"I don't wanna lose you
Be without you anymore
I can't lose you
Don't even imagine it
I don't wanna lose you
Be without you anymore"
AVYAAN
..
Past :-
In the quiet hills of Nepal, a young man stood alone, leaning against a wall. His sharp eyes stared into the distance as he smoked a cigarette.
His face was calm, cold, and unreadable.
Suddenly, someone grabbed his arm.
He stiffened and looked down at the person.
It was a young girl, around twenty years old. She was breathing heavily, as if she had run all the way there. She wore a bridal dress. Her hair was messy, and her dark-lined eyes were wide with panic.
The man's gaze slowly moved from her face to her slippers. She was a gorgeous young lady and her bridal dress was beautiful but strangely paired with pink slippers.
He didn't react.
"Are you single or married?", she asked him in a shaky voice.
He didn't answer. He simply took another drag from his cigarette while his dark eyes met hers.
She shifted nervously. "Listen... I'll be honest. My groom left me at the wedding. And... I have to get married today".
He didn't move.
"My father spent all his money on this wedding. If you marry me, I'll pay you. We don't have to be a real couple. We can get a divorce in a week or a month, whatever you want. What do you say?" she went on as her words were rushed.
Silence fell around them.
He blew out a cloud of smoke. It drifted into her face, and she coughed.
Still, he said nothing.
He just stared at her, like she was some strange sight he couldn't figure out.
A few moments passed.
Then, slowly, he gave a small nod.
Her face lit up with a bright smile. "Really?".
Without waiting for him to speak, she grabbed his hand and pulled him along.
"Papa! I found my groom!" she called as they reached her house.
Her father's face went pale. "Raina, my child. what is this? Please, don't do this...".
"Papa, it's okay. You spent so much money. I can't let it go to waste", she said while holding onto the stranger's arm.
Her father's voice cracked. "I am not sad your groom left. I am happy you are safe. You don't have to force yourself into another marriage. I won't let you suffer".
"Really; Papa?", Raina's voice softened.
Her father nodded, pulling her into a hug. She went inside the house with her father.
The guests slowly left and the wedding decorations were forgotten.
But the young man still stood there.
Silent was only around him.
A cigarette was burning between his fingers.
He didn't move or speak.
He just watched Raina from a distance while his face was blank.
Then, in a quiet voice, he said her name.
"Raina...".
She didn't hear him.
She had already forgotten about the man she once asked to marry her.
But he was still there.
"Kabir". Suddenly someone called his name.
He turned around and found his best friend Satluj was staring at him.
"Kabir! What are you doing here? I was searching for you everywhere. Let's go now. King is waiting for us. Our vacation ends here", Satluj said. But Kabir didn't say a word as they left Nepal and returned to India.
..
In the hospital room, Sunaina lay still and her face was pale against the white pillow. Machines beeped softly, but her mind drifted far from the present.
In her unconscious state, memories played like old reels. It was blurry yet vivid.
She saw her father, his strong hands holding hers as they walked through a sunlit garden.
His deep voice echoed in her mind, teaching her how to tie a knot, how to load a gun, and how to stand tall even when the world pushed her down.
"Sunaina, never let anyone see your fear", Kabir said.
A memory of her falling and scraping her knee flashed by. She remembered the sting of the wound, but even more clearly, the warm comfort of her father lifting her up, his thumb brushing away her tears.
Then came the darker memories, moments when his face was shadowed with worry, when his voice shook as he warned her about the dangers that lurked outside their home.
"You are strong, my Sunaina. But strength means nothing if you don't know when to use it"
The images kept flickering, her father's blank, cold, sinister laugh, protecting gaze were like a never-ending loop of lessons and blood.
And then, a final memory... his back turned as he walked away one last time.
A tear slipped down Sunaina's motionless cheek.
Outside the room, the world kept moving but inside her mind, she was just a little girl, reaching for a father who was no longer there.
Suddenly the scene changed. All she remembered was standing on the street and rain was soaking her and her mother's unconscious body.
"Mother! Please wake up".
Sunaina was five years old, crying miserably, shaking her mother's body which got hit by a car.
The car stopped a few metres away and the driver stepped out to check the situation.
A minute later, a man who was sitting in a passenger seat also came to look at the situation.
"What's wrong, Jaikesh?", The manly voice was too deep and icy that startled Sunaina who lifted her head to meet the man.
"King! This lady jumped in front of the car with this child", Jaikesh said.
The man looked at the little girl and the woman who was unconsciously lying on the wet street.
'Raina?'... He called her name mentally.
This man was Kabir Khadka, the King of Scorpion Satan.
"Take them to the hospital". Kabir said and they went to the hospital.
Sunaina couldn't help but was scared around Kabir, mostly his expressionless face and dead eyes.
She continued to sob.
The doctor came and reported Kabir.
"The lady is not in good health. She miscarriage the child. Her physical condition is worse as if she was assaulted or getting physically abused by someone. Her body is full of marks and injuries".
Kabir gave a curt nod.
He looked at Sunaina and asked, "What's your name?".
Sunaina was shivering under his cold presence.
She opened her mouth to speak but words caught in her throat.
Kabir left the hospital and when he returned the next day, he met Raina who was fully conscious but she didn't recognise him. She cried as she knew that she lost her child but held Sunaina's hand tightly. Sunaina was all she had now.
Without saying a word to her, Kabir arranged everything for both mother and daughter in the Base. He got the report from his team about Raina and his abusive husband and broken marriage. Her husband and husband's mistress threw her outside of the house in the middle of the night with a five years old Sunaina.
But destiny had another plan for Sunaina. Both mother and daughter got lost in the valley and then there, they got kidnapped by the local goons.
Sunaina's innocent heart was crushed that day when she saw how leechers were trying to touch her mother improperly.
A seed of darkness of hate, revenge and blood sowed into her naive heart.
Raina protected Sunaina as they ran away from the goons's place and Raina hid Sunaina in a house whose window was open.
This house was Nilay's maternal grandparents' house.
Sunaina stayed there, hidden behind the pillar, staring at the shadow of Nilay who was unaware of her presence in the house.
She ate his chocolate while crying and thanking to whom she had no idea about it.
A few hours later, Raina took back Sunaina out of the house and was running away from the darkness and then they met him again.
Kabir Khadka was there, with the members of Scorpion Satan.
Kabir looked at the pair of mother and daughter and said only this.
"Sit in the car".
Raina did.
The car straightly stopped at the entrance of Khadka mansion.
A boy around eleven or twelve years old was swiping the floor who looked at the new faces at the entrance.
Kabir looked at the boy and said, "Avyaan! Take care of her for now".
Avyaan instantly came and stood beside Sunaina like a knight while still holding the broom.
But Sunaina was scared of the new place, amongst the new and scary faces.
She ran to follow her mother. Avyaan wanted to stop her but Jaikesh stopped him.
"Let her go, Avyaan. She is a small child who needs her mother", Jaikesh said. Avyaan pursed his lips, stood there, unwillingly.
On the other hand, Sunaina stood outside of the room and was hearing Kabir's direct words.
"You will stay here in the Khadka mansion. You will follow all the rules of mine. I'll give my name to your daughter. I will fulfill the role of a father in your daughter's life. I will take everything from you and i will give you everything of mine except the title of my wife. Are you willing?"
Raina was stunned.
Sunaina was unable to understand what Kabir was trying to say but his straight words were clearly telling her that her life was going to change completely.
"I am a mafia King of scorpion Satan code name 'The Satan'. This is my territory. You were lucky that my subordinate found you in the dark valley that was a nightmare for everyone".
Kabir said and Raina continued to listen to him.
"Are you scared now?", Kabir asked.
Raina shook her head.
"What will happen to my child? She is my everything. I have no one in my life. She is my one and only family", Raina said in a cracked voice.
"This Khadka mansion and we are family. Here both of you are safe and about your child, then I won't hide it from you. I will give her power, strength and if she passes my test then I'll give her position as well".
Sunaina blinked her eyes as something was stirring in her innocent heart.
Raina had nothing to say. To protect her daughter from the dark evils, she agreed, willingly.
Kabir looked at Raina and said, "Did you lose your memory or something?".
Raina shook her head. She didn't lose her memory but how could she remember an unknown man, a stranger whom she asked for a marriage.
Kabir knew she was not the same chirpy, bubbly girl who asked him to marry her.
That Raina was lost, broken and dead.
This Raina was a mother who was willing to stay in the nameless relationship with Kabir only for her daughter.
"I am willing", She replied.
"Good! Then a reminder for you. I don't like anyone to interfere in my work or words. So, never dare to interfere when I will teach our daughter".
Kabir's words shook Raina and Sunaina stood still outside of the door, blankly.
The door opened and Kabir knelt down, looking directly into her eyes and said, "I am Kabir Khadka. Your father".
Sunaina's gasped as her eyes flew opened and the flashes of her childhood was still flowing in her head.
Tears brimmed in her eyes as she remembered Kabir and her mother Raina.
The nurse found Sunaina's monitor which was beeping fastly and informed the doctor.
The doctor came and checked on her and was about to tell her something but she shook her head negatively and whispered, "Nilay".
The doctor called Nilay who rushed in the room while his heart was pounding frantically inside his chest.
"Naina"... Nilay whispered and moved slowly towards her.
Sunaina held his hand tightly and said, "Where is he?".
Nilay's brows furrowed deeply but the next second his eyes widened. Sunaina's eyes were teary and red as she was taking deep breaths.
"Naina! What....?". He was confused.
"Where is he?", Sunaina sobbed loudly, leaving him stunned.
It was the first time when Nilay saw her crying.
Nilay's heart was dropping rapidly at her sob.
Nilay leaned closer and whispered, "Sister-in-law is fine. Your brother is with her. A few members are injured and a few lost their lives. T-Rex, Nora and Dino... They are all good. Don't cry my love. Don't cry. Your husband's heart is weak. It can't control itself. It's breaking at the sight of your tears".
Sunaina didn't stop crying and murmured, "Child...."
Nilay's eyes were red as well, "Fetus is unstable but your nephew is a fighter. Don't worry".
Sunaina closed her eyes and said, "Nilay! Our child".
Nilay's world stopped and tilted.
His wide eyes met hers.
She cried, "I want my child back".
These words stabbed his heart.
