Fatal Frame

<written in 7th grade so it might not be the best written>

Angelina hopscotched her way across the algae-covered path. Sing songy birds swirled around her, sorring higher than she could ever imagine. A branch cracked under little Angelina's foot, the sound echoing all around her. She continued down into the clearing to a path that led to a stream. It was known that the people that lived in the abandoned village deep in the woods cried their worries away, forming this stream of sorrows. The opalescent blues lay low as the mist covered the wood, making it hard to see. She stumbled down the slippery banks guessing where her footing should go. The woods floor was littered with fallen trees and branches, the crickets and bugs chirped and buzzed vividly. A sudden flapping startled little Angelina. A red butterfly flew out of a hole in one of the trees, Angelina started to follow it journing deeper into the misty fog. "Wait!" She cried but it was too late. The butterly circred her, Angelina began to turn as well, turning faster and faster and faster- until, she got so dizzy and tripped over one of the branches and fell. The ground was nearing faster than a blur, then the world got dark as a shooting pain stabbed through her head.

She groaned and lifted her head slowly reaching for her head, and seeing the blood that pooled on the ground below her, blood dripping onto her fingertips from the gash on her head. She lifted her dainty body up feeling a shift in the wind. The red butterfly circled around her head once more and flew into the thickest part of the fog. Still determined to follow the butterfly, and knowing what a fool she was, she continued following the butterfly as if it were a beacon. The fog thinned as she walked deeper in. She squinted her eyes as the bright sun streaked through the openings of the trees putting dots in her eyes. The butterfly had disappeared from her vision, but something else entered her vision. A tall ancient mansion towered over her.

Something on the dark wooded chestnut door had caught her attention and as she neared closer she realized what it was. A letter with a knife sliced through it to hold it up, was in the middle of the door. Stunned, she took the note off the door and opened the rough paper, an old musty smell wafted up to her nose causing her to cough. After the dust had settled she read the passage that was written.

Those who come
Should keep this camera for safety
If a ghost were to come, keep your stamina calm, and bravely say 'cheese'

Angelina grabbed the camera that was set aside next to the door, she took a picture of the door with the knife still in the door and turned the door's handle. It squealed open, revealing her long lost sister. All time seemed to stop as she said the name she hasn't said in years. "Daphne?"
Daphne stared straight at Angelina nothing, no words no sounds no movements, no life, the only thing showing that she was alive was the quiet light rising and falling of her breathing chest. Daphne blinked and jerstured for Angelina to come into the house. Angelina followed. They passed through the long corridor, down twisting halls, and out to the back of the mansion. There was a vast green maze, with corn dotting every few inches. Daphne continued walking, and Angelina with her small minded brian continued to follow her, strait into the maze, the maze with no way out.
"Daphne, do you know where you're going or what you're doing?" Angelina questioned starting to get worried on how she'd get home. Daphne didn't answer, she just kept walking, after a while she walked straight into a dead end. Daphne didn't know where she was going, they'd been walking around for hours, lost. The corn started to shake and tremble, a hand reached out, then another and another, the corn started disappearing and the hands reached out in its place. Grabbing and clawing their way towards the sisters. "Daphne we have to get out of here now!" Angelina screamed. Daphne looked at Angelina and for the first time that day she spoke.
"If you don't escape by nightfall you're stuck here. Stuck, stuch, stuck." She moaned as a hand grabbed her leg. "GOOOOOOOOOOO!" Daphne shouted and pointed east. Angelina ran, ran as fast and as far as her little 6 year old legs could take her. She ran faster than a cheetah, faster than light and wind itself. After running into 8 dead ends and turning around and backtracking over 100 times Angelina made it to the end. As she ran towards the exit an invisible shield blocked her exit. A tall lean man, no elf, walked out infront of her.
"Oh dear, oh my, another one so eager to leave? Why silly, you need to solve the riddle!" He said as he smiled keenly down at her.
"What do you mean!?" Angelina said, completely confused.
"Solve the riddle, solve the riddle!" He repeated.

Those who come
Should keep this camera for safety
If a ghost were to come, keep your stamina calm, and bravely say 'cheese'

She remembered it said, what could it mean? Hmm 'hold this camera up,' she lifted the camera, 'bravely say cheese...' Her finger slipped on the camera and hit the photo button and in a quick flash his picture was taken. The elf had disappeared. Angelina looked at the photo she had taken, no elf. She ran towards the exit again and stuck her hand through, no shield, then the rest of her body slipped out. She swirled around, where did the butterfly go? She thought, she turned around tripped on another branch and landed on her head.

Angelina lifted her head up, no mansion, just more fog. Was it a dream? The red butterfly came back into sight, Angelina followed.

<I had a whole day to create this story and this is what I came up with 😂>
