Taehyung had an hour before his spaceship departed. Somehow the moment in his life he'd been anticipating since he could remember was now the thing wracking him with anxiousness from head to toe.
Taehyung didn't want to leave Jungkook.
"You are leave?" Jungkook asked with his eyes darting towards his feet which were pointing inwards, the side of his little black dress flying up because of the heavy wind.
"I'm sorry." Taehyung said, looking at the black-haired boy whose fingers were shaking. "I'm sorry, Jungkook. You'll be safer with Jin- he- he won't sell you off like I did. Fuck, I'm so sorry."
"It is okay please!" Jungkook cried, eyes closed tightly, as if perhaps not looking at Taehyung's face would make all his upset disappear. "Taehyung was looking out for he-self..... Jungkook is being selfish! Please! I will stay with Jin, it is okay!"
"You don't have to pretend like you're not upset with me, bunny." Taehyung stepped closer to the android, whose hands coiled into fists and eyes opened, big and sad. "I know you are. Suppressing it will only make it worse. I've upset you haven't I? You thought you'd stay with me forever?"
"Yes." Jungkook squeaked, and Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's hands and the boy leaped forward to hide his face in the width of Taehyung's shoulder. "Y-yes! I imagine us like Jimin and Hobi... living in a nice house with doggy! But now Taehyung is going away.... will Jungkook be alone forever?"
"I'll come back to get you, little guy," Taehyung whispered, already feeling moisture forming beneath his eyes at the realization that he'll have to leave Jungkook, the only stability in his life. "I will. You won't be alone."
"Taehyung!" Jin rushed out of the mansion gates, sunglasses sliding down his face as he did, eyes wide. "We need to go right now. Seriously. I'll keep Jungkook, you need to get out of here."
Jin's car rolled up to them instantly, and before Taehyung knew it, he and Jungkook were getting ushered to the back of the car. Jin sat with them. Jungkook was squeezed in the middle.
"Drive to the spaceship holding center. Taehyung, listen. Getting Jungkook out of that place was good. That- that woman in there? Ms. Shell? Yeah- yeah, she's very dangerous." Jin said, sounding breathless. "Jungkook will be safest with-"
"Danger? No no, Ms. Shell is very good!" Jungkook said, nodding. "She let me go from bad place! Said I should be free." Jungkook explained.
"....She did?" Jin asked, looking confused. "What? That- that doesn't make sense... fuck, what is she up to?" Jin grumbled to himself. "Also why on Earth are you wearing a dress?"
"Why can Jungkook not? Just because I have thingy between legs do not mean I cannot wear dress. Clothing has no gender." Jungkook said profoundly, looking away from Jin with anger.
"That's not what I meant...." Jin trailed, but Taehyung was smiling at the boy. He was ever so cute. Taehyung wrapped his arms around him and kissed his cheek, letting his head rest upon Jungkook's shoulder for the entirety of the car ride, letting himself soak in his comfort. Jin looked.
"Tae." Jin said, and Taehyung didn't want to look up, he just buried his nose in Jungkook's neck. "You're ready to depart, right?" Jin asked.
"No. But you're not giving me a choice." Taehyung replied with a mumble. Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hand.
"Don't pin it on me. You were the one who decided to sell him in the first place-"
"Stop bringing that up, seriously!" Taehyung said, eyes wide, finally bringing his head up to look at Jin. "I know, I know I fucked up. But I-I fixed it, didn't I? I won't do it again. I won't hurt him ever again," Taehyung let out, almost desperate.
Jin looked genuine, not angered nor gullible. "Taehyung," Jin spoke gently, and the tone of voice made Taehyung look away. "You need to fix your anger problems before attempting to care for an android," Jin said, and Taehyung tensed.
"I don't fucking have anger problems," Taehyung growled back, and Jin scoffed, looking away as if his point had been proven.
Poor Jungkook was caught amidst the wide-shouldered men arguing. The android sighed. "Why no one is asking what Jungkook wants?" Jungkook murmured. Jin and Taehyung looked at him.
"You don't know what you want," Jin spoke, and at the same time;
"I'm sorry, baby. You can tell us." Taehyung said. He looked at Jin, who pursed his lips. Both boys then looked at Jungkook, who had his fingers splayed onto his knees.
"Look!" Jungkook squeaked, looking a bit frightened. "Jungkook does know what he wants, but also he is not sure of it! The facility... it is bad place! They are mean to Jungkook and- and they hit!" Jungkook said, blinking big eyes. "But... Jungkook does learning there... and bed is nice... and Jungkook has friends like Rosé." Jungkook said.
"But also." Jungkook added before either men could interject. "Taehyung is very nice. He takes care of Jungkook, he holds, he kisses, he hugs. He makes food for. He listens to Jungkook and makes Jungkook feel very good..." Jungkook said shyly. Taehyung smiled, but then- "But Taehyung is also bad sometime! He gets very angry very fast and then yells at Jungkook! Jungkook breathed!"
"I'm sorry," Taehyung looked down. "I-I'll control my anger. I get frustrated at everything, a-and-"
"Yeah, yeah. We know. Look, Kookie. Your future with Taehyung is unknown, uncertain, unsteady. Who knows what's gonna happen? No offense to him, but he doesn't have the means to take care of you. I mean, he sold you off now, who knows what he might so later?" Jin said. "Again, no offense."
"Saying 'no offense' doesn't take away the fact that you're being a little bitch, Seokjin." Taehyung snarked, and Jin glared at him.
"So what if future with blue is uncertain unwhatever unwhatever." Jungkook said softly. "That is okay. Why have future all planned out? That is sounding boring to Jungkook."
Jungkook looked at Taehyung. "Jungkook wants to go on adventure with Taehyung and live real life, not one inside facility where every day is same same." Jungkook smiled. "Jungkook wants to go with his blue."
Taehyung looked at him closely with a small tender smile, then leaned forward to lock their lips together. Jungkook kissed back, hand on Taehyung's face. Taehyung pulled away but their lips lingered, soft and mending.
"Well anyway, that doesn't change the fact that Taehyung only has a space-pod which can only carry one person." Jin said, putting his sunglasses back on and looking outside, crossing his legs. Jungkook and Taehyung looked at him.
"I-I'll buy another one, I still have a million units left," Taehyung said with optimistic eyes.
"Now? Good luck. They raised the prices this morning, didn't you hear? It takes more than a million to get a spaceship for one now." Jin said gruffly.
"Jungkook can fit on my lap," Taehyung spoke quickly, reassuring himself his heart racing. Jungkook looked scared.
"Last time two people tried fitting into a space-pod they both exploded because of the heavy impact and turbulence but go off...." Jin sighed.
"Jin!" Taehyung cried, and Jin turned his head, bored. "I-I get it, okay? I-I'll just stay then. Here. With Jungkook." Taehyung mumbled.
"Are you serious?" Jin asked, lifting an eyebrow. "You rather keep yourself in this shithole than leave? All for this android?" Jin finally took his sunglasses off, and this time he had a look of wonderment on his face. "What's wrong with you?"
"We're here, sir." The driver spoke. Taehyung looked at his phone. He had 20 minutes until departure. Jin opened the car door and got out, Taehyung and Jungkook followed.
"Taehyung it is okay, Jungkook doesn't want to keep you from your dream, please! G-go to other planet, Jungkook will be fine with Jin!" Jungkook said pleadingly, hands fidgeting with one another.
"I won't be fine without you, Kook. I don't care. Forget it. I'll try and get a refund, but I won't leave with Jungkook." Taehyung said.
"They won't give you a refund." Jin muttered.
"I don't care! I don't care anymore. I'm staying with Jungkook, and that's all that matters." Taehyung spoke loudly. Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes.
"Why?" Jin hissed, eyebrows furrowed now. "Why're you doing this? Why aren't you selfish like the rest of them? Why aren't you letting go? He-he's a piece of metal," Taehyung, Seriously, I'm not even saying this to be a piece of shit. Get out of here. Anyone in your place would. Don't pass on such an opportunity." Jin spoke.
"What's the point, Jin." Taehyung snickered humorlessly. "I'm gonna spend the rest of my life regretting ever letting him go."
Jungkook looked at Taehyung with big eyes. "Taehyungie no. Please. Don't do this. You have to leave." Jungkook said, shaking his head. "Don't give up on your dream for Jungkook-!"
"You-" Taehyung began, but then bit back because it was far too cheesy to say you are my dream. "You matter more than anything ever has. I'm not going to let go of another person." Taehyung smiled at him. "Not again."
"Sir, please board now or else you won't learn the safety precautions." One of the men working there said to Taehyung, who looked away.
"I'm not going." Taehyung spoke, and the man looked shocked. "Give the pod to someone else."
"A-are you serious? We can't refund, sir. The pod's been booked, it'll leave with or without you. Why would you want to stay here???" The man asked, beguiled.
"Fuck off, that's why." Taehyung spoke, and the man laughed at him and then went away, shaking his head, thinking Taehyung just made the biggest mistake of his life. He might have. But right now it didn't really matter. Taehyung looked to Jungkook.
"I'll keep you safe with me, I promise." Taehyung whispered. Jungkook hung his head low.
"You should have go away.... don't stay for Jungkook... what have I done..."
"Made me happy. I'm not about to fuck up again, Jungkook. It's okay, seriously, don't worry. I've lived here my entire life, leaving seems so unrealistic at this point I couldn't even imagine it." Taehyung chuckled. "I'm happier with you."
Jungkook hugged him tightly. Taehyung hugged back. They kissed for a second or two, and then hear the announcement that the space pods were taking off for that time. Taehyung let out a deep breath but smiled at Jungkook. It didn't matter. It didn't-
"For fuck's sake," Jin spoke. "For actual fuck's sake. You are the stupidest person I've ever met and Jungkook on god I hate you."
"We did nothing but exist." Taehyung frowned.
Jin walked closer to them, an angry looked on his face, towering over them. "I'm going to say this one time. Don't tell anyone. Don't react happily. I'm just- I'm just fucking done with you two. Here," Jin said, and then put his hand out. He had keys in his hand. "Take my private ship and get the fuck out of here."
"W-what?" Taehyung let out with big eyes. Jungkook gasped as well.
"I said don't react!" Jin snapped. "I've never done this before, but I need you two to leave. Taehyung, I know people on every planet. If you do something wrong, I will make sure you get paid for it. Got it?" Jin asked, Taehyung nodded hurriedly. He couldn't believe this.
It happened quite fast, but Jin had a fire in his eyes, and despite not knowing him, Taehyung felt immensely grateful. Both of them got ushered into the spaceship holding center.
"W-wait, we-we're leaving NOW?" Taehyung asked, eyes wide. You know when you mentally prepare yourself for an event before it takes place so the impact of it doesn't overwhelm you as much as it should? Yeah, Taehyung had not done that. He felt like crying.
"Yes, because legally I'm not allowed to do this but- they don't have to know," Jin said, and then rang his phone to call someone. "It's self-driving, I assume you know how to maneuver a spaceship."
"Why wouldn't I?" Taehyung remarked sarcastically.
"I'm talking about Jungkook. He must have it installed in him or something." Jin said, and then called someone, said bring my ship, then cut the call. Jungkook blinked big eyes.
"I don't know anything!" Jungkook said loudly. Taehyung grabbed Jungkook by the back.
"You know a lot more than you think you do, baby. C'mon, let's get onto that spaceship." Taehyung said, and Jungkook nodded, looking nervous as well.
Jin's private ship (he was so fucking rich) was huge, meant for a bunch of people. Taehyung almost felt a wave of intense anger upon seeing it because it could fit, like, 20 people, yet Jin had it for himself. The number of people who could've left the planet would've been drastic if millionaires didn't buy whole ass spaceships for themselves.
"There's, like, rooms in there, beds and a kitchen and stuff. The planet only allows the take-off of ships for a certain time so if you don't leave in the next ten minutes they won't let you leave at all. The destination had been allocated, don't touch or do anything. Unless you meet with a meteor or something, in that case, good luck-"
"Stop scaring us Jin!" Taehyung cried. Jin nodded.
"Right, anyways. Good luck. Have a safe trip. Whatever whatever. Now go!!" Jin snapped, pushing both of them into the spaceship. It was an oval-shaped ship which went on for ages, like one big room. Taehyung looked with glazed eyes and an open mouth, while Jungkook turned to look at Jin.
"Thank you for letting Jungkook be with his Taehyung." Jungkook said, and Jin looked at him with a sigh.
"It's fine. Stay safe, okay? If he does anything you can always reach out to me." Jin said. Jungkook nodded solemnly. The doors of the spaceship closed shut, and Jungkook turned around.
Taehyung had his hands against his face. "You okay?" Jungkook asked, tilting his head.
"Yeah it's just, uh.... very overwhelming," Taehyung said, and then let his hands slide down. "It feels like it isn't supposed to happen, and that- that all of it is just happening so quickly and-"
"So what!" Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung widened his eyes. "Be happy! You are finally leave. But you were going to stay back for Jungkook! Why is!"
"What? You were the one who got upset with me in the first place for leaving you! Which, now that I think about it... you were the one who told me to leave you! Make up your mind, Jungkook." Taehyung said, an impish snicker leaving his lips at Jungkook's frown. Taehyung sat down on one of the seats facing the big window, putting his seatbelt on. Jungkook sat down beside him.
"Yes I told you to leave. Yes I told you to come back. Yes I am telling you to leave again but wanting you to keep me. I am confuse, okay??" Jungkook shouted. "I want you to be happy but I am thinking about myself also.... I'm selfish!" Jungkook said, putting his hands up to his face.
Taehyung leaned over to put Jungkook's seatbelt on. Jungkook let his hands fall and sniffled upon seeing Taehyung up close, fixing his belt. "It's okay," Taehyung whispered, clicking the seatbelt shut then looking at Jungkook. "We're all selfish sometimes. I rather you actually tell me how you feel instead of suppressing it and pretending you're okay."
"Okay.... it just hurt that Taehyung let go of me so easily, and then did not look upset after!" Jungkook said, eyebrows shooting up. "Even though Jungkook asked for you to sell, I was still sad! It is bad of me."
"No, no it's okay. You're still figuring stuff out, but you're on a good track. Next time, just be honest with me okay? I-I know that you mean more to me than anything ever will, so I'm putting you first." Taehyung whispered, and then smooched Jungkook's puffy cheek. Jungkook hit.
"No!" Jungkook snapped. "Think of yourself! Do not put Jungkook first!"
"Ow!" Taehyung hissed, gripping his forearm where Jungkook hit him. Jungkook's eyes grew very large and he suddenly looked scared. "Kook, don't hit me, seriously."
"I-I'm sorry." Jungkook said timidly, putting his hands over one another as if locking them so he wouldn't flail them about and hit him. Taehyung looked nervous for a millisecond but then let the thought vanish, because the spaceship began taking off.
The countdown from 10 began, and Jungkook looked more scared as each second passed. The spaceship began to take off. Jungkook let out a high pitched scream as the ship flew out of the atmosphere and out of the planet. Taehyung was yelling too.
"AAAAAAAAAAA," Jungkook continued screaming even when the ship reached a stable standpoint outside of the planet. Taehyung tapped his thigh lightly to shut him up and then unbuckled his seatbelt, leaping towards the window.
"W-wow," Taehyung whispered, looking out into the infinite galaxy. "I wish the windows were bigger, I could see everything clearly."
