Angel

"So how many people are coming tonight?"

"Literally no idea...probably a lot. Denki's hosting, so..."

"Yeah, he's always inviting everyone and anyone. Does this look cute?"

I stared at my best friend Mina's slender figure, eyeing up her little red dress, accompanied with her fake trident sword and of course her own horns.

"Cute as can be," I winked, "What about mine?"

I did a little twirl and looked in the mirror as Mina's eyes rolled over me, "I absolutely love it. The wings tie it in, you know? Although, don't you think the best friends going as an angel and devil is a bit...overdone?"

"Yes, completely. But that's cause it works, babe," I smiled, picking up the lip gloss from the counter and smacking it on, "We are for sure going to get lucky tonight."

"With that attitude, you should be the one with the devil costume on," she giggled, stuffing a large amount of money into her purse.

"Why on Earth are you taking all that money with you?! Wait...Mina, I swear to Go-"

"(Y/N), please!" she cut me off, "I need to be home by midnight. As much as I want to make bad decisions with you, I'll need the money to get a cab back. Please, please, please don't be mad!"

I huffed, crossing my arms under my chest, "Then who's gonna be the devil to my angel?"

She laughed, ushering me out the door, "I'm sure you'll find a suitor to fill that role, now let's go."

Denki's house was pretty much the party palace as far as our college friends were concerned. Ever flowing drinks, questionable substances and pretty people were all part of the package. He'd invited Mina and I to his so called 'costume party' - which was just a convenient excuse to get us to dress up like, well, whores. And it worked.

I hadn't met him before last year, Mina had introduced us shortly after we met, saying that they used to go to the same high school. A few of her other friends also attended college with us, including Kirishima, Jiro, Uraraka, Bakugo and Todoroki to name a few.

Mina and I exited the cab and looked over the house in which the party appeared to have already started. I shuffled awkwardly in my dress, trying to adjust the short hem that slipped up in the car. "You ready?" I beamed at her.

"As always."

We entered the fairly large house. Denki didn't stay in a dorm like Mina and I, which meant his house was the perfect place to hold these events. He shared with Kirishima and Bakugo. Although, Bakugo was never fond of the get togethers. He could usually be found sulking in his room, or playing video games with a sour face.

"Denki!" I shouted excitedly, waving to him in the hallway where he was stood talking to Uraraka and Todoroki.

"Oh come on, guys, you're fucking killing me here," he said dramatically as he placed a hand on his heart and pretended to swoon, "My little angel and devil? How am I going to concentrate on the night if you're both looking like that?"

I stifled a giggle whilst Mina slapped him over the head, "And what the hell is your costume supposed to be, huh?" she asked menacingly, pulling his blond locks.

"Can't you see my ears? I'm a mouse, duh," he said bashfully.

"You don't even have whiskers, idiot. Anyways, we need drinks, stat," Mina said affirmatively, dragging Denki by the ear to the kitchen.

I giggled at the two watching their usual antics unfold, then decided to say hello to Uraraka and Todoroki. I smiled at them, looking at their outfits. Uraraka was in her best Harley Quinn get up, whilst Todoroki was in a plain and simple black tee, with half his face painted on as a skeleton.

"Hey, (Y/N)! You look amazing!" Uraraka said excitedly, grabbing on to my wrists.

"So do you! How have you been babe? I've not seen you in a while."

She looked at me bashfully, "Oh, you know. Hero stuff. Deku and I have been working on a case together, so yeah..."

I smiled at her, knowing she always got nervous talking about the boy, "Where actually is Deku, huh? Not partying with us tonight?"

"Well...he was the joker but he got called off on duty in work. You know how he is," she said shyly. The thought of Midoriya saving people dressed as the joker did make me giggle a fair bit.

"Ah that's a shame, at least you have us to keep you company, right skeleton?"

Todoroki looked up from his phone confusedly, "Huh? Oh, yeah," and back down to his phone he went.

Uraraka and I shared a knowing look, trying not to giggle at his disinterest. He'd always been like that. We were sat talking about the usual gossip and girl things when we heard a slight squeal at the front door.

"Oh my god!"

"Is it really him?"

"Hawks! Can we take a picture?!"

There stood Keigo Takami. World famous hero, world class douche. He would often attend Denki's parties, some shit about 'keeping up apperances with the young adult's', but it was all bullshit. There's only one reason he'd ever come to these parities.

Sex.

"Looks like our guest of honor has arrived," Uraraka giggled, looking away from the crowd gathering around Hawks.

"More like guest of horror," I said rolling my eyes.

"Oh come on, (Y/N). You have to admit, he's pretty cute."

Uraraka and I tried to have conversation whilst the havoc was wreaking in the background, but it was too difficult. It was like all of a sudden these 20 somethings became teenage girls again. Even some of the guys were trying to sweet talk him.

I grunted, "Fucking pro heroes showing up here always kills the vibe."

I felt a warm hand trail up my shoulder, adjusting the straps of my white dress that I didn't even realise had fallen, "Is that right, little bird?"

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. He probably could see the goose bumps he left when he trailed my skin. I turned around slowly, quickly trying to decide which angle to pivot this conversation. "Yeah, you know what I mean."

He chuckled, bringing his hand to my chin and pulling it up to face his tall figure. He was so tall and slender, yet had an impressive amount of muscle. His boyish face really was a sight to behold. "I'm not sure I do, do you wanna try and explain it to me?"

I pulled my face away from his hand, practically shouting at myself to not get star struck. His eyes were so golden and beautiful, it was pretty rare to see him without his glasses on and casual clothes, a welcome surprise. "I'm good, thanks. Plus, you're not even wearing a costume."

"Do you really think I need one, sweetheart?" he chuckled lowly, fanning his wings a little.

"Guess not."

I quickly exited and left to go meet Mina in the kitchen. Uraraka was stood practically motionless at the events that just unfolded. Hell, even Todoroki was looking up from his phone, only in slight curiosity.

I slipped through the crowds of people in the living room and made it to the kitchen where there was even more hoards of people, although significantly less than the other rooms.

"(Y/N), Kiri made you your fave," she shouted over the music, beckoning me over to her where she was stood with Kirishima and Denki.

"Thank you very much," I smiled at him as I took the drink out of Mina's hands, gulping it down quickly.

Kirishima laughed at my sudden need for alcohol, "Wow, wow, that's not very angelic now is it, (Y/N)?"

I finished the cup and slammed it down on the kitchen island, "Spare me, please. I just went through a traumatising event."

The gang looked at me confusedly, but also like they were intrigued.

"Yeah, saw that little spat with birdie. What's going on there?" Bakugo asked, coming up from behind me and grabbing a beer. The others started whispering and giggling to themselves.

"Absolutely nothing and you know it, Katsuki."

He smirked, taking a sip of his drink and patting me harshly on the shoulder twice, "Don't lie like you're not a fangirl too."

"What gives you that impression?" I argued with him. It was often that Bakugo and I would argue like siblings. He just gave me such fierce little brother energy.

"Hmm...the red face was kind of an indication, but I think the come to bed eyes was what sealed the deal for m-"

I cut him off by pulling his beer out of his hands and downing that too.

"Hey! You owe me!" he shouted, pushing me out of the way to get another beer.

"No, if anything you owe me for what you said. Anyways, do we have anything stronger around here or what?"

The night continued on. Jiro was in the corner of the living room, queueing music whilst talking to Denki and drinking. Mina was chatting with Uraraka and Todoroki (reluctantly) on the couch and Kirishima and Bakugo were playing beer pong on the dining table. Most of the Hawks fangirls had left and surprisingly, I hadn't seen him in a while. I kind of assumed he had left, but in all honesty, I didn't know a thing because I was absolutely way too drunk.

I lazily sauntered over to the now beer pong table, leaning on Kirishima's arm. "What are you guys doing?"

Kirishima laughed at my sorry state, "Just playing beer pong. Have you never played, (Y/N)?"

I shook my head no, looking over at Bakugo at the other side of the table. "How do you play?"

"Usually, you'll have two teams, one at each side of the table and you have to bounce the ping pong ball into the opposing teams cup and they have to drink it. If you miss, you have to drink. Pretty simple, although, you usually have to play in even numbers."

"I can join," chirped a famliar voice behind me.

"Oh! Okay, cool!" Kirishima said, "I thought you'd left to be honest, Hawks."

I looked over my shoulder as he casually strode towards the table, "How could I go home when my biggest fan is still here?"

I grunted, fully not caring what he had to say anymore purely because of the intoxication, "Shut up, you're so annoying."

Kirishima looked at me shocked, even Bakugo had opened his eyes a little wider. Hawks on the other hand was just chuckling. "So you're the 'say what you think' drunk? Hm, how interesting."

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, are you in my team or not?"

"It would be a pleasure," he said sarcastically as we all assumed our positions at the table.

I felt his hand place on the small of the back as he brought his lips up to my ear, intoxicating me even more with his scent, "Just so you know, I'm planning on winning this."

Two can play at that game.

I turned so that I was mere centimetres away from his face, looking into his golden eyes, "Just try not to come second in this too 'kay, number two?"

His usual smirk grew a tad even wider whilst Bakugo snickered from the other side of the table.

"Ladies first, (Y/N)," Kirishima said, passing me the ping pong ball. I bounced it over their side of the table, capturing it in the cup with ease.

"Damn, guess I'll be the first one to drink then," Bakugo said in a mocking tone, taking a quick shot that was on the table.

Bakugo went next, obviously perfectly scoring into one of our cups. I sighed, picking up some sort of pink liquid and sipped it lightly, "This is fucking putrid."

Hawks giggled at my discomfort, "What are you sipping it for? I hope you're not planning on slowing down any time soon."

"Why's that? So I can become the topic of your Monday morning gossip session?"

This time, Bakugo laughed for real, whilst Kirishima looked defeated.

"You're really trying to press my buttons, huh. Nothing angelic about you," he said proudly and threw his shot, scoring into one of the cups.

The game lasted another good few rounds, only myself really missing any of the shots which did not help my drunken and disorderly state. But I didn't really mind, the night was a bust anyways. Mina had left long ago, Denki and Jiro were away doing who knows what, Uraraka left for Midoriya and Todoroki was passed out in the corner sofa.

I sighed, plopping myself down beside Todoroki, my wings practically falling all over the place. I decided to take them off and rest them on him as a joke, snapping a quick picture.

"He looks far more angelic than you, look at that sleeping face."

"Oh great, you're here in my business again."

"The one and only."

Looking at the man, I couldn't help but take in his beauty. His jacket had long since been taken off, his wings splaying elegantly across his form, his muscular arms hugging his tight shirt. Gotta be the alcohol.

"You done staring? Or did you want to snap a pic of me too? Tell all your buddies your partying with numero dos?"

I chuckled as he sat down on the couch next to Todoroki and I, "I was actually just wondering if manspreading still counts by the way you fan those things out."

"Things? Ouchie," he smirked, leaning in closer to my face.

"Is this your thing?" I questioned.

"Is what my thing?"

"The thing where you rile up girls who clearly don't want to sleep with you so much to the point where they do it just to shut you up?"

"Is it working?"

"Jesus Christ."

"Just Hawks."

"Wow, good one, dad."

"Can be if you let me."

"You just always have something to say, don't you," I remarked, noting the distance between us was small for the second time that night.

"Well, feel free to shut me up."

That one actually shut me up.

"Can you guys please just bang or leave, I'm trying to sleep," mumbled Todoroki, pulling a pillow over his head.

"Good idea bestie, I'm leaving," I huffed, taking my wings and heading for the door, not even considering sticking around to say bye.

"Damn, leave them wanting more, right angel?"

"I'm not trying to, but you keep fucking stalking me. I don't know how many more hints I can leave to portray to you that I'm not interested."

A blatant lie.

I stormed out of the house, totally not even bothering to phone a cab and deciding to just walk it. Of course I knew he was following me. His wings were flapping behind me, obnoxiously loud.

"You really shouldn't walk home alone at this time of night, angel. There's villains about, you know."

"I'm sure I'll be okay. I've got someone watching my back, it seems."

I heard him giggle a little.

I walked in silence for a while, him flying lazily behind me. I was for sure starting to get cold, but I couldn't handle showing that fact in fear of the cliched 'take my jacket' moment that would inevitably happen if he were to notice.

"Cold?"

Fuck.

"Fine."

"Good," he said with a hint of a smirk in his voice.

I felt arms wrap around my waist and before I knew it, I was propelled into who knows how many feet in the air.

"Hawks! What the fuck?!"

"Isn't this fun?!" He shouted over the wind, flying me around.

"Absolutely not! Put me down!"

"Sorry, can't hear you!"

He made a series of leaps and tumbles, much to my discomfort.

"Do you know how much alcohol I've consumed? I will be sick any minute!"

"Good! It'll be funny!" he laughed, bringing us up super high, then free falling with his back facing the earth.

"HAWKS!"

At the last minute, he flipped me around and flapped his wings so that we were moving at a rather fast speed across the beach. If I let my arms be free, I could've touched the water but I was way too scared.

"Please bring me back to solid ground," I said defeatedly.

I stared at the reflection of his face in the water, mirrored by the lunar light of the moon. His wings splayed out so proudly behind him.

"See, I knew you had manners."

A few seconds later, he placed me on the beach where I would've immediately fell to my knees if he didn't catch me. My arms were shaking uncontrollably with the adrenaline.

"Wow, wow, steady there," he chuckled, "Wasn't that fun?"

I could barely even muster the strength to be mad at him, shakily holding onto his arm, "It was definitely a sobering experience."

I decided to sit down on the soft sand, holding my stomach in fear of puking right in front of the number two hero. Not shockingly, he sat next to me, hands behind him, neck upstretched looking at the stars.

"I just love it up there. It's a different world."

For the first time the whole night, I felt as though what he said was genuine. And it was sweet.

"I mean, I can't exactly agree, my eyes were closed pretty much the whole time."

He had a proper laugh to my statement, "You liked it though, I can tell."

I looked at him angrily, "What part of that told you that I liked that?"

"The fact you're sitting here at 2AM talking to me on the beach and not running away."

"You'd probably just catch me."

"It's like you know me."

"I know your type," I remarked.

"Do you though?" His mischievous grin nearly made me falter, but I composed myself.

"Completely ravenous for one thing till the next pretty thing catches your eye? Yeah, I know that well."

"I just know what I like, that's all."

"And what's that?"

His head came down from the sky to look into my eyes, like a predator hunting it's prey.

"You."

I chuckled sarcastically at his bold claim, "And you think I like you too?" If I didn't find any comedy in that ridiculous statement, I could've maybe fallen for him right then and there.

"I know you do."

"How's that?"

"The goosebumps on your skin when I touched you. The nervous look on your little sober face. The way you wanted me in your team. How you didn't move when I sat right beside you. The over-analysation of every move I make. Could you have made it any more glaringly obvious?"

He wasn't wrong, in a way. But the deduction skills it would've taken to get to that point didn't seem probable for someone like him to work out.

"You're literally so delusional."

"Oh, of course I am, angel. How else are you supposed to survive in this world?"

xxx

He walked me the rest of the way home, letting his jacket rest on my shoulders to try and stop the shivering.

"Your screaming was actually pretty funny, you know."

"I'm glad my near-death screams could bring you some hilarity," I huffed, pulling the jacket in closer to my chest. "Well, this is me."

"Yes it is."

"Shut up," I said, giving him back his jacket and pulling out my keys from my small bag. I put them in the lock and before unlocking, I turned around to see him still there, "Murder attempt aside, thank you."

He smiled, eyes casting downwards to the pavement, "Anytime, angel."

And with that, he was off, leaving a small red feather behind at my doorstep.
