I opened the door, and entered a baby blue room, which had a hospital bed in the center, and a flat screen tv pinned to the wall.  Besides Caleb's bed was a table filled with snacks. Hayley jumped on him. my parents stood up, afraid that she would do more damage. when she finally released him, I went and embraced him as well. he smiled at me, but I didn't say anything to him. once I escaped the hug, I awkwardly stood to the side, hugging my arm. finally, dad broke the awkward silence between all of us.

"Caleb got diagnosed with a heart disease. that's why we've been going to the hospital so often. last night, he had an attack. he's lucky he survived, the doctors said. " my dad said. I tried to process all of the information.

"look, we're sorry we didn't tell you girls, we just didn't want you guys to have to worry about this all the time. it was a stupid mistake, you guys deserve to know what's going on." my dad said. mom and Caleb stayed quiet. 

"I'm gonna go to the vending machine. anyone want a snack?" I asked, desperate to get out of here.
"I'll  come with you!" Asher said.
uhh, I asked if you wanted a snack, not if you wanted to tag along pal.

wow that was mean. but I just needed some alone time. couldn't he see that??

I sighed. we walked outside. he looked at me nervously. "hey Annie, are you okay?" he asked.
"does it look like I'm okay? my parents have been lying to me for the past month about my brothers health, and turns out he almost died last night, so yes, I'm perfectly fine Cathy!" I yelled. thankfully there weren't many people there.

he rubbed his neck shyly. "I'm sorry Anns. what do you want?" he asked, as we approached the vending machine.
"a kinder Bueno." I muttered. I was about to take out my mony bur Asher beat me to it.
he smirked and handed me my kinder Bueno.

"I'm assuming you don't wanna go inside?" he asked. I shook my head no. we stood there for a while, an awkward silence between us.

"oh come here you!" he said in the end. he held out his arms, which circled my waist and pulled me close to him.

I was immediately enveloped by his scent. he smelled like heaven, no cap.

I didn't even know I was sobbing when I felt his shirt was wet. I looked up and my hands flew to my mouth.
"omg ash I'm so sorry!" I gasped.
"Annie, it's fine!" he chuckled. he smiled at me, I gazed up at his beautiful emerald eyes.
"wow." I mumbled.
"what?" he hummed.
"you're eyes are really pretty." I let out a soft giggle.
he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and chuckled. why do I want to hear him laugh all the time?

"yours are gorgeous." and with that, he connected our lips. his lips were as soft as velvet. I circled my arms around his neck, he hugged me and pulled me closer. after a couple of minutes, we broke apart.

"wow." he mumbled. 
I blushed and looked at the floor.

"Annie, I really like you. and I know you probably think I'm gonna hook up with you and leave, but I would never do that to you. yes I've been a player, and yes I've been a jerk, but I realize that that was stupid of me. I've always liked you. I always will. I guess I only did all of that to get your attention, but i just-"
I cut him off by placing my lips on his. he didn't argue, and the kiss slowly grew more passionate. I broke apart from him.

"I like you too Asher." I smiled.
his eyes lit up, and he looked like a little kid who had just been offered candy.

"do you um, do you wanna go out tomorrow night? I'll pick you up?" he said.
"sure Asher." I laughed at his nervousness. he put an arm around me and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"you're perfect." he said, causing a smile to appear on my face.
