One- Look mom, I REALLY AM special!
(I can't wait to write this!!! I suggest you read the introducing page before reading this, if you haven't already :) I love you my children, now get your popcorn and prepare for this stuff I come up with at midnight (I actually thought of all this during Language Arts class but midnight sounds more dramatic))
I jotted down some more notes in class, then looked back at the teacher. They where teaching about the Civil War again. I'm a freshman in High School, I don't need to learn about this again! I sighed, deciding to write a poem. I thought of some random words that rhymed and wrote them down.
Darkness will rise to bring the light,
The crystals shine throughout the night,
When the sun e-
"Alexander," The teacher interrupted my thoughts.
"Yes?" I asked, my voice was a harsh tone.
"Are you okay?" They questioned, a look of worry on their face.
What? Of course I'm okay. I was doing nothing that portrayed pain, or sadness or really anything- I write during class all the time. What was not normal?
"...Yes?" I said, more of a question.
"You sure you don't need to go to the nurses office?" They asked.
What? What does she mean? Do I look sick?
"Dude," Someone next to me said.
I looked up at my classmate, they looked worriedly into my eyes. I had never had much friends, actually none, so to have someone in class act even slightly worried about me scared me. I was known for being a annoying, bratty kid, who picked fights and was never really nice to anybody.
"What?" I barked.
"What is wrong with you?" The classmate asked, staring at my face. "What did you do to your face?"
Now I was really confused. The entire class had its eyes on me, some whispering, a couple took pictures. I stood up quickly, knocking my chair over, and sprinted out of class. I reached the boys bathroom, it was just across the hall. Toilet paper and liquid covered the ugly tiled flooring. I looked in the mirror to see my face.
I had little-bit-past-shoulder-length red curly hair, violet-blue eyes, and a bit of peach-fuzz because I forgot to shave earlier and really don't care. I have to say, I am pretty handsome, except for my freckles. But what was astonishing was my skin color. My normal usually pale white skin from lack of sunlight was replaced with a dark kind of red-ish color.
I lifted a hand to my cheek. It felt warmer then normal skin. I watched as my face slowly became pitch black, around my eyes where red spots, and a bit of my hair was now golden and unnatural red. I grabbed a napkin and soaked it in water, then rubbed at my face. Maybe someone had pranked me?
It didn't come off.
"Hamilton?" I heard someone ask into the bathroom.
I panicked. I quickly pulled my hoodie over my head, as I did that I noticed my hands where jet black, too. I looked at the ground so that the shadow of my hoodie would hide my face.
"Yes?" I asked, my voice cracking a bit.
"Are you okay?" They asked, and I saw someone walk in.
"Sure," I lied.
"Alright, well, the teacher says you can go home if you need to," The person said.
I nodded slightly. I watched their feet as they walked away. Then, after a minute, I walked out of the bathroom. I swiftly walked down the hallway. Only looking at my black sneakers and the weird ugly school flooring. I pushed open the glass doors that led into the school.
I lived in a small town in America. It had one High School, which was combined with a Middle School. The elementary was nearby, and the kindergarten was connected to it. My town was made of pretty much one street, it was made of old red brick. There where the average stores and businesses on Main Street. There was a single neighborhood, a road with quiet houses on it. There where also a couple other houses miles away that where still part of the city.
I reached my bike, that was at the bike rack in front of the school. I hoped on and started pedaling down Main Street. Someone said hello to me, but I ignored them and kept moving on. I never said hello to anyone, I don't ask how they are doing, because why does their feelings affect me?
I reached my house, and set my bike on the grass in my front yard. I then sprinted inside. My house was simple. White, a brick chimney. I hated it. It felt old. And everything was so bright. Why make everything white, when you could paint a room black?
"Alexander, what are you doing home?" My father asked.
I ignored him and kept walking through the house. I kept looking at my feet, because if I looked up he would be able to see my face. I walked through the living room, the flood transitioned to dark wood as I entered my room. I locked he door behind me.
I then walked towards my closet, took off my hoodie, and stared into the small mirror I had propped up on the wall.
My face was jet black, dark red spots and diamonds shone under my eyes, next to my eye brows and on my ears like earrings. My hair was black, fading to dark red, with gold tips. My fingers where growing longer. No, just an illusion. I took off my shirt. My entire chest was also jet black. I turned around in the mirror and looked over my shoulder at my back.
My back was also jet black, with some weird spikes coming off of my spine. The spikes where red, with a bit of gold on the end. There where also two little bumps on my shoulder blades.
I watched as my face slowly grew... longer? I was suddenly taller then my mirror, and the bumps on my shoulder blades where growing bigger. I close my eyes. It's a dream. It's a dream.
Then I opened my eyes. And I didn't see me.
I didn't see a human.
I saw a giant lizard.
I had a long black snout, red-gold eyes, red diamonds under my eyes. My horns where the same colors as my hair had been. Most of my scales where black, but once in a while I found a dark red spot. My wings where black, and the skin that connected to the bones was black fading to red at the ends.
I had some golden spots on my wings as well. My feet and tail all faded to a almost black red, and my spikes had gold tips.
I was about four times as big as I used to be. Probably about Toothless size.
"Boy," I heard my fathers angry voice.
I heard his footsteps approach the door.
"What?" I snarled.
My fathers footsteps paused.
"What?" I asked again.
"Alexander what is in your room?" He asked, and I heard him touch the door knob.
"Nothing, its just me," I grunted.
"What is that growling?!" He asked, and the door began to wiggle.
He can't understand me.
I used my weird dragon talons to push my entire bed next to the door so he couldn't open it. In the process, my tail knocked over my desk, dresser and put a hole in the wall. My wings broke my ceiling fan, which fell to the floor.
"ALEXANDER!" My father shouted.
I turned around, causing more things to smash and break. I stuck my head out the window. Which would barely fit. There was only one way out.
So, like the smart and logical kid I am, I knocked my entire wall down. Hah, might as well break down another wall. HI READERS! Welcome to my chaotic life! As you can see I just transformed into a giant lizard... anyway-
I spread my wings and flapped them frantically. Of course, I couldn't fly yet, I had no experience. So, I sprinted away, tripping over my extra two legs and tail.
I ran through the green grass, up a small hill, and soon I was walking up the side of a hill almost big enough to be a mountain. I turned around, the perfect little houses where lined up on the road. One of those houses did not have a wall.
Oops.
I continued up the hill, spreading my wings and tail for balance. I managed to get to the top, breathing heavily and looking down over the town. The small tiny town. My small tiny town. With me being... this... thing, would I ever enter my town again?
I sat down like a dog, and rested my wings at my sides, glaring around me.
Then I heard helicopter propellers.
I looked up and saw a white helicopter flying down towards me, and a person was leaning out the side. They had no weapon. Yet still, I stood up and began to run away. Then some feeling came over me- some feeling of sleepiness.
I fell to the ground, skidding through the slightly wet grass. My eyes felt so heavy. Maybe if I could just close them for a minute I would feel better-
Then I was unconscious.
(What a way to start a story)
