Chapter 9: Sleeping With a Friend
Given Cas hadn't texted back nor had the 'Read' symbol popped up below the text Dean had sent, Dean decided to walk to Cas's house to show his family the picture, and maybe wake Cas up and act like Luce and Michifer in the process.
Dean knocked on the door which was opened seconds later by Becky, "Oh, hi Dean, come in. Any chance you passed Lucifer on your way here? I need to know if he's eating breakfast here or at Michael's since he's not answering his phone."
"Well, my guess is he's eating at Michael's since he obviously feels pretty comfortable there," Dean replied, taking his phone out to show Becky the picture he took.
She let out a tiny squeal and clapped her hands, "How long do you think it's gonna be until they get together?"
"Well, I know Michael and he tends to be stubborn about this type of thing, and he's still a bit wary of Lucifer, but he'll probably come around in, at most, six months."
She waved a hand, "Ah, it's not that long a wait. By the way, Cas is upstairs in his room, I'm not sure if he's still sleeping or not, you can never tell when he's going to get up, whether it be five in the morning or five in the afternoon."
"Ok, thanks Mrs. Novak."
Dean started up the stairs, Cas lived in the attic, which was the fourth floor. Gabriel, Chuck and Becky shared third floor which also had the guest room and bathroom; the second floor was the main floor for the kitchen, living room, and dining room, and Lucifer lived in the basement.
Dean sometimes questioned why Cas would choose the attic to live in, considering all of the steps. It was about 3 flights of stairs to get from the main floor to the attic, as there was a small little door that led to a small flight of stairs that finally got you to the attic. It killed Dean because so many stairs, Cas, why.
Dean knocked softly, knowing that Cas left the door open. When he put his ear to the door and didn't hear anything, he opened it and walked up the nine stairs to his room.
Cas had posters of Sherlock, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Doctor Who tacked up all over his room. There were also a few pictures of bees, which Dean still don't know where he got that obsession from. In the corner of the room under a small skylight was his bed, and across the room from that, was his bookshelf that contained a shit ton of books.
Dean moved over towards Cas's bed, where he was still sleeping soundly. His hair messed up even more than normal, his lips parted softly, and his eyelashes fanned out over his cheeks; they skylight above casting a bit of a shadow making his jaw line more prominent. He shifted in his sleep, turned over to his back, and opened his eyes.
"Dean?" He whispered, voice hoarse from sleep.
"You have really pretty eyes, I ever tell you that?" Dean was caught by Cas's beauty.
"Yeah, I've only heard it from you a couple hundred times in the last month and a half," he softly chuckled.
"Oh that reminds me, it's October 21st, what are you gonna do for Halloween?"
"Mourn over the deaths of James and Lily Potter," he deadpanned, "Also quick question, what time is it?"
"You have a clock right next to your bed, Cas."
"Oh, right." The clock read 11:30 a.m. "Ugh, it isn't even noon yet."
"Yesterday was Saturday and you were literally up at four."
"Correction, I stayed up until four, then I went to sleep."
"How do you even- nope nevermind, I'm not even gonna ask."
"Ok then, goodnight," he buried his head under the covers again.
"No, get up you lazy fuck," Dean ripped the covers off the other boy only to realize how good he looked without a shirt. Oh my god he has a v line. How much does he work out? Damn, Dean thought to himself, staring at Cas's abs.
"In case you haven't noticed Dean, you're the lazy fuck in this relationship," Cas's voice snapped Dean out of his staring.
"True, but still, get up."
"That's a very shitty argument," he said as he continued to try to bury his head back under the covers.
"C'mon Cas, get up, or I'll drag you out of bed," Dean said, knowing that what he said wasn't exactly a threat.
"Or you could sleep next to me."
"Uh, what?" Dean squeaked out, hoping he wasn't blushing though he could tell he probably was.
"I said you could sleep next to me instead of dragging me out of bed."
"Yeah, yeah okay." Dean laid down next to Cas, and as nice as he found it, he already had a different idea. Dean wrapped his legs around Cas's midsection, flipped him over himself, off the bed and onto the floor. "I think I'll drag you out of bed, as nice as the latter may be," Dean said, as he stood next to where Cas laid on the floor.
Cas then wrapped his legs around Dean's ankle to trip him, pulled Dean on top of him and turned the both of them over so he could pin Dean to the floor. "In case you might have forgotten, I'm the top."
They stayed in that position, breathing heavily and staring into each other's eyes for a few moments when Cas moved off of him. Dean stayed where he was, still out of breath,
"Are you going to just lay there or are you actually going to come downstairs," Cas said, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Dean.
"But, so many stairs," Dean whined, "Also, you might wanna check your phone, I texted about where your brother is."
He stepped over Dean and to his phone, opening it and looking at the picture Dean sent, "Ship it. He's also gonna get teased endlessly by Gabe, too."
Looking over and seeing that Dean was still laying on the ground, he put his phone down and scooped him up into his arms bridal style.
"How are you even doing this? I'm like, 200 pounds!" Dean exclaimed, not really trying to move out of Cas's arms.
Cas walked all the way down the stairs with Dean in his arms until he finally put him down.
"Aww look at the happy couple!" Gabriel exclaimed as he saw them.
"We're not dating. By the way did you see the picture of Michael and Lucifer?" Cas replied, nonchalant.
"Yeah, Adam texted me. Oh Lucifer is going to get so much shit for that," Gabriel laughed.
"I'm going to get so much shit for what?" Lucifer asked as he walked into the house.
"Nothing," Gabriel replied way too fast to not be suspicious.
"I would ask where you were, but we already got enough of that information," Becky said as she kissed Lucifer's forehead.
"What are you talking about mom?" Lucifer asked slowly, eyes becoming guarded.
"Haven't you seen the picture?" she asked. Oh no, Dean thought, It all leads back to me. I pissed off Satan.
Dean started slowly backing up to the door, Cas watching with amusement as Lucifer said, "What picture?"
Gabe opened his phone to the picture and held it out to Lucifer, "Adam sent it to me after Dean sent it to him."
Lucifer slowly turned his head toward Dean as the other boy ran out the door yelling, "Bye Cas!"
"Aww, your boyfriend said bye to you," Lucifer cooed to Cas, then proceeded to sprint out the door after Dean.
"Fuck!" Dean yelled as he ran past his house and to Michael's, where the two families usually had "Sunday Brunch," or as the kids call it, hanging out and teasing each other until it's lunch time. Dean threw open the door and yelled toward the kitchen, "Michael! Your boyfriends chasing me!"
"Who?" Michael asked, but Dean was too busy panting to answer and Lucifer was already behind him, being much faster (and much more in shape).
"I have a good reason, too. Have you seen the picture? I mean, it's pretty good, but still..." Lucifer trailed off. Dean was sweating like crazy, but Lucifer hardly broke a sweat.
"What picture?" Michael asked, Jo held up her phone to show him.
"Huh," he said, nodding his head as he analyzed the picture, "You may proceed."
"What?" Dean yelled as he ran through the house and out the back door.
"So, what's with all the chasing?" Michael asked as Dean sprinted off, Lucifer staying behind.
"Morning workout," Lucifer shot him another blinding smile and winked at him, "Also, he started it, and he's probably just gonna go back to my house to see Cas shirtless anyway, so it's not like I don't where he'll be."
"Wouldn't be shocked. Have fun, you should come over again later. Oh and here," he handed Lucifer an energy bar.
"You're the best," Lucifer said, smiling a bit lovingly as he ran back out the front door.
"Hi Mr. Singer!" Michael heard Lucifer yell as he crossed the lawn to go back to his house.
"You two are such boyfriends," Adam commented as Lucifer ran out.
Michael watched the blonde boy as he ran, appreciating the view and replied, "I could say the same about you and Samandriel."
"Shut up," he replied as Bobby came in.
