Two- Yay, socialization!

(A/N This chapter is dedicated to Quietcove Because they stopped by my house today and gave me baguettes and Christmas presents and I know I will never be able to repay them, so, here's this chapter in hopes that it covers a little bit of my debt. Seriously sister, what do you want for Christmas though? I could like... give you some jewelry? A roll of toilet paper? XD)

I woke up in a room, at first I thought it was a prison cell, then I realized it was just a gray hotel room. Well, it looked like a hotel room, but with the over ten twin beds it felt more like... a military encampment? Kind of? Or an insane asylum. I realize that's what it is, because I would fit right into an insane asylum. Makes sense.

"Hello," Someone said sweetly to me.

I looked up and saw a young girl, wearing a short magenta skirt. Her shirt was lavender. Her lips had bright red lipstick, and her hair was pitch black, all gathered up on the top of her head in what looked like might be a mountain. Or a bun. I couldn't tell.

"Welcome to the Sorting Chambers," She smiled.

I used my hands to push myself up onto my knees. That's when I realized I had hands, and knees. I was a human again! I sighed in relief. The purple girl sat on my bed next to me, and looked at my eyes.

"So, do you know where you are? Want me to explain?" She asked, smirking, her voice soothing to the ears.

"No," I said. "Leave me alone."

She glared at me, and suddenly I felt a feeling overcome me. I stared at her, and watched her eyes shut halfway as she put her hand on mine. I felt awkward. But this new other feeling made me stay still, it made me grab her hand back. It made me lean towards her and-

"MARIA!" Someone yelled.

The feeling melted away as the girl looked over at the new guy. I suddenly yanked my hand away from hers, shooting her a disgusted look. What was I thinking?

"You swore not to use your powers on the new students," The man hissed.

Maria sighed and stood up, winking at me as she walked towards the man. The man had white hair, pulled back in a ponytail. He wore a white suit with a blue tie.

"Where the heck am I?" I asked, still a bit confused by the Maria thing.

"The Sorting Chambers. All will be explained after all the new students wake up," He explained, his voice cheerful.

I watched him escort Maria out of the room. I had to admit, she was very cute. But whatever she did to me back there was not okay.

"What the-" Someone started.

I looked to my right and saw a young boy sitting up in their bed. He had straight white hair that was long enough just to cover his neck, he was rubbing his head. And he was taller then me. Great.

He looked towards me in confusion, then he immediately looked away, a small blush forming on his cheeks. I didn't even know this guy. Dang. I mean, He is very handsome. His sky blue eyes where memorizing- but I don't fall in love. I can think someones cute but not like them, right?

"H-hi," He said.

I snorted and looked ahead of me. Human interaction was not my thing. Then again, apparently I'm not a human-

"Did you... have a weird thing happen to you?" He asked.

That perked my interest. I faced him again and nodded.

"Wow. Looks like we are special!" He smiled. "Like heroes!"

I frowned. I'm no hero. I'd rather punch someone in the face then solve things peacefully.

"My dream come true!" He exclaimed. "I always wanted to be special."

I blocked out his voice and glared at my hands, watching them, waiting for them to turn a different color.

"LAFAYETTE?!?!??!" Someone yelled, breaking my thoughts.

I realized it was the boy, he was now standing up, facing a dark-skinned guy with poofy hair in a small man-bun. There faces where angry. I realized just now we all wore the same clothing. White shirt, black pants. Simple. Annoying.

"LAURENS??!?!" The guy shouted in a French accent.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING?" John asked loudly.

"Will you two shut up?" I asked.

"Why do I have to be stuck in a room with HIM?" John complained.

"YOU have to be stuck in a room with MOI? I'M stuck in a room with TOI!" Lafayette yelled.

The boys glared at each other, they both looked ready to run at each other and kill the other person.

"Calm down," Someone said from their bed.

"Stay out of it, dweeb," Lafayette hissed.

Wow, that escalated quickly. 'Dweeb'? WORST INSULT! Oh no! I'm going to die of insult-ness. Although, this fighting interested me. I hadn't had a good fight in a while.

And suddenly, just the same way as Maria had done it, a new feeling washed over me. Hatred. Anger. I could see everyone in the room suddenly put on a mad face.

"John Laurens," Said the man from earlier, walking back in the room.

Suddenly John backed off, settling down, and the anger in me flitted away. Wow, some weird things with emotions are happening around here.

"Welcome, everyone," The man said, moving on like the argument never happened. "You may be wondering why you are here."

"Hell yeah I am, YOU CAN'T JUST KIDNAP US DUDE!" Someone shouted.

"It is because everyone here has powers," The man moved on. "You are all young. All the same age. We have a special system in finding you special people, at a certain day, all the next special people develop their powers. We have a person with a special power that can sense people nearby, she senses special people like you especially well on this day."

"We don't need your life story, can we go home now?" I asked loudly, earning a snicker from someone.

"The point is, because you are special-"

"More like cursed," I grunted.

"-you will be attending a school here. Someone will sort you into either Angel Academy, for the heroes, or Darkside Academy, for the villains. Although, here we believe everyone can become a hero if they wish."

"I don't think I want to go to school, thanks," Someone said.

"Lets go. Follow me," The man ignored the protests from angry children.

I didn't move as everyone else followed the man. I didn't want to move, so I was not going to. While everyone else filed out, the white haired guy from earlier approached me.

"Why are you so sad?" He asked, standing in front of me.

"Sad?" I asked.

"Yeah," He said, it was just us alone now. "Hatred with an inner sadness, and further below that, happiness. Why are you so sad? The sadness is taking over your happiness."

"I'm not sad, and this does concern you," I grunted, laying back on my bed and looking at the ceiling.

I could almost feel his disappointment.

"Aren't you going to come with the others?" He asked.

I ignored him. After a minute, I heard him walk off, a frown on his face, and a depressing vibe. And that, Ladies, Non-Binary pals and gentlemen, is why you don't try to become Alexander Hamilton's friend.

<-^->

After about three hours everyone shuffled back into the room, talking about the day. Everyone had a friend already. I sighed the lonely sigh.

"Now we will all get to know each other a bit better, and then do sorting. We try to form friendships between all the new students before we are sorted, to create unity," The man said as everyone shuffled into the room. "Sit in a circle, in these chairs."

"What, now we're in preschool?" Someone scoffed and I smirked.

"Shut it," Someone snapped back at them as they went to the circle.

They eventually where all in a circle, while I was on my bed. They want me to sit in a circle? Ahahahahahhahahahahah... No. No way I'm playing musical chairs with these strangers.

"Alright, we go around, tell your name, where you are from and your power. And pronouns. Oh, and favorite thing about life," The man said.

I just laid on my back, staring up at the ceiling, my legs hanging over the bed and the tips of my shoes touched the floor.

"Your worst nightmare, France, not telling you, why? That it has an end," Lafayette responded.

"Peggy Schuyler, I'm British, although I moved to America with my father because he got a job offer. I can make portals! She/her or They/Them. It's full of my sisters, magic, friendship and hopefully lots of lesbians!" A young girl with dark skin and a curly GIANT ponytail said, she earned a couple laughs.

"Angelica Schuyler, UK and I'd rather have been born in Greenland," A girl next to Peggy said, Peggy lightly punched her shoulder. "I can travel through time, She/Her, I get to boss my sisters around."

I stopped listening.

Until, ten minutes later, I heard my name. Yes, it took them ten minutes, apparently there was a heated discussion about if "Ya'll" was a real word. Which is isn't. Shut up southerners.

"Hm?" I asked when I was called.

"Your turn," The man said.

"Wait, there's another person?" Someone asked.

"They where sitting there the whole time," Another person replied.

"No, no, no, no/no, no," I responded to the questions quickly.

"Wow," Someone said sarcastically, clapping their hands slowly.

"Alexander, don't be rude," The man said sternly.

"Can we just get this over with? I wanna go home," I complained.

"I like this one already," Someone whispered.

"Fine, ceremony time," The man said, standing up and shooting me a disappointed look. "Follow me."

I decided to follow, because its actually important this time. I just wanted to go home. I don't see the point in going to a special school. I am obviously back in human form, why would I have to go anywhere special? Why can't we just all forget this?
