The morning was a sight to behold as the clouds drifted lazily across the sky, while the sun played hide and seek with them. Amidst this picturesque scene, a man with honey-brown eyes stood gazing intently at the person sleeping beside his bed.
He took a deep breath and his mind wandered back to the events of the previous night at the club, memories that made his head thump with pain and betrayal.
The pain of losing his loyal brothers and the betrayal of his trusted driver.
As he stood lost in overruling thoughts, the person beside him stirred from her slumber. He murmured her name softly, "Tarana".
Just then, the door to the private room opened and Jaikesh, with small and shaky steps, entered the room. Their eyes met, and Jaikesh's eyes turned watery, his lips trembling with emotion.
Despite the pain and turmoil in his mind, Avyyan managed a lopsided smile on his lips and called out, "Buba".
Jaikesh rushed towards him but stopped short when he saw Tarana beside him. He looked at her and then at Avyyan, his eyes filled with concern and worry.
Jaikesh knew that Avvyan did not like any woman around him except his sister.
When this thought popped up in his head, he threw outside immediately as his eyes bore into Avvyan's eyes.
At this moment, Jaikesh struggled to speak, his voice barely audible. After a few moments, he managed to express his concern and relief upon seeing Avvyan.
""Rājā, rājā! Timī ṭhika chau. Ma dhērai ḍarā'ēkō thi'ēm̐. Timīlā'ī kēhī bha'ēkō bha'ē hāmī sabailē kē garnē thiyauṁ?" {King, King! Are you awake now? Are you okay? I was so scared. What would we all have done if something had happened to you?}, Jaikesh said, his voice trembling with emotion.
Avvyan was touched by Jaikesh's words, feeling a warm sensation in his chest.
"Ma ṭhika chu, cintā nagara. Ma yeti sajilai marnē chain" {I'm fine, don't worry. I'm not going to die that easily}, Avvyan reassured Jaikesh, trying to ease his old trusted man's anxiety. However, his statement seemed to worry Jaikesh even more.
Jaikesh was about to speak, but Avvyan interrupted him.
"Where is Naina and Why is she here?" he asked, referring to Sunaina's whereabouts and Tarana's presence.
Avyaan's tone was serious, and his eyes were fixed on Jaikesh, waiting for an answer.
"Princess specifically asked Tarana to be here", Jaikesh replied and Avyyan's brows raised as he said, "Interesting! And what about Naina?".
Jaikesh's heart was pounding as he nervously gulped down and replied to Raja, "No one knows the Princess's whereabouts".
Avyyan's eyes hardened and his chest heaved up and down fast, indicating his growing anger.
Jaikesh noticed the change in his demeanor and spoke up instantly, "Our men are still searching for her".
Avvyan's voice was stern as he asked Jaikesh, "What exactly happened when I was unconscious?".
The tension in the air was palpable as Jaikesh prepared to recount the events that had led to the Princess's disappearance.
Tarana was in a deep slumber when she was abruptly awakened by Avyyan's voice. She rubbed her eyes and looked around, only to find that the hospital bed was empty. Jaikesh was standing near the bed, his eyes fixed behind her.
As she followed his gaze, she noticed Avvyan standing behind her. His dominating aura was palpable, and Tarana couldn't help but crane her neck to get a better look at him.
Tarana's eyes widened with concern as she turned to face Jaikesh.
"Buba! What happened?", She asked, her voice trembling with worry.
Jaikesh's lips quivered as he struggled to find the right words. Finally, he spoke in a straight line, "I'm afraid the news is not good. The princess is missing."
His words hung in the air like a heavyweight, and Tarana's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation.
She looked back at Avvyan.
"Princess was accompanied by the most skilled members of our team. Her bodyguard and her henchmen were either her. Unfortunately, we seem to have lost their trail and are unsure of their current location. We have tried reaching out to them through various means, but have not received any response. We are now looking for constructive ideas to locate them", Jaikesh stated, and Avvyan's breathing labored as he responded in a cold tone, "You have an hour. An hour to give me a brief report of the situation and the whereabouts of my sister".
Jaikesh was stunned by his coldness. Tarana looked sympathetically at Jaikesh as both of them were aware of Avvyan's coldness and ruthlessness.
All the softness and warmth Avvyan had within himself could only come out for Sunaina.
On the other hand, Avvyan pushed open the door to the washroom, the cool tiles under his feet providing a welcome respite from the warmth of the day.
"Don't take a bath. Your wounds are fresh. You need to take care of your body. We have to search for the princess together", Jaikesh spoke loudly to him.
Avvyan took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh scent of soap and disinfectant that filled the air. As he made his way to the sink, he splashed his face with water, feeling the droplets trickle down his skin. After ten minutes of washing his face, brushing his teeth, and combing his hair, he stepped out of the washroom, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever the day had in store for him.
Avvyan's voice broke the silence, "Let's go."
Jaikesh blinked his eyes, startled by the suddenness of the statement. Tarana, who had been lost in thought, looked up at them, curious about their next move.
Jaikesh's eyes widened in surprise as he watched the patient attempt to leave the hospital room.
"You can't just walk out like that. The doctor needs to come and check on your surgery, and you're not even discharged yet", Jaikesh spoke in his firm but gentle tone.
His words were laced with concern as he gently guided Avvyan back to his bed.
Avvyan asked Jaikesh, "Where are my team, clothes, and phone?"
Jaikesh, with a calm demeanor, replied, "Your team is standing right outside this room, waiting for you. Your clothes are neatly packed in these bags, and your phone is securely in my possession".
Avvyan's piercing gaze locked onto Jaikesh, and he spoke in a commanding tone while his gaze landed on Tarana for a second, "Good, now make a strategy."
At that moment, Tarana knew exactly what he wanted - for her to leave the room.
Without hesitation, She stood up and addressed Jaikesh, "Buba! I'm heading home. Please let me know if there's any news about Naina".
As she walked out, Tarana couldn't shake the feeling that Avvyan was up to something big - and she was determined to be a part of it.
However, on the other hand, she knew that she could not dare to enter into his plan. It was always a die-die situation in Avvyan's plan and this time it was for her sister. He wouldn't accept a single mistake from anyone.
....
On the other side of the Shimla, Sunaina's heart skipped a beat as she caught a glimpse of the man who stole her heart in the first crash.
She couldn't help but feel overjoyed at the sight of him, and her face lit up with a big smile even if she was in immense pain. It was as if all her worries had disappeared at that moment, and she was filled with nothing but pure happiness.
At that moment, she couldn't think about anyone.
Nilay looked at the wounded girl in front of him and asked in a calm voice, "Hey Kid, How are you feeling now?".
She nodded her head meekly and replied in a low and gentle tone, "I am in pain but I can tolerate them".
Nilay could understand because Sunaina's stitches had opened and lost so much blood as well. She would get discharged two days later.
"Could you tell me your name? What exactly happened to you? Who shot you? Do you know you were driving rashly? From whom you were running away? Don't worry, you can trust me and Yeah, My name is Nilay", Nilay told her.
His name was already imprinted on her soul. However series of his questions made her to think differently as Sunaina's devious imagination began to weave intricate schemes, starting with the very foundation of her identity - her name.
The name she chose to present to the world was "Divita".
As Nilay stood there, lost in thought, his breath hitched and he murmured her name softly, "Divita?"
Sunaina, who was looking at him, said confusedly, "Hello?"
Nilay was suddenly jolted back to reality as he heard his voice. He looked at her, and he asked her a question that caught her off guard, "How old are you?".
He asked, his eyes fixated on her. She blinked her eyes a couple of times, not sure what to say.
"Ummm", She was about to reply to him. However, the sudden appearance of Shlok disrupted her.
Nilay and Shlok nodded at each other.
"Well, you have to stay here for a few days. I have some important work to finish. My friend Shlok will be there for you", Nilay said in a casual tone but his words hit Sunaina like a ton of bricks.
He continued to say, his voice was calm but firm, "I already paid the medical bills and other expenses. I'll contact the police for your safety. The police will help you return to your home".
Sunaina's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. She had no choice. Either she would run away from the hospital or face the police.
