Chapter 34

She waited for what seemed the longest time, but that could only be expected after her abrupt invitation.

The sky was a darkened blue and stars began to litter the matte sky. It had been a while since she went to the park alone. It provided a comforting silence that Evanee needed in these moments. She wondered if she had already destroyed her chances with him.

The past held many significant changes and mistakes, but Evanee hoped that only the future would matter now. She wanted to finally make things last.

At this moment, Evanee believed that she finally grew up, that she was past the ridiculous nonsense of multiple love interests and broken hearts. This was going to be the first sentence of a new chapter and she was absolutely aching to know if she'd receive her happy ending.

Her heart would race everytime she heard a car speed by, hoping it would be him. Evanee was beginning to think she should have brought something for the two of them, maybe hot chocolate or cookies from the bakery down the street. It was too late to that now because Evanee was frozen in her spot on the bench, seeing a car park by the sidewalk near her.

His expression could only determine that he was confused to why she would call him so late and in an empty place like this.

This time Evanee's heart pounded with such a force that she had trouble hearing him say hi.

After all the time spent wanting for this, Evanee was ready to back out and play the entire event off like it was just a random visit. But it wasn't and Evanee was far too deep into her web of feelings that she had to say something right here and right now.

"Are you alright? You shouldn't be out here all alone," he said softly, taking a seat next to her on the bench. It was only then that Evanee noticed that he had two drinks in his hand and a small paper bag. "Hot chocolate and cookies, your favorite."

A smile lit up Evanee's face as she thanked him and placed the hot chocolate in her cold hands. She let out a sharp breath, seeing it transform into a cloud of white before disappearing.

"Are you cold?"

"I'm fine. I just wanted to say something and this might change everything and I know I'm being really dramatic but it's only because I'm nervous and-"

He placed his on her shoulder as she stared into his soft, brown eyes.

"No matter what happens, I will always love you."

"This thing with Jordan. I guess it was a way to seclude myself from you guys and Jordan knew that too. It gave me time to think about what I really wanted in life and I see that now. I want to start a new chapter in my life and the person I see myself spending most of my life with is you. I know our past has held a lot more drama than what's usual, but I love you. I don't expect you to be swept into my arms by this crappy declaration, but you mean a lot to me."

Soft lips pressed against Evanee's and she could only help but smile through his tender hold.

"There is no one else in this entire world that I would rather than spend my life with, Ducky. I know we've been through the worst, but that only means the best is yet to come and I can't wait to share that with you."

------------------------

Her heart was pounding again. The only thing that separated a lifetime of surprises was behind those brown double doors, but they frightened Evanee to a point where she was ready to run.

She felt a hand on her forearm and turned to look at Gemma in her beautiful soft, golden gown that she had bought with her.

"Evangeline Freya Pierce. Do you remember the day I almost forgot you?"

"Yes."

"Well, if you leave now, he will feel the same thing. Because he will be the one left with all those memories and nothing to hold onto."

Evanee stared at Gemma and was grateful for her never ending words of blunt wisdom. After months of psych treatment that Drew paid for himself, Gemma had slowly begun to regain her memories. It was only after she remembered Evanee that Drew decided it was time for them to visit. Miracles did happen.

One of them was to happen today.

"Are you ready, Evanee?" She nodded as her eyes began to tear up. "You will always and forever be my little girl."

Evanee gave her one final hug before the double doors opened. Gemma proudly led the young woman down the aisle as they were surrounded by warming smiled of friends and family, but the only face Evanee could focus on as she took in her surroundings was him.

He was dressed in a navy blue suit with a white dress shirt under. His hair was styled up and a smile lit up the handsome features on his face.

Her eyes then traveled to the maid of honor, dressed in the same shade of gold as Gemma. Jonathan stood where he was with the silliest grin on his face as he flattened out his dress a bit and sent her a wink. Next to him were Sydney, Kelly, and Berenice.

Then Evanee looked at the ever handsome groomsmen. Craig looked amazing as the best man and so did David and Tyler next to him.

She had never imagined for her happy ending to be so perfect.

Gemma led her up the small steps and she stood in front of the man she would forever cherish. The pastor was quick to say what was needed and allowed them a great deal of time to say their vows.

"Evanee Pierce, the first thing I want to say as we take our first step into forever is that I love you. We have experienced countless fights, laughs, and tears together and I have never been more certain of anything in my entire life than when I say I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Tears threatened to escape her eyes but he quickly wiped them away before they could.

"Evan Fong, you're the greatest thing to happen to me. If I hadn't met you the way I did, I never would have met the friends I have now. I wouldn't have the adventures I cherish. I would have the love I feel today. You are my happiness and after three full years together after I declared my idiotic love for you, I am nothing but happy to say I want to spend the rest of my life with you and that you'd be an amazing father."

The room was silent for a moment as everyone carefully thought of the last few words and two strong hands lifted Evanee up in absolute delight.

Evan was crying now as he set her down and hugged her tightly.

"I'm going to be a dad," he said unbelievably.

"Now," the pastor smiled at them. Evanee took one long look at Gemma and Drew, and Evan's mom, Laila, who were all crying tears of joy. "Do you take Evangeline Pierce to be lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"And do you take Evan Fong to be your lawfully wedded husband."

"I do.

The pastor smiled at the two again. "You may now kiss the bride."

Evanee was swept off her feet as Evan took her in his arms and kissed her, a smile never leaving his lips.

Evan had given her Angel Wings to fly and after all these years, she flew back to him.

------------------------

I'm close to crying. This is it. This is the end and I'm not ready to say goodbye to these people because I've spent so long writing about them. But here is the end of a long series and I want to say thank you to everyone who has ever voted, commented, or shared this story because it means the world to me.

"Rogue" will no longer be on hold since this story is at its end and don't forget to check out BBSquad One shots on my profile.

P.S. Their baby's name would definitely be Angel.

Thank you all again. I'm sorry if you weren't happy with the ending or if it was rushed but this is it and I'm just happy that my baby Evanee is happy.

Vote and comment

And as always I hope ye enjoyed(:)
