Tamarin
The party was awful.
Pearl palace was full of Seawings, who had flown in from all around the Kingdom of the Sea to see the Princess, who had not be subject to the publics eyes for at least 2 years now.
Tamarin had shifted her scales to a pale blue, so she didn't have as many pairs of ayes on her, and questions such as,
'Why, is a Rainwing of all dragons, at our party?'
Anemone couldn't get out of the public eye that easily. The pink Seawing stuck out like a sore talon, not to mention the ropes of pearl's draped around her neck.
Queen Coral beckoned the couple over to a raised platform at the end of the hall, smiling and chatting with Auklet, who was sitting next to her.
"Ah, hello my darling"! She cried, wrapping Anemone in a fierce hug she tried to wiggle out of, "how good to see you again!" 8 year old Auklet wandered over, and gave both Anemone and Tamarin a much less suffocating hug each. Coral beamed at Tamarin.
"And hello Tamarin!" Tamarin smiled politely, and gave a little wave. Coral gestured to the table laden with fish, seafood, and strangely, fruit.
"I had some brought in for you" the Queen whispered. Tamarins smile became a little more real.
"I'm going to get something to eat" Tamarin whispered to Anemone, who had just noticed Tsunami walk in, talon-in-talon with Riptide. She nodded vaguely, then barrelled across the hall to give her older sister a hug.
Tamarin wandered over to the buffet table, picking up a kiwi and a talon full of blueberries, then proceed to a far corner to watch the now dancing crowd.
A cold, grey talon clamped over her snout, and a dimmed figure pressed a knife to her throat.
"Let me go!" She yelled. "Somebody, HE"-
"Silence if you want to live" hissed a horribly familiar voice. Tamarin fell silent and stopped struggling. Her captor held a flower to her snout. Tamarin recognised it's scent. Aconitum. Feeling drowsy, she staggered backward into the arms of two mean looking Seawing. Then the drowsy feeling swallowed her whole, and she remembered no more.
"Nice of you to finally join us" the same voice slithered. "I prefer to meet my........guests while they are conscious." Tamarin's eyes snapped open, and a tidal wave of memories crashed into her brain.
It was him.
"Release me at once!" She yelled.
"Tamarin, that's no way to speak to your fiancé" Pike grinned wickedly.
"Why would I ever marry you? Besides, I'm taken already."
"Come on. Don't you remember our....history?"
She did, and that was the problem.
"Now, I want to marry you, but that foolish princess is in the way. I also want to become king, but that foolish princess is the only way that can happen. I decided to go for you. It's very simple. If you don't marry me, then I'll kill her. If you do, her life will be spared. And you know I would kill her."
Tamarin knew. She knew he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. He wanted her? He could have her.
Even though she didn't want him.
"I'll marry you" she said "if you promise to never lay another talon on anyone but me." Pike frowned, then nodded.
"So, darling.....now we wait for the main event."
I finally updated! Let's go! I am really, really sorry for the wait. Hopefully I'll be able to update more often, since I have the basic storyline in my head.
