...
She stood outside of a beautiful cafe in the valley of the mountain that was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun.
A gentle breeze tousled her hair. Her eyes sparkled with recognition as she gazed upon the familiar figure in the distance and a smile spread across her face like a blooming flower that was radiant and full of warmth.
"Shlok", She whispered and the name rolled off her tongue like a cherished melody that carried with it a world of memories and emotions.
She moved hurriedly towards him and was about to wrap her arms around him.
But before she could reach him, Shlok was abruptly pulled back, and in his place stood a furious feminine figure and her presence cast a shadow over the scene like an approaching storm.
A deep helpless sigh escaped from Shlok's mouth as he called, "Perna! Calm down".
Perna threw a bombastic side glance at Shlok and then she glared at the girl who dared to hug her boyfriend.
Shlok shook his head in disbelief and turned his attention to the girl.
"Hi Divita! Long time no see", He said, his voice tinged with nostalgia.
Caught in the tense atmosphere, Divita hesitated for a moment before managing a weak smile.
"Hi, Shlok," Divita replied her voice betraying a hint of nervousness.
Perna snorted coldly while rolling her eyes at Divita who was looking blankly at her.
Shlok sensed the escalating tension and held up a hand in a gesture of peace.
"Calm down, Perna! There's no need for any misunderstandings. It's a friendly gesture. That's it", Shlok suggested his tone gentle yet firm.
Divita nodded and said softly, "I agree". As she tried to diffuse the tension.
However, her smile faltered slightly under Perna's intense scrutiny.
"I don't hug the opposite gender", Suddenly, Perna's icy tone cut through the air like a knife and her brows raised in defiance as she made her stance clear.
Perna declared her words firm and uncompromising.
However, a pang of shame flashed across Divita's eyes as she replied quietly, "I understand".
Divita suppressed any hint of embarrassment in her voice.
Shlok intervened once more and tried to ease the tension and he said in his tone reassuring, "That's okay. We're all friends here".
However, Perna growled annoyingly at her angel, "She is not my friend. I don't even know her. I am here only because of you and for you".
Shlok stood there helplessly.
Perna's eyes were like a dagger as declared and her words cut through the air with a sharpness that sent a chill down Divita's spine.
"Use only words. Don't touch him. He is MINE".
Divita was stunned by Perna's blunt declaration as she nodded and respected Perna's boundaries.
Shlok was familiar with these words and his girlfriend's attitude and devilish obsessive personality.
Perna's gaze hardened as she directed her words at Divita and her possessiveness was unmistakable.
Then Perna looked at Shlok and said in her voice a mixture of anger and jealousy, "And you, don't stand for others in front of me".
Shlok took a deep breath, "Do I need to clarify myself?".
Perna rolled her eyes but she did not deny the fact that Shlok always stood for her and never cared about other girls but he did care about her likes and dislikes and handled her tantrums.
On the other hand, Divita swallowed hard and felt the weight of Perna's words as she replied quietly, "Sure".
Shlok watched the exchange with a furrowed brow and a sense of unease settling over him. He knew how to tame his devil.
So, Shlok quickly clasped Perna's hand pulled her slightly, and made her stand close to him. Feeling Shlok's reassuring grip on her hand, Perna's tension began to melt away, and, a sense of security washed over her like a warm embrace.
This small gesture instantly calmed her down and Her heart swelled with affection for her angelic boyfriend. She cast a grateful glance at Shlok who was looking at Divita.
"How are you Divita?", Shlok asked Divita.
Shlok's question broke the momentary silence as he redirected the focus to Divita who took a deep breath and replied with a small smile, "I'm doing okay, thank you".
Divita's voice was carrying a hint of warmth, "How about you?"
"We are good", Shlok responded.
"That's good to hear," Divita responded as her smile widened slightly at the reassurance.
"I have something to ask you. I will not talk in riddles. I am here because I want to meet Nilay. And it's important", Divita said as her voice was full of a sense of urgency and determination.
Shlok's brows furrowed slightly in surprise at Divita's straightforward request, but he maintained a calm demeanor and his tone was attentive as he continued to speak, "Is everything okay?".
Perna listened to their conversation silently as her sixth sense sent a message. However, she chose not to interrupt their conversation.
"I will explain everything once I meet Nilay. If it's possible then can I get Nilay's contact number? I tried his previous number but it's unapproachable now", Divita said and Shlok's hold tightened on Perna's hand.
There was an unsettled query in his heart. Without confirmation, he could not share Nilay's information with anyone; not with Divita too.
Shlok had a little knowledge about Divita and Nilay's broken heart. They all studied together in the same school, in the same class but in different sections.
Shlok cleared his throat and explained, "Divita! Nilay is not present in Shimla. I don't know where he is right now. We could meet today because I had come to Shimla to meet my aunt. Otherwise we would not have met today".
Shlok squeezed Perna's hand twice and Perna understood it clearly as she spoke, "Baby! I am not feeling well. Can we leave now?".
Shlok stared at his devilish girlfriend and responded, "Of course".
Shlok glanced at Divita and said, "Take care. We are leaving now".
As Divita watched Shlok and Perna leaveving, a sense of frustration gnawed at her. She had hoped to inquire about Nilay but the opportunity had slipped away. The fact that Shlok hadn't shared Nilay's contact information made her irritated and left her unsettled.
On the other hand, Perna's brows furrowed deeply as she asked, "What's the matter with this girl?".
"I don't know about it. I don't have a good feeling about her arrival either", Shlok said and Perna stopped abruptly and then she pulled him close to her and said, "Then don't think about her. Look at my beautiful face. Think only about me. Okay?"
Shlok stared at her bewilderedly.
Back to the outside of the cafe, Divita stared at Shlok who left with Perna.
She was about to step inside the car but suddenly she felt a soft tap on her shoulder. She turned around to look at the person but all she got was . . .
