V
I instantly jolted up from my sleep covered in sweat and screamed. I put a hand to my heart to steady my breaths. I gasped for a few minutes before I called myself down and sighed in relief and got ready to go, to meet the Demon who haunted me, even in my nightmares. I hoped the dream didn't came to be true.
I pulled on a light shirt that came down to my thighs. It was a flimsy white material but around the breasts it wasn't flimsy and was a solid white material. I pulled on my brown leather pants which hugged my every curve and my white knee high boots which were meant for battle and had no heel. I was dressed in the proper attire for flight and speed.
I hurried down the corridor so that I could get out of the castle without running in to anyone. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
Sara intercepted me near the exit. I tried to hurry past her as she seemed to be concentrating on something and I doubted she had noticed me. But she looked up and she called me in surprise, "Mia!"
I held back a grimace. As I raised my hand in an awkward kind of wave and murmured "Uh... hi, Sara."
She smiled and glanced down the hall towards the exit. "Are you going to meet-him-now?"
I nodded and began fiddling with a strand of hair which had fallen over my shoulder. She saw me fiddling and smiled. "Your hair is so beautiful. I'm jealous." She complimented to which I blushed.
She continued. "No, seriously – it's long, wavy and has a pretty colour." I laughed but it sounded slightly off.
"Your hair is great too. Better than mine." I said whilst glancing at her curly blonde hair. She shrugged.
"It's too common." She said simply. I had to agree with her. Many female angels had curly blonde hair. Black or brown hair – like mine – was rare.
Her expression became amused. "It's always across your shoulders. I guess it's hard to manage."
I shook my head. "No, it's not hard. I just fly and it gets all wind blown. I should put it up more often when I fly."
She laughed and I laughed as well as I started to edge down the hall way to the exit. She rolled her eyes when I pulled my hair up. I smiled and waved her a goodbye.
"I need to go, it can take a while to get to the portal and the weather isn't too good." I said.
She nodded seriously. "Yeah, I heard there was supposed to be a storm tonight."
That stopped me short. "Really?" I asked, frustrated. She shrugged and looked at me apologetically. I sighed, annoyed. A storm was the last thing I needed now. Hopefully it wouldn't be stormy in the human realm but the weather was usually similar in the realms.
I left with a goodbye and hurried to the exit. Although I wouldn't admit it, even to myself, I wasn't in a hurry because I was going to be late. I was in a hurry because I wanted to see him. I took off into the air as soon as I was outside the castle. My wings had to work harder as I flew against the strong winds which were building up. It was also colder higher in the sky. I wrapped my arms around my chest in a futile attempt to warm myself up.
Last time, I had been the one who was there first waiting for him. This time, he was already there, waiting for me.
I slowly landed in front of him and refused to meet his gaze. I stared at my feet as I could feel his eyes on me. He took a step closer and put his hands on my shoulders.
"You won't even look at me anymore?" he accused. I shut my eyes as I tried to firmly keep the thought of staying calm in my head. So I looked up at him and steadily looked him in the eye.
"No, Vlad. I do not like to look at you, at what you have become. But I will still look at you." I said calmly. He frowned and then glared at me.
"You will still look at me? I feel so honored." He said in an infuriating mocking tone. I tried to pull away from him and he let me. He took a few steps back and crossed his arms against his chest. The wind howled and blew furiously around us. Sara had been right; a storm was coming. A deadly storm.
I turned towards Vlad. It was time to get down to business. "I have to talk to you about this offer of peace." I started.
He scowled and nodded his head. "Yes, I know." He said as if I was of much lower rank than him. I glared up at him.
"What happens if we accept your offer of peace?" I asked. He stared off into the horizon and ignored me. What was wrong with him?
I asked him again and he turned back to me. "What do you think will happen? It's peace, so there will be no battle." he said in a sarcastic way, and I glared at him.
"I know you're lying." I said flatly. I knew them very well.
He ignored me and I could see the strain he was putting on his arms. He seemed to be having a hard time keeping them on his chest.
"Why do you offer peace if it is a lie? What is your real plan?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes. "As if I'm going to tell you. I'm not going to tell you the plan of the demons." He said rudely.
I stayed silent and frowned in confusion. He had been lying when he had just said that. What could he have been lying about? I thought back carefully over his words and then froze.
I gasped as the realisation hit me hard and stared up at him and glanced back at the portal. I now feared that this was a trap.
"You were lying." I said, horrified. I started to go back slowly. "You have been lying all the time."
He frowned and quickly grabbed my wrist. I screamed and tried to pull away but he pulled me hard and held me against his chest. Stupid tingly feelings ran through my body at his touch and I hated them. "How am I lying?" he demanded.
I looked him in the eye as I struggled to break through. "You said it was the demon's plan but that was all a lie. This is only the plan of one demon – you. There never was an offer of peace. You just wanted..." I trailed off, afraid I was right. I was afraid that this had all been a ploy to get me.
"You always were smart Mia. Too bad you didn't think of this sooner." He growled, a smirk forming on his face.
I instantly spat at him, not knowing what to do and due to his shock, I was able to pull free and I started flying towards the portal. The fear of my dream coming true was eating my brain. I heard him behind me and I tried to fly faster but I had never been as fast as him. He came up above me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I could no longer use my wings since they were rendered useless because his chest was pushing down on them. I screamed. "Let me go!" He tightened his grip and we began to fall in a spiral back towards the earth.
"You are coming with me, Mia." he growled as he pulled up, taking me in his arms, at the last second. I screamed, certain we were going to hit the ground.
I kicked my leg back at him in an attempt to free myself from his grip and he grunted as he loosened his hold on me. I slipped free and fell back to the earth. I couldn't get my wings to move in time and I crashed onto the land quite painfully. I groaned as I tried to move but my body screamed in protest. I heard it when he landed near me. I felt the vibrations in the ground which his footsteps caused. He stopped next to me and my eyes fluttered as I tried to look at him. I groaned as I tried to move again. Away from him.
He slowly bent down and lightly touched a hand to my forehead. I tried to move my head away but I couldn't. I could feel my blood slowly beginning to pool around my back. I tried to make my lips move but I could only gasp and scream involuntarily.
My screaming stopped as he slowly lifted my head and I saw his lips started to move. I couldn't hear what he was saying but I knew that he was trying to cast a spell on me with which would cause me to pass out. I couldn't let that happen. I tried to sit up straight but it resulted in me, falling back to the ground. He slowly reached out towards me and gingerly picked me up. He cradled me against his chest and he slowly stood up whilst being careful not to jostle me. My head hung back limp. My whole body was limp but I was still somehow conscious, trying hard to fight his spell. But we both knew that I would pass out any moment.
My back had felt like it was being ripped open before, but now it only ached. His touch had taken away all of the pain. I could only make my eyes move and they stayed locked on his face. He had an almost pained expression on his face. Good, he should be feeling guilty that I had fallen down to the earth. He had almost gotten me killed.
He flew up, but not towards the portal. He flew off towards the horizon. He glanced down at me. His arms around me became gentle. A tear fell out of my eye but he saw it. He opened his mouth to speak but then closed it. I wished I could move, and escape from him.
"Mia, I'm taking you to a small hut. Your injuries are extensive and I will heal you there." He seemed to feel how skeptic I was.
He laughed darkly. "Oh yes, even demons know how to heal."
I finally made my lips move and I whispered, "But you can't heal a broken heart." Before I slipped into unconsciousness.
The only thing I could register before the darkness took over was the expression on his face. There was still the cruel edge in the way his lips shaped them selves and his face still held a mocking and angry expression but there was one lone and solitary tear in his eye, threatening to break free.

I opened my eyes and my first reaction was to jump up from the bed I was on, but I realised that I couldn't move my legs and hands. I looked to my sides to see them tied with a thick rope to the bed. I grunted as I struggled against them but I gave up and surveyed my surroundings. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the dark figure looming in the shadows, watching me.
He stepped forward and walked up to me. "We are in the human realm and we are completely alone out here. There is no one to hear your screaming." he said, in his deep voice.
I glared up at him. "What, do you plan to make me scream? Do you want to torture me?" I spat, thinking back to my dream.
He ignored me as I glanced at the knots which were around my wrists. They looked tight and well done. I looked up at him in fear.
His expression became annoyed and mocking as he saw the fear in my eyes. He grabbed a fistful of my hair and roughly brought my head up to his. He looked me in the eye before he dropped my head. I winced and groaned as pain lanced through my back.
He made a noise in the back of his throat before he took a step back from me and looked at me in silence. "Your back is healed. You lost a lot of blood so you'll be weak for a few days." he explained.
He saw my eyes widen. "You'll be fine." He said flatly as he started to walk out the door.
"Hey, what about these ropes? Are you really going to leave me, tied to the bed?" I screamed back at him. I shocked when he didn't seemed to stop. He kept walking towards the exit of the room.
"Hey, Vlad! Don't leave me!" I said, hardly believing what was coming out of my mouth. He stopped at the sound of my hoarse voice and turned around.
"Why, so you can preach to me and tell me what a hideous sinner I am?" I winced at the venom in his voice.
"You know that isn't what angels do." I said in a whisper.
He growled. "Stop assuming that I know what angels do!" he screamed at me. I flinched at his voice but he just continued. "I am a demon! Stop waiting for the old me to come back because that is not going to happen. I was meant to be a demon the day I was born! I have never been an angel!" He yelled.
He turned to leave but froze when he heard the sobs coming out of my chest. "You were meant to be an angel." I whispered. "You were my angel."
He glowered at me. "I'm not your angel anymore." He said flatly. I could not see any expression on his face. Did he even loved me?
I shook my head. "No, you're still my dark angel." I said so low that I hadn't though he could hear me.
I knew that he had when his face became blank. He stared at me and I could see some emotion lurking behind his eyes. He came up to the bed I was on and he undid one of the knots around my wrists.
My fist lashed out to strike him but he caught it and hand pinned it to the bed again. My arm struggled against his as he leaned down to me and roughly pushed his lips against mine. My will crumbled and I kissed him back.
He released my wrist and it slowly went towards his head, ready to hit him. But it didn't hit him and instead it came around behind his neck and held him closer to me.
I knew that this wasn't the Vlad that I loved but at that moment, I didn't care. I was letting out my need for him that I hadn't been able to release for the past month. As he roughly kissed me, every line of his body was against mine. Somehow he managed to untie my other wrist and that hand joined the other one and wrapped around his back.
Tears poured down my face as I panted whilst he untied my ankles. I pulled him back up to me and he came willingly.
As he kissed me, it was easy to pretend. It was easy to pretend that none of this had ever happened and that he was still an angel. So that is what I did; I pretended, to make the kiss better.
He instantly pulled back and jumped away from me. He looked at me with shock and I stared at him with wide eyes. Without a word, he left me and closed the door behind him. I flew to the door and tried to open it but bit I found it locked already. I banged on it but there was no reply from him.
I cried as I crumpled down onto the floor by the door. I was a traitor. I had kissed a demon and I had liked it. But yet, I hadn't liked it because it had been wrong.
I cried and I knew that he could hear my loud sobs but he did nothing. I could hear him on the other side of the door and I heard it when he came towards the door. But he did not open it and I heard him sigh as he walked away again, leaving me alone in that dark room.
