...
The Devil was blazing as there was a strong passion in her eyes.
A fire and a thirst that could either create something amazing or destroy everything.
She knew that her one wrong move could make everything fall apart. She knew her rage could ruin it all
But she did not care about anyone because the storm was squeezing her heart and making her unable to think straight.
There was a sea of fire burning in her chest and she felt the urge to destroy everything in its flames.
In this flaring rage, she clenched her fists as her nails dug into her palms.
The words of Neil Khanna about the engagement announcement of Nilay with Masoom echoed in her mind.
"Nilay Khanna is going to get engaged to Masoom Arora"
That announcement taunted her and seared her soul.
The thought of Nilay, her Nilay, being tied to another woman ignited a storm of fury within her.
"Meri mohabbat ka naam kisi aur aurat ke sath jude, Naina ko ye bardasht nahi" [My love's name is associated with another woman, Naina can't tolerate this!].
Sunaina hissed through gritted teeth as her voice was trembling with the force of her anger.
Her vision blurred with a red haze as she imagined Masoom Arora, the woman who dared to claim what was rightfully hers.
Every fiber of her being screamed to tear this intruder apart and to rip her from Nilay's life.
The wounded devil within her stirred and snarled and it was ready to unleash its wrath.
Her heart was pounding like war drums as she succumbed to the darkness festering inside her and transformed her fury into an unstoppable force.
And then, Sunaina snapped.
A wicked thought popped up in her devilish mind.
She would let nothing stand between her and Nilay, even if it meant tearing the world apart to keep him by her side.
With a fierce determination, Devil walked as her eyes were cold and full of anger. She headed straight for the stage and her mind was set on her goal.
With a quick glance, she signaled Nora to cut off the electricity. The next second, the entire Khanna mansion was swallowed in ominous darkness and the sudden black-out left everyone in silent confusion.
"What's wrong with the electricity?" Neil Khanna's voice boomed through the darkness as he searched for his wife. "Love, baby Aashmaan, stay with me," he called out, but received no response from her.
Sunaina sneered coldly as she moved like a shadow.
Sunaina avoided the watchful hawk-like eyes of the security team. No one noticed her in the crowd as she slipped through and her movements were as quiet and smooth as a serpent in the desert dunes and her target was - her Angel's mother.
She approached and was hidden by the darkness as she ready to act.
...
On the stage, Sunaina swiftly grabbed Aashmaan's hand and pressed a gun to her back.
Leaning close, Sunaina whispered coldly in Aashmaan's ear, "Don't shout or make a move, or I'll shoot your husband."
Aashmaan's heart raced in fear as her vision was blurred by the darkness and she was unable to see Sunaina's face.
The sudden threat left her frozen in terror.
"Follow me," Sunaina ordered as her voice left no room for hesitation.
With the gun still pressed against Aashmaan's back, Sunaina led her away from the stage and moved toward the other side of the party.
As soon as Sunaina left the main party hall, the lights flickered back on, restoring visibility. But when Neil looked around, he realized that his wife had disappeared from the stage.
***
Sunaina stood there and her gaze was locked onto Aashmaan, who sat calmly on a comfy chair and was blinking innocently up at her.
The older woman's gentle demeanor was a stark contrast to the storm brewing inside Sunaina.
"Who are you, my child? Why are you doing this?" Aashmaan asked softly as her eyes were flicking to the gun in Sunaina's hand and her voice was laced with concern.
But instead of calming Sunaina, the question only stoked the flames of her anger.
The innocence in Aashmaan's eyes and her gentle tone, it all felt like a mockery to Sunaina that was causing her grip tightened on the gun as her rage was boiling over and she struggled to keep control.
"Are you playing with me too, like your son has been dancing on my head for the past few months?", Sunaina growled as her voice was low and dangerous.
The intensity of her words made Aashmaan jump in fear and her calm composure was cracking for the first time.
Aashmaan stared deeply at Sunaina, trying to make sense of the situation. After a moment, she took a deep breath and asked, "Can you introduce yourself? I really don't know who you are."
Sunaina's nostrils flared in anger as she stepped closer, narrowing the distance between them.
Her laugh was cold and was filled with bitterness. The disbelief in Aashmaan's eyes only fueled her rage further.
"You don't know who I am?", Sunaina hissed and her voice was dripping with venom as she continued to speak, "I'm the woman who your son will never forget".
Aashmaan blinked her deep brown eyes innocently that irritated Sunaina more.
"You act very well, but I'm not fooled, Mrs. Neil Khanna," Sunaina snarled as her voice was laced with venom.
"First, your son tormented me, and now your husband. So tell me, what should i do now? My devil is thirsty and in pain, Mrs. Khanna. My devil wants blood. Should I take your life and leave your bloodless body here to welcome your husband?", Sunaina said and her words were terrifying.
Her tone was ice-cold and filled with malice as she stood dangerously close to Aashmaan.
The threat in her voice, her bloodshot eyes and the pale and determined face made it clear that she was not bluffing.
At that moment, a genuine fear gripped Aashmaan's heart.
Sunaina's presence was suffocating her, and her words struck terror deep within her.
Aashmaan could feel the danger radiating from Sunaina and the sense that she was teetering on the edge of violence.
Aashmaan squirmed uncomfortably as she was telling the truth but Sunaina was not aware of Aashmaan's disease that was hidden for everyone except the families.
"My child! Tell me everything. I know nothing. I.. I don't remember anything", Aashmaan said as her voice was trembling with sincerity.
Even after getting scared of Sunaina's words, Aashmaan had an unknown and unexpected warmth and calmness for her.
But Sunaina's rising temper blinded her to Aashmaan's distress. With a swift motion, she pressed the gun harder against Aashmaan's temple.
"Don't talk, Mrs. Khanna. My devil is blazing", Sunaina said in a warning tone.
Sunaina's voice was cold and unforgiving. Aashmaan continued to stare at her. Even when her eyes were wide with fear, she was trying to imprint Sunaina's image in her mind and it was a last desperate attempt of her to understand what was happening.
Sunaina took a deep breath and her chest was heaving as she struggled to regain control.
She looked down at Aashmaan and her grip on the gun tightened as she tore between the urge to act on her rage and the knowledge that this was her Angel's mother.
Devil fought to calm the storm within her as she was trying to keep herself from crossing a line she knew she might never return from.
"How can your husband fix Nilay's marriage to someone else? Your son is only mine. I can't even tolerate a woman looking at my man. How can I handle knowing that he was about to wear a ring from another woman? His name was going to be attached to some random woman", Sunaina demanded furiously.
Aashmaan's frown deepened at Sunaina's outburst as she asked, "Are you angry because of this?".
She was confused and fear was mingling in her voice.
"Angry? Naa, I'm thirsty for blood, Mrs. Khanna. I can't even tell you what my devil's mind wants to do right now", Sunaina said.
As Sunaina's words sank in, Aashmaan felt a chilling cold creeping over her and the fear tightened its grip with every passing second.
The danger was palpable, and the threat in Sunaina's voice made her shiver uncontrollably.
"Do you know, I want to kill you. I want to kill your husband. And if you're not alive, I think your husband will definitely die too", Sunaina's voice was crazed and her threat was clear.
Aashmaan was trying to steady herself as she asked, "You love my son?"
Sunaina sneered and her tone was icy, "You already know this. I told you that I love Nilay and no other woman can come into his life except me."
Aashmaan shook her head as she was trying to stay composed, "Can I call Nilay and tell him to come here?"
Sunaina tilted her head and handed Aashmaan's phone to her, "Call him."
Aashmaan took her own phone with trembling hands as she dialed Nilay's number. It connected quickly.
"Mom! Where are you? Dad is worried about you," Nilay's concerned voice came through the line. Aashmaan's heart accelerated fearfully.
"Nilu! I'm inside the mansion, on the other side of the party hall," Aashmaan replied calmly and her eyes never left Sunaina.
Before she could say more, Sunaina snatched the phone and hung up.
Aashmaan took a deep breath and looked at Sunaina.
"I don't remember that we had ever met before. But from your words I understand that we have met before. Please forgive me, my child. I have a disease in which I don't even remember my name, face or identity. I am suffering from face blindness. No outsiders know about this", Aashmaan confessed that caused Sunaina to pause as she confused by the revelation.
Before Sunaina could respond, the thunderous sound of approaching footsteps made her mood to shift abruptly.
Looking at the entrance, Sunaina pointed her gun again at Aashmaan who was calmly sitting on a chair.
And then she turned to see Nilay and Neil entered the hall and their expressions were hardening at the sight of Aashmaan being held hostage.
Sunaina's heart raced as she looked at Nilay, but she knew this was not a moment for romance. It was time for action.
"Pookie! Swagat nahi karoge Mera?" [Won't you welcome me?], Sunaina said, waving her hand at Nilay and Neil and left everyone stunned and speechless.
"Sunaina," Nilay murmured softly and his voice was trembling. His heart skipped a beat at her sudden appearance.
"What... Why are you here?" Nilay asked as he was trying to steady himself.
"I'm not in the mood to chit-chat. Let's come to the point. I'm asking you for the last time, Nilay. Do you love me or not?" Sunaina demanded directly and her voice was harsh.
Nilay's jaw twitched as he noticed how uncomfortable his mother appeared.
"No, I don't love you," Nilay replied firmly. Suddenly, Sunaina's sinister laugh echoed through the room.
"Good to know. I don't need your love because my love for you is enough for me," Sunaina declared in Obsessive tone and her words left everyone in stunned silence.
The members of the Khanna, Grey, Kashyap, and Miller families watched in shock as Sunaina made Neil Khanna, the Devil, her archenemy.
"Let go of my mother and leave my home now, Sunaina," Nilay's voice boomed, a commanding force that everyone heard for the first time.
Sunaina laughed hysterically while shaking her head and her hands tightened as she pressed the gun on Aashmaan's temple, while pulling the trigger, "It's time for some actions".
