THE FOREST WAS peaceful as Evelyn walked. The animals were bustling around as they ran away from the sign of a human presence. Her feet were bare and her dirty clothes clung to her frame. She told herself not to cry. Crying would be pointless. She was going to be free. Evelyn knew she would be happy.

But the reason why she was doing this made her force tears away. She was doing this because no one cared about her. No one loved her enough to change her decision.

Evelyn reached the cliff that overlooked much of the forest and the wind caused her clothes to sway as if they were pulling her back, trying to tell her to not do it. The tears didn't fall and Evelyn looked at the view in front of her.

The trees and a clear blue sky pierced her vision and her blue eyes fell closed. Without even thinking about it, she sent a signal, a signal that told Peter Pan where she was.
