We all jumped out of the bushes, and hollered "SURPRISE"!!!

The look on Tamarin's face was beautiful. Surprised, over-joyed, confused, it was all there. Moon looked around, smiling at her friends. There was Turtle, with one wing wrapped protectively around Kinkajou. And Winter, over the pavilion, with a skywing Moon didn't know. He was breathtakingly beautiful. His coloring was similar to a sunset, his head ruby red, his back talons indigo.

Not a skywing, Moon thought, puzzled. Moon noticed how Winter carefully kept his distance, even so, he had the same look on his as he did when he looked at her, when they were dragonets. Moon had thought it was his 'gentle' face [if Winter had a 'gentle' face. His face's consisted of furious, angry, annoyed, irritated, displeased] but now she realized it was a large combination of want/ can't have/ pain/ joy/ forbidden/ sorrow/ uncontrollable love]. Moon's heart stopped. She felt dizzy, and remembered a conversation shortly after they left JMA, 3 years ago.

They were at Jade Mountain, admiring the twilight. He turned to her, but she kept looking straight ahead, her mouth set in a determined line. "Winter, I-I'm sorry. I love you, but I love Qibli more. It breaks my heart to do this, but it must be done. Someday you will find a dragon you love as much as me. I know your parents have an icewing for you to marry, but love isn't about force, it's about choice. You choose who you want to love. I'm choosing Qibli, but one day, you will choose a dragon too, Gender, tribe, it doesn't matter. When you love a dragon, you love them. It's not a yes or no question. And one day, I hope you find a dragon who is beyond your wildest dreams, and is perfect for you. You deserve all that, and so much more". She finished, tears sliding down her cheeks. Winter stared at the ground. He would never, NEVER love anyone more than Moon. Moon pushed his head up, looked him in the eye, and very quickly, kissed his cheek. Then she hugged him, and took off, flying toward her and Qibli's house in possibility. As she flew off, she heard Winter whisper something."I forgive you".

Moon hadn't seen him since.
