Nilay walked straight toward her and his steps were confident and purposeful. He stopped just in front of her and their gazes locked in an intense and silent exchange.
Nilay said in a soft voice, "Wife," but before his hand could reach her, Sunaina swiftly turned around and began walking into the house without a word.
He remained rooted to the spot, watching her retreating figure. The air was thick with tension, and everyone around them stood frozen and were unsure of what to do next.
Sunaina reached the door and paused for a moment, her back still turned to Nilay. She didn’t look back as she stepped inside while her mind was racing with a mix of emotions.
The silence outside was deafening, but it was nothing compared to the storm inside her. She needed space. She needed to think. She needed to heal herself.
Jaikesh looked at Sunaina and said, "Princess! Prince is here. Don't you welcome him in the home?".
Sunaina said nothing as she moved to her bedroom, leaving Jaikesh perplexed.
Meanwhile, Nilay stood motionless while his gaze fixed on the door where she had disappeared. His deep brown eyes were dark and full of pain but his expression was calm.
He made no move to follow.
The coldness in the air mirrored the growing distance between them.
Finally, he took a deep breath.
'This was far from over'
T-Rex, sensed the tension as he bowed again and said, "Sir, you can enter to the mansion".
But Nilay remained silent and his focus was unwavering.
The others glanced at each other and a few minutes later they all left the premises, leaving Nilay alone there.
The minutes stretched into hours as the sun sank lower in the sky, casting long night shadows across the mansion.
Inside the mansion, Sunaina remained in her room as she was lost in her thoughts but her heart was still racing from the unexpected encounter.
Outside, Nilay stood unmoving, as if waiting for something or someone to make a move.
The weather grew colder, and a thunderstorm began to rumble in the distance. Dark clouds filled the sky, and the wind howled around the mansion. Inside, the atmosphere felt tense, just like the storm outside.
"Princess! Sir Nilay is still outside on this chilly night. What's your command?" Nora asked Sunaina.
Sunaina clenched her fists, her anger rising. Without saying a word, she stormed outside, her footsteps loud and determined. She marched straight toward where Nilay had been standing since the afternoon.
"What are you doing here?", Sunaina asked in an icy tone.
Nilay turned his head slightly at the sound of her voice, his expression was unreadable.
"Waiting for you," he replied quietly, standing firm in the cold.
Sunaina laughed coldly as she shook her head, "Go away now".
Nilay didn't move as he watched her. "I won't leave until we talk," he said and his voice was low and determined.
Sunaina's voice was sharp and her eyes were cold as she stared at Nilay.
"What do you want to talk about? Didn't you end everything last night?", Her words hung in the air and it was heavy with anger.
Nilay took a step closer as his expression intense. "I may have said things, but I never meant them. We need to discuss this, Naina. For us, for everything."
Sunaina's eyes blazed with fury as she stared at Nilay. "Naina loved you so much, but her self-respect comes first. You left her, and now, she has nothing left for you. Leave her alone now".
Nilay's heart dropped as he was devastated by Sunaina's words.
Without thinking, he immediately wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"Don't talk like this, Naina. I love you and can't live without you. I'm sorry for hurting you", Nilay whispered and his voice was full of desperation.
Sunaina stiffened in his embrace and her breath quickened, but she didn’t push him away. Her heart was a storm of emotions, but she refused to let him see how much his words affected her.
"Let go, Nilay. You lost your chance. You left me last night. You ended everything. You didn't give me a chance to explain and now, I won't let you hurt me", she said and her voice was cold.
He tightened his hold, refusing to let her go.
"I will do anything, Naina. Anything to make things right", Nilay said.
Sunaina’s eyes narrowed as she said, "Your actions speak louder than words. You don't get to fix things with a simple apology."
He pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes, a silent plea for her to understand the depth of his regret.
Suddenly, the rain began to pour down, drenching them both in an instant. The cold droplets hit Sunaina's face, but she stood firm and was unaffected by the downpour.
The rain mixed with his frustration as he looked down at Sunaina. His grip loosening slightly. The storm outside mirrored the turmoil inside him.
"Wife! I was wrong. I know I can't undo the past, but I can still try", He said and his voice was quieter now, almost lost in the sound of the rain.
Sunaina shook her head, stepping back, her wet hair clinging to her face. "I don't want your apology".
The rain continued to pour, but neither of them moved. The tension between them was thick, a silent battle of broken promises and lingering feelings.
Sunaina turned to leave and started walking away from Nilay. But suddenly, she paused and turned back towards him. His eyes lit up with hope, expecting some form of reconciliation. But her next words hit him like a storm, freezing him in place.
"Nilay! Let's divorce," she said coldly and her words were sharp blades that cut his heart.
Nilay stood still, unable to move, the realization was sinking in slowly. His chest tightened and his heart pained, but his mind couldn’t grasp what he had just heard.
Suddenly, he took a deep breath while staring blankly at him and asked in a calm voice, "What did you say?".
Sunaina stood in front of him and her expression was unreadable. The rain soaked through her clothes, made her look as cold and distant as the storm itself.
"I said, let’s divorce", she repeated.
Nilay’s brows furrowed deeply as he stepped forward while his gaze was searching hers.
"Say aloud. You are so short that your voice couldn't reach my ears", Nilay said in a teasing tone.
Sunaina’s eyes flashed with fury as Nilay's words hit her.
"You....?", Sunaina growled furiously and the next moment, he pulled her towards himself.
She tried to push him away, but he was too strong. With a sudden movement, Nilay lifted her into his arms, his hold firm and unyielding.
"Put me down, Nilay!", Sunaina snapped, her face flushed with anger, but Nilay simply ignored her protests.
His eyes were intense, showing a mixture of frustration and determination. He moved with purpose, his grip never loosening as she struggled against him.
"Let me go! I mean it!" Sunaina's voice was sharp, but Nilay didn’t respond. He carried her as if nothing could stop him.
Her breath quickened as she glared at him, but deep inside, she couldn’t deny the raw emotion that simmered between them. Yet, she wasn’t ready to give in just yet.
Nilay’s grip tightened as he held her near to his chest and asked, "Now, repeat your words. What were you saying?".
Sunaina's heart raced, but her gaze didn’t falter. She glared at him, defiant despite the storm of emotions swirling inside her.
"I said, let’s div....."
Before she could complete her sentence, Nilay silenced her as his mouth crashed down on hers in a hot, searing kiss.
The intensity of his kiss stole her breath away, and she froze, caught off guard by the sudden rush of emotions flooding her senses.
His arms tightened around her, pulling her closer, as if trying to prove that no words could break the bond between them.
