Chapter 7: Everybody Talks
Cas followed Dean up to his room, slightly confused at why Dean got embarrassed when his dad mentioned that he talked about Cas. Most friends do talk about their friends so what's the big deal? Cas thought.
"So, you talk about me?" Cas asked, a bit jokingly.
"Oh shut up," Dean replied, throwing one of the pillows on his bed at Cas.
"Hey, we had to go through that with my dad, it's only your turn."
"Oh, yeah, anyway there's a Star Trek marathon on, wanna watch it?"
"Sure, but I still have to write for English, since my chapter book that's due next week only has about one chapter," Cas said, taking his iPad out of his book bag so he could start writing.
"What are you writing about?" Dean asked as he turned on Star Trek.
"Well, as a friend of mine so gracefully put it, I'm writing a Percy Jackson knockoff. At this point since the teacher doesn't read our writing, I'm about to just turn in some Spock/Kirk fanfic that I've already written and call it a day."
"You ship them too?" Dean asked, looking at Cas incredulously.
"Only homophobes don't."

Michael was alone with his thoughts on his drive home, since Lucifer was following behind him in his camaro, and all he could think about was what Lucifer had said to Jeremy. Now, Michael wasn't necessarily into Jeremy, the boy reminded him far too much of Peter Pettigrew for any of that to ever happen, but he was at least nice to him. But now he doubted that he would be nice to him again. Not because of what Lucifer said, no, but because he heard their conversation.
When Lucifer had asked to talk to Jeremy Michael had done the same thing Lucifer did minutes earlier, disappear behind the corner and then eavesdrop to your heart's content. Now disregarding the fact that Michael's heart beat a bit faster at Lucifer being so protective over him and wanting what's best for him, he was a tiny bit pissed at the Pettigrew lookalike that had been copying off of him for about two years now.
He wanted to thank Lucifer, though, but how could he do that without admitting both to hearing everything and feeling a bit warmer inside at what Lucifer said?
Michael then heard a knock at his car window, rolling it down he saw Lucifer.
"Dude, you turned into your driveway and have just been sitting here for like three minutes now, you ok?" Lucifer's light blue eyes gleamed down at Michael concernedly.
"What?" Looking around Michael saw that he was, in fact, sitting in his usual spot where he parks his car in his driveway, "Oh."
"Earth to Michael, are you ok?" He asked, looking a bit concerned. To Michael, Lucifer was like a geode, he looked rough and a bit rude on the outside, but once you escaped his "Hate List" (or "hit list," as Michael called it) you learned that he was just like a puppy that wanted attention. Attention that Michael would gladly give him, as much as he didn't want to admit it.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go."

Given it was a Friday, Gabriel and Cas stayed over at the Winchester's until it was about 10:00, when they had to leave so their parents wouldn't assument hey we're kidnapped.
"I'll drive you guys," Dean offered, as Cas was putting his stuff away in his backpack.
"I think we're good, given we live about five houses down."
"Well we don't live in a suburban neighborhood, so the houses are farther apart," Dean defended.
Cas sent him a pointed look, "You really think Gabriel and I can't, what's the phrase, hold our own?"
"No, I know you can kick someone's ass without breaking a sweat. I was just offering," he held his hands up in defense.
"Thanks, but I think we're good." Cas shrugged his backpack on and headed down the stairs to the front door where Gabriel was already waiting with Sam.
"Hey Cassie, what took you so long?" Gabe wiggled his eyebrows. "By the way, looks like Luci's still at Michael's," he pointed to the black sports car which was still parked next door.
"Wouldn't be surprised if he tries to stays the night," Cas commented.
"Wouldn't be surprised if Michael kicks him out," Gabriel said in return.
"True. Well, we need to get going before our parents send out a search party. Thanks for having us over Mrs.Winchester," Cas said to Mary, who was standing about five feet away.
"Please, Cas, Mary. Really, you two are welcome any time," she replied with a kind smile.
"Thanks Mary," Gabriel said, finally stopping his chat with Sam.
"I'll see you later," Cas said to Dean, waving goodbye, as Gabe did the same to Sam. They left but not before Cas could hear Mary say to Dean, "Well he's cute," hear Sam giggle and Dean reply, "Mom!"

Cas and Gabe heard Lucifer's car turn into the driveway about two hours after they got home.
Cas and Gabe were sitting on the couch in the living room when their mom ran down the stairs, turned off all the lights and sat in the armchair with a lamp right next to it.
Cas and Gabe kept quiet, deciding not to question their mother's antics when Lucifer walked in, quietly shutting the door behind him, their mother turned on the lamp and gave Lucifer a look, "What were you doing that made you get home so late?"
"I was at Michael's," Luce replied. Gabe got up, dodging the light shining from the lamp and headed to the kitchen without making a sound.
"Michael Milton's house?" Becky asked.
"No, the craft store. Yes Mike's house! Mother, you knew this! I asked you if I could go over to his house after school this morning!"
"I know sweetheart but you let me have too much fun," she got up from the chair, turned the lights back on and went over to Lucifer to pat his cheek.
"So what were you doing that took so long?" Gabriel came out of the kitchen with a bowl of m&ms. "Was it," he paused to wiggle his eyebrows, "dirty stuff?"
He screeched and ducked when Lucifer threw his shoe at him.
"Well I'm going to bed before this gets any weirder," Cas announced, getting up from the couch.
"Goodnight! But you're getting interrogated about Dean in the morning! I have Gabe to interrogate at the moment," Lucifer yelled at his retreating back.
"Have fun with that," Cas replied monotonously.
Their mom sat back down in the armchair as Lucifer started, "So... have fun at Sam's? Did you hear that he's hanging out with that Moore girl a lot more now?"
"Yeah, but I'm better than her! I'm a better friend and he knows it."
"I don't think Sammy is exactly looking for friendship. He thinks he's growing up, if you get my drift."
"I'm still better!"
"Ooh, Gabey's got a crush!" Lucifer announced as their mom watched in in incredible interest.
"Least I don't have a crush on the school's straightest jock!"
"He's not that much of a jock!"
"So you do have a crush on him!"
"I love you guys but shut up I'm trying to sleep!" Their dad yelled from upstairs.
"Sorry dad!" Lucifer and Gabe yelled up, then bid goodnight to their mother, deciding to
finally sleep.
~~~~~~
It was about 2 in the morning when Lucifer's phone rang, blasting 'Raise Hell' by Dorothy.
"Hello?" Lucifer answered the phone sleepily.
"Hey," Michael replied softly, telling that Lucifer was still half asleep, "so, I know I should have said this earlier today but..."
That's it for chapter 7! I might go back and re-do some things back in chapters 2 & 3. Yes I didn't mention it in the last chapter but Sam started talking to Jess more. Also book recommendation: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is really good and you guys really should read it. Thanks for reading! Edit 4/30/17: This was a lot more angsty before I changed it so you're welcome.
