(Y/n) laid sprawled on her bed, her body felt like it was being crushed under a 50 pound weight. She didn't know why she was feeling like this, she took care of herself pretty well. But sometimes her body just didn't agree with her, today her body was screaming at her. She just tried to ignore the feeling crawling in her chest and head. She hated this feeling. She pushed herself off her bed, and went into the kitchen. Although her movements were sluggish, she slowly got a cup filled with water.
The cooling feeling gave her burning throat a relief. She shook her head trying to get her head together, although that only made her dizzy. She took a deep breath making her mind calm.
"Maybe I need a walk." She mumbled to herself. A sudden idea came into her head, she would go to her favorite shop in the city. She would always go to that shop when she need to repose. She grabbed her coat, said good bye to her dog, and excitedly went out the door.
----------------------------------------
The air grew colder as she walked outside. (Y/n) always liked the cold, for some reason breathing in cold air was more refreshing to her. When she breathed she saw her breath condense again, it was fascinating how her warm breath contrasted with the cold air. She always liked to see the contrast. Sometimes she imagined childish things like she was breathing fire. She grinned to herself as she trudged through the heavy populated streets again. Although the streets were way more dense with people than the last time she saw. The amount of people pushing and shoving was almost overwhelming.
(Y/n) didn't let the people get to her mind as she kept looking for her favorite shop. However one harsh shove to her side caused her to tumble and trip. Instead of a harsh impact to the ground, she felt a soft impact on something warm. She assumed it was someone's chest she fell on, and she could also feel the pressure of someone's hands on her arms steadying her. She separated immediately and bowed to the person.
"I apologize! I did not fall on you on purpose!" She exclaimed in a haste.
"It's you..." The voice made (Y/n) snap her head up. In front of her was Licht Todoroki, once again. (Y/n) was practically in shock as she did not expect to see him twice in her lifetime. She was joking around with a meeting of fate, but perhaps it was not a joke. Licht as well did not expect to see her again.
"It's you..." She repeated. The two locked eyes with each other staring in shock and silence. (Y/n) was the one to break it with the clearing of her scratchy throat.
"Todoroki-san...it's nice to see you again!" She exclaimed giving off a happy grin. Licht still had a bored look on his face, but he gave a minuscule nod as he acknowledged her greeting.
"What are you doing out here?" She asked.
"Walking." Licht replied simply. (Y/n) sweatdropped, and once again she grew a little awkward as she tried to find what to say.
"Todoroki-san, want to come with me someplace?" She asked, it was a long stretch. But (Y/n) was willing to take a risk.
"Where?" He asked.
"It's this little tea shop downtown. It's not grand or anything but the products they have are really good, and it's quite a tranquil place." You explained, your tone got more excited the more you spoke. Licht continued staring at you with a callous expression, but he grew curious. You grew nervous at his passivity, and you guessed he wasn't interested.
You nervously chuckled, "I guess you're busy or something? That's ok." You said with a smile.
"I'm not. Can you show me there?" He asked out suddenly. Licht wasn't one to communicate easily, and he felt some spark of joy as she was the one who invited him somewhere. Maybe it would be worth his time?
Her expression brightened quickly as she skipped ahead of him turning with her hands behind her back.
"Of course!"
---------------------------------------
"Here it is!" She declared opening the door. A tiny jingle of a bell introduced the small tea shop. There were tables everywhere, but the aroma was absolutely delightful. The aroma of herbs as well as something of cinnamon, and other sweets. The decor was dainty as the shop had little plants popping in the corners of the tables. There was scarcely any people making it quiet. Licht didn't admit, but he liked it. Even for a person as stressed out as he was, a few moments in this atmosphere could calm him.
"Isn't it nice? I always like coming here." She said pulling his sleeve a little.
"Come on! They even have sweets here too! Hm..hey Licht have you heard of Boba Tea?" She asked. He looked at her stoically, but she could tell he was confused.
"It's really good! Here I'll buy!" She exclaimed. She worked fast before Licht could utter a word, ordering 2 teas before he could speak.
"Oi, I didn't say I wanted-" Licht spoke out glaring at her, but she cut him off.
"It's gonna be great!" She exclaimed pumping your fists as you grinned. Her luminous expression caught Licht's attention, he found his face warming up a tinge as he felt her expression could pierce him.
"Todoroki-san?" He got caught staring at your face. His body froze for a moment before he willed himself to give an impassive expression before turning his head the other way. (Y/n) just giggled beguiled at his stubbornness.
------------------------------------------
Licht stared down at his drink while (Y/n) watched in him anticipation. The smile never faded from her face, but Licht found her staring a little uncomfortable.
"So?" She asked gesturing to it, Licht didn't know why she was so persistent. Licht himself was inquisitive of it along with hesitant.
"I'm only going to try it because you already spent your money." He said before taking a sip, his eyes widened slightly as he tasted it. The flavor mixed to left when in his mouth, and to say he liked it was an understatement. He was enjoying it, this new drink completely foreign to him. He didn't even predict it would be this good. His eyes glanced at her grinning and chuckling slightly through her teeth. He felt a feeling grow in him again, so he just scowled. His true feelings hidden under one expression.
"It's good right?"
"It's ok." He responded simply trying to keep his cool.
She only laughed causing him to glare at you, "Licht, you're so stubborn." She said as she kept laughing. Licht's scowl deepened as he grumbled to himself. Although even he couldn't help the minuscule bubble of amusement that surfaced when she laughed like that.
Her laugh was cut with a harsh cough, like she choked on air. You took a sip from her tea again letting it soothe her throat. But her lungs burned after the fit, like they were yelling for air. She cleared her throat taking in air harshly maintaining her poise, but Licht already knew there was something wrong. He leaned slightly forward as his impulse ordered him to help in some way. But she shook her head closing her eyes and maintaining her breath.
"Don't worry, that happens when I laugh too hard." (Y/n) said waving her hand dismissively while she smiled once more.
Licht leaned back on his seat again, a little relieved that it wasn't serious.
"Then don't laugh like that if it causes you to cough idiot." He demanding in a scolding.
"But, it's unhealthy not to smile. It makes life less fun and bright." She argued gazing out the window. Licht paused for a moment not expecting the answer, from her tone he could tell she was 100% serious.
"Wouldn't it so boring if no one smiled? It would be like everyone looked the same dull way." She said unconsciously stirring her straw in a nonchalant manner. Licht blinked, even he had to pause and think for a moment. A tiny cough escaped from her again, and Licht this time decided to say something.
"You should take care of that cough." It wasn't a professional answer, but he didn't want to be harsh or quiet.
She sighed, "I know. I just have a problem." She said stirring her straw as she leaned lazily on the table. She looked less chipper and a lot more wearisome, Licht even felt taken a back from the change.
"What kind of problem?" He asked.
"Personal problem. It's no big deal, I don't want you to worry about me that much. I'm sure you have enough to worry about with your piano career." She said. Licht blinked but nodded his head anyway, he felt irritated as he could not get rid of the worry. His mind argued with him to snap out of it, he barely knew this girl and she was right.
"Do you always have that scowl on your face?" She asked tilting her head.
"What?"
"The scowl. I mean don't you ever smile or just let your lips drift upwards?"
"What do you mean?"
"Never mind." She said sweatdropping as Licht was oblivious to what she was saying.
"I bet people don't always point it out."
"Of course they don't. People don't question an angel." He said, tiny sparkles formed around him causing her to snicker lightly.
"You're a grumpy angel."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked shooting her a look, but she giggled letting her hand muffle it. A sudden ding from her phone caused her to stop suddenly. She checked the contacts and her face froze for a moment. She gave a second of slight hesitance before answering. Licht noticed this and he narrowed his eyes as he listened.
"Hello. Yes," (Y/n)'s eyebrow twitched slightly as she gripped the end of her shirt.
"I was just hanging out with someone. I-" She kept silent as she bit her lip. Her expression mimicking one of a reprimand child. She let a tiny sigh pass her lips.
"Ok, I'm going for real this time." She said as she hung up. Her eyebrows furrowed, and she gave a deep frown. Licht noticed the change from bright to dull in just a moment, and he disliked it.
"Who was that?" He asked. His tone was a bit suspicious.
She just smiled sadly, "It's nothing Todoroki-san, but something came up. I need to leave even though I really don't want to." She said getting up from her seat.
"I'm sorry."
"You don't need to apologize if it's important." He said. She blinked but then her luminous smile returned to her face making Licht's heart beat quicken ever so slightly. Her smile somehow affected him, but it didn't irritate him.
"Thank you Todoroki-san. Oh wait!" You exclaimed. You took out a paper with some numbers written on it. Licht took it raising a brow.
"Now we can contact each other! Although I'm kind of nervous you would just crumple and disregard it. But at least I tried! Bye bye!" She bowed to him, her heart beat skipped as did his.
As she passed by the street view window, she saw him still sitting there staring at the paper you gave him. A frown still decorated on his face. She grinned slightly; she neared the window without bringing attention to herself, and breathed on it creating a frost in the cool air. Then she knocked on the window to catch his attention, he saw her and became confused. She dragged her finger across the glass, a circle, two dots across from each other, and finally an upward curve. She created a smiley face in just a couple of movements, she let her finger rest in the middle of the face. Her eyes gesturing subtly to it, Licht hesitated before he let his finger drift towards the area where her finger was. His finally connected with hers only separated by a transparent glass, but it looked like they weren't separated at all.
She laughed taking her finger off the window waving good bye. Licht's one stayed for a few seconds more as he watched the picture she drew fade in the air. His impassive face looking downward, as he clutched the paper in his hand. He let the tiny good feeling spark in him as his heart beat quickened even more.
