I utterly hate myself for putting the poor bois in this scene but it's for the AU

So in my AU where Romeo has a big bro, I'm calling it "Tale of two brothers". In the AU, the two come home to find their village under attack. Their mom helps them escape so the run of to the outskirts an go to the forbidden tunnels that lead a long ways up. They escape the attackers but face obsticals. Both get caught in a violent flowing stream that leads down a waterfall.

Romeo's flannel jacket gets caught on a stone block and Ben manages to grab onto a block. The current manages to cause Ben to loose his grip and fall with the stream, hit his head on one of the rapids knocking him unconscious, and sending him over the edge. Romeo manages to take his Jacket off and grab the stone ledge, pulling himself up. When he goes to the edge of the waterfall, he doesn't see the ground at all. He soon realises that he's all by himself. Terrified and lonley. He treads through the tunnels, lost and hungry. He eventually meets Xara, then Fred. As they all find a way out of the tunnels and into the open, the three children bond as friends and after warming up to them, Romeo feels like he's got a family again. This adds more as to why he tries to keep the Admins together when he's older. He's not just upset that his friends don't have time for him, he's afraid of losing his new family, of being alone again, and losing the only people that he knew best, that cared for him, all over again.

On the other hand, Ben survived the fall, and wakes up by a strange pond. He looks around but sees no sign of Romeo, only finding his jacket, which eventually came unstuck,floating on the water. With this, Ben feels that he has failed to protect his family. He monologues, as if speaking to his dead father how he tried to keep his mother and brother safe. His little brother, that he swore to protect. He treads along his new surroundings, torn by loneliness and unnecessary guilt. He finds a bunch of masked people going through a portal and follows them. Only to end up in a completely different world. He has to escape but pretending to be the world lost Lord Volio, introducing himself under both this and his real name. He is caught red handed and is almost executed before a group of rebels attack the guards and Take Ben with them. Adapting the two names to give himself a new allies, "Benvolio", he joins the Rebels, known as Cobra, Diane and Horatio, only they call him by his real name. He becomes good friends with him and he feels like he can be a protector again. He works so hard to keep his team safe that he almost looks exhausted. They eventually tell them that they do appreciate him doing what's best for the team, but he needs to care about himself too. Eventually, He almost ends up murdering Horatio in a flash of anger, but Diane intervenes, causing a large scar across her back as she pushed Horatio out of the way but didn't move away enough for the blade of Ben's sword not to touch her. After the incident, Diane may be healed but Ben's guilt grew so he decided to strike out on his own. Away from society. Going as a solo thief and rebel. Doing what he can to survive. Until he can learn to control hi self again, he is not going near his old friends. He eventually helps a few odd families and observes how they show independence. Each Family, teaches him a new lesson, a new way to cope with his state in isolation and a new reminder of the good times he had with his own family. 

The past of how two brothers were seperated haunts them both to the moment. Neither of them told their groups of friends about each other and what happened to their mother. They both wanted to let the past be past. But it comes back to them in different ways. Both kept apart for years... I wonder what would happen if they reunited?
