THE SUN BEGAN to set and Evelyn smiled as she watched all of the boys dance around the fire, celebrating the shadows end. It was hard to believe at first, but as soon as all of the boys were telling her how the shadow was gone, it was hard not to believe.

Pan approached her cautiously and sat on the log next to her. Evelyn looked over and saw that he was looking over at her. She looked up at him and then kissed him. The immortal boy was shocked at first but then kissed back, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. The two pulled away after a little while and Evelyn smiled.

"Thank you," she said. "For everything."

Pan smiled back and rested his forehead against hers. "Don't thank me, love."

"I'm serious." She sighed and then put her hands on his cheeks. "All my life I've been wishing someone would care about me. Even for just a second. And then over time, I stopped caring. All I wanted was my pain to end. There was no point to my life. That day when you promised me you'd show me that my life was worth something. I didn't think you could do it. But you did. You showed me there is a point to my life. You and the boys are my family now and I'm not letting you guys go."

"I'm not letting you go either," Pan confessed.

Evelyn felt a tear go down her face. "Just promise me something? I want to go slow. I don't want to rush into anything with you. You're the first person I've ever loved this way and I just want to take my time."

Pan nodded understandingly. "We'll take it slow. And I promise I won't push you into anything."

Evelyn smiled and then pecked his lips. "I love you."

Pan smiled. "And I love you."
