

Bree then left the room as you set your broom down, walking over to Adam, "Alright, big guy. Let's get you on the couch."

Adam groaned as you pulled him on the couch, sitting him down. He was heavy! But he was a big guy so it was understadable.

Adam looked at you with a weak gaze as he mumbled under his breath.

"What?" you asked, as you sat on the table across from him.

"I said you look beautiful," he mumbled.

You just started at him, not used to reciving compliments, or being called beautiful for that matter.

"You must be really hallucinating," you chuckled, "Just get some rest, and you'll be fine. I'm gonna look for the spider okay?"

Adam nodded weakly as he closed his eyes. You took a deep breath as you got up, grabbing your broom, as you walked out of the living quarters.

~~~~~
As you walked around, you bumped into Chase. Now Chase stuck to your side like glue as you both looked for the spider.
You both walked back into the Hydra-loop and saw Leo.
"Did you find it?" you and Chase asked in unison.
"No did you?" Leo asked.
"Why would we ask if you found it if we found it?" Chase questioned.
"I was being polite," Leo defended.
"At a time like this?" Chase asked.
"There is never a bad time for good manners," Leo pointed out, as Douglas ran in with a mop in hand.
"Did you find it?" Chase asked Douglas.
"No, did you?" Douglas asked.
"See?" Leo replied, "No, we did not, but thank you for asking."
"Okay, the spider could not just disappear," Bree stated, as the whole building shook.
"Wait, what was that?" Bree asked.
"I think it was coming from outside," Douglas informed.
You all ran towards the window.
"Is that..." Leo started as you stared out the window.
"I think we just found the spider," Chase replied, as you all watched the spider craw over the academy.
The spider then looked through the window, and made a roaring sound, causing you all to scream as you all ran to the training area.
"That spider was not like that this morning. What happened?" Leo asked.
"I don't know," Chase replied.
"Why is it so big?" Bree asked.
"I don't know," Chase replied once again.
"Why don't you know?!" Leo asked.
"I DON'T KNOW!!!" Chase yelled.
"Do you know?" Bree asked you.
"No, I don't," you shook your head.
You then saw Douglas trying to tip-toe away, "Douglas," you warned, as if you were speaking to a bad dog.
Douglas stopped and turned to face you all, "Okay fine. You remember how...you wanted to make the spider more resilient, so that it wouldn't go extinct again?"
"I remember you wanted to do that," Chase said, as Douglas cleaned a pair of goggles.
"And, uh, we talked about giving it growth hormones," Douglas added.
"And I said do not do that!" Chase yelled agitated.
"Which could be interpreted many different ways," Douglas stated as Chase groaned.
You glared at Douglas as you spoke, "So you're telling me, you gave a spider growth hormones! When we," you motioned to Chase and yourself, "Told you it was a bad idea?! Why in Thor's name would you do that?!"
"I didn't know it would get this big!" Douglas defended himself.
"You are the biggest idiot I have ever known," you mumbled.
"Oh, yeah! Who knew that growth hormones would make something grow?!" Chase yelled agitated.
"You're just mad because I didn't save any for you!" Douglas pointed out, as Leo and Bree 'oohed.'
"Below the belt, Douglas. Below the belt," Chase stated.
"What did you expect, Douglas?! That the spider would only grow a foot tall?! Are you seriously that air headed in that small head of yours!" you growled.
"Hey, just because I insulted Chase. Does not give you the right to insult me!" Douglas stated.
"Oh, yes it does-"
You got cut off by Bree, "Guys! There is no need to kill each other. Although that was a good one uncle Dougie," Bree smiled, as the academy shook again.
"If we don't stop that thing, it's gonna destroy the whole academy," Chase explained.
"No, wait. We can't kill it yet. The venom's no good to Adam if we extract it when the spider's dead," Douglas informed.
"Great. Now we just need to find someone who knows how to milk a fifty-foot spider," Leo growled.
"No, no, we don't have to milk it," Douglas said, as he held a giant extractor, "This should be sharp enough to puncture the venom sac," Douglas explained, putting the extractor together.
"Check the security feed to see if it's still there," Chase stated, as you, Bree and Leo checked the footage.
"It's in the living quarters," Bree informed.
"Great let's go," Chase nodded.
"So you want to side up next to a giant, angry, deadly spider and poke it with a needle?" Leo asked.
"Yep and if we can do it before my brother returns, that would be great," Douglas stated, as you all ran out.
~~~~~

When you all entered the living quarters, you saw that Adam was still sitting on the couch. The academy shook again as Bree spoke, "Why is it trying to attack us?"

"It's not. It's trying to eat us," Douglas informed walking forward.

"Oh, yeah. Like that makes a big difference," you said sarcastically.

"Why is it trying to eat us?" Bree asked, as you all walked towards the pool.

"Because we forgot to bring back it's food source," Douglas motion everyone to keep moving forward.

"We? Oh, no there is no we. This is all you! You are a terrible scientist!" Leo exclaimed.

"Hey, I'm not the one who let the spider out," Douglas pointed out.

"YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MADE IT INTO A FIFTY-FOOT-TALL MAN EATER!!!" Leo exclaimed, causing you and Bree to flinch.

"Leo, calm down," you said, putting your hand on his shoulder.

"Chase. Chase. Where's Chase?" Adam asked.

"Oh, knock it off!" Chase yelled.

Leo then grabbed the extractor from Douglas, as you all walked forward, trying to find the spider.

"Okay. Alright. Ha!" Leo spoke, as he stood in different positions.

"Leo, what are you doing?" Douglas asked.

"Saving the day. You know, doing my Leo thing," Leo explained.

"Not like that, you aren't. Your angle's all off," Douglas pointed out, as the spider knocked Douglas off to the side.

Leo laughed, "Now that's karma."

"Stop. Douglas was right. Your angle is completely off," Chase confirmed, trying to take the extractor.

"I am not giving the harpoon to somebody who started all this," Leo said.

"Again, you started all of this," Chase exclaimed.

"And I'm about to end it," Bree said, snatching the extractor as she walked towards the spider.

"You know, suddenly, I feel sorry for the spider," Chase stated, as you three followed Bree, but staying a good distance behind.

Bree then pointed upwards and aimed at the sac. Bree then shot the sac, causing yellow goo to splatter all over her, "Got it."

Douglas smiled wildly as he walked over to Bree, "Perfect. This should be more then enough venom."

"Ya think?" Bree asked.

"You know, I was going to shoot it myself, but I'm glad I didn't," you commented, as Douglas wiped some of the goo off Bree in a glass container.

"Well, let's go make that antidote," Chase stated as you all walked back inside.

Instead of following the boys, you quickly grabbed a towel as you ran back out, handing it over to Bree.

"Thank you," Bree breathed.

"Yeah, anytime," you nodded, "Just hop in the shower, and be careful where you walk and touch."

She nodded as she headed to the showers.

~~~~~
After giving the antidote to Adam, you all headed to the cafeteria waiting for it to take affect. So, you all sat around the table playing cards as Leo spoke, "You see, this is what I'm talking about. A little family bonding."
"Funny how it takes a giant killer spider going after our loved ones to remind you what's really important," Bree nodded, as you gave smile, still remembering the mission you were on.
"Sitting around with the people you see everyday," Bree finished.
"Too bad we had to destroy spidey. I'm gonna miss him," Leo smiled.
"On the right side, we're the only people to make a species extinct twice," Douglas pointed out, as you all nodded.
Adam then walked in, looking a lot better then before.
"Adam, you look great," Bree smiled.
"Thanks. You look like you always do," Adam replied.
"Wow, that antidote worked quickly," Chase stated as Leo spoke, "Then why does he still have a giant boil on his back?"
Chase, Leo, and Douglas got up as you stayed seated next to Bree.
"It's just excess fluid. Should be gone in a few days," Douglas explained.
"Or I can just pop it right now," Adam spoke, lifting his shirt.
With fast reflexes, you took a plate from the table over and shielded your face, as Adam popped his back, ooze shooting out, covering the boys from head to toe.
"I feel better already," Adam stated.
"So do I," Bree agreed smugly.
"And it went in my mouth," Leo said, causing you to scrunch your nose in disgust.
~~~~~

After the boys got cleaned up, you all were in the Hydra-loop area, as you spoke to Douglas and Bree, Adam ran in with an egg.

"Hey, guys, check out this funny looking egg, that washed up on shore," Adam stated as your eyes lit up.

"That's a dinosaur egg!" you exclaimed, as you took the egg from Adam as Chase held it also, "I bet it's from the Jurassic period! I wonder what it is, what if it's a raptor!" you smiled wildly.

"Oh boy," Bree mumbled.

"You know, this time, if we don't give it growth hormones, we could-"

"Or..." Leo cut Douglas off as he crushed the egg, "...you can get a new hobby," Leo stated as he walked away, "If you need me, I'll be in Gettysburg!" Leo yelled as he went into the Hydra-loop.

Once the Hydra-loop took off, you bent down and started to pick up the egg pieces.

"What are you doing?" Chase asked, as you stood back up.

"I'm gonna do some research on the egg, see what type of dinosaur it was," you explained.

"That's actually a good idea," Douglas nodded.

"Great, wanna help me?" you asked as Douglas nodded.

You and Douglas then took off as Chase stood there, "Wait, what about me?"

"Chase, you're not that special," Adam confirmed, as Chase shook his head and ran after you both.
