Coming In, Going Out

I tightened my grip on the dark table causing my knuckles to turn pure white. I took the knife and turned it, studying every feature before averting my gaze to the table contrasted from my skin. With all the force I could gather I plunged the pocket knife into the center of the table.
My grip on the knife tightened as I stood there. I gritted my teeth and just stared angrily at the table as if it were my parents. I stood like that with the knife inside the night stand. I just sat there for about 3 minutes.
Someone threw the door open behind and I whipped around letting go of the knife and yanking out my sword faster than I had ever done before.
On front of me stood a fairly tan, blond hair, blue-eyed, handsome boy with his hands in the air as if surrendering to an enemy.
His eyes displayed panic and fear like clothes displayed in a shop window, definitely visible and obvious.
His eyes darted from me, to the sword, to the knife, then back to me, then the sword and so on. It was the boy that, 6 months ago, gave me the tour of Camp Half-Blood. Will Solace. "Solace." I said putting my sword back in my belt.
"You okay, Amber?" Will asked raising his eyes at me.
"Yeah. Why?" I asked confused.
"First of all, I saw Nico leave without you. And, second of all, I heard something slam in here."
"Oh, uh... the slam, that was, uh, me plunging my pocket knife into my night stand." I said awkwardly stepping away and revealing to Will the knife embedded in my table "So, Nico left camp without me."
"Correct. Nico did leave." he said nodding slowly "Why, exactly, did you decide to murder your night stand."
"It was just out of anger. No worries, everything's fine here in cabin 13."
"You sure?"
"Absolutely."
"Okay."
"See ya."
"See ya, Bambi."
I yanked my knife out of the table with a little struggle.
Why do I feel different about Will? The pain comes in and when he's around, it goes out like a campfire on a rainy, windy, frosty winter night. Coming in, going out. Weird. I contemplated.
"Whatever." I mumbled shrugging and letting out a long sigh as I sat on my bed.
I pulled out my journal and doodled a kid leaning against a doorway. On one side it was bright and sunny and the other side was dark and gloomy. When I finished coloring with my colored pencils I realized I had drawn Will. The bright side was right outside the Hades cabin at Camp Half-Blood and the dark half was the Hades cabin. On the bottom I randomly wrote something.
"Coming in, going out." I read aloud my eyes darting back and forth studying every detail. "Coming in, going out."
